O K Someone with £3m AND a good lawyer.
-
Is there anyone out there with a spare £3m to invest in our Club ? You could double your money in 4 to 5 months. I believe our present squad is good enough to gain Champions' League this season if remains unaltered. Selling any of our important players with a few months to go could probably mean another season without CL rewards. Surely there is someone willing to try and double their stake in 4 months !

ASL Who's running A.C. ? The players or the management. Mind you it was indeed Boyd who refused terms. Does this mean if a player doesn't want to leave and is he under contract then he doesn't have to. If this is the case then no-one has to leave if they don't want to go. Therefore a question of Club loyalty.
-
Isn't refreshing in these days of financial uncertainty that a club, albeit A.C. Milan, can turn down money for a player. What a well run club ! Who would have thought the management of a football club would listen to the supporters when it came to flogging off an important player half way through a season while challenging for Champions' League place.

It's now official. Anyone using the World Wide Web to offer opinions or suggestions has to be treated somewhere in between child molesters and drink drivers. As the journalists all gather in a " wagon train circle " mentality to protect their medium in a last ditch effort to keep selling newsprint, more are attacking internet users branding them idiots etc. The latest today being Bill Leckie. Now I usually agree with his stance on most things but his latest volley on the use of the internet is out of order. So come on Bill, you give us your personal address and we'll give you ours. I know it is your livliehood your protecting but there's no need for the name calling.

EVERYTHING MUST GO !!!! I watched my local Woolworths sell anything which was in the store up until the final day when it was almost giving stuff away, a bit like Boyd and Burke in a scary kind of way.

Am I right in thinking that in our great democracy free speech and opinions are allowed and even encouraged. I have never met Walter Smith or Mr.Murray. Or, indeed, any of the others involved in the running of our great football team.(apart from Ally Mc. but he was pissed at the time) All I know of them is what I read in the newspaper or hear on the TV. I expect that this is the same for 99.9% of any supporters. I form my opinions from what I hear and see mainly in the press. I, and most others, do not resort to name calling of the people who run our team. Why should WS etc.feel the need to resort to such name calling without actually knowing the people of whom they are addressing ? As far as I understand it is the business and coaching methods which are under scrutiny and not their personal character. The supporters who are expressing their opinions by the best available means want to have a successful football club....No more and NO LESS. Is this the same agenda for WS etc ? Given the logic of recent decisions it makes you wonder Those making such sweeping attacks and suggesting that all supporters are stupid and know nothing about anything also have the audacity to simultaneously to live off these same supporters hard earned cash. This says to me that these people may have something to hide and are trying to deflect the main issues. Any knowledge I have gained over many years is by watching football, listening to managers and believing what they said which turned out to be total bullshit has made me suspicious of "successful businessman" Mr.Murray's words and future plans and that of his paid employees. After all, he is not a multi millionaire by looking after the small investor. Once WS etc. has met all "troublemakers" or even put HIS thoughts and feelings on this board, after all he says he reads the comments, then he will be able to form opinions of the individuals who question his actions (even better if he is happy to give everyone his own e-mail so that he can communicate personally) Or,perhaps we should all write letters so he can respond individually therefore revealing identities in a safe and secure manner. Has he ever heard the term "internet security" As things stand I want some genuine, truthful answers to my Club's future including "will Ibrox Park park exist in 10 years"

What is a sackable offence for a Rangers manager?
biggordy replied to calscot's topic in Rangers Chat
For me the proposed sale of Kris Boyd spoke volumes for the Club's ambitions. He is arguably one of the best goalscorers we have ever had and yet the Club wishes to flog him half way through the season. He is possibly the main reason we are as high in the league at present. I thought we were aiming for Champions' league qualification with the associated rewards. If we can't move on the dead wood then who was responsible for setting up their contracts, after all they didn't score 20 odd goals so far this season. Boyd shouldn't be punted because of others mistakes. Bearing this in mind, does everyone agree therefore, that the future looks rosy under the present regime ? -
No sane or competent manager is going to touch Rangers when the present lot are pulling the strings. I just saw some of timmy's " humourous "cartoons on another site regarding our situation. They were too close to the mark to be funny. I think we are in for a bumpy ride until matters sort themselves out. Brace yourselves.
-
Kilbirnie ........ that's us very soon, that is !
-
Like a Puppet on a string. Walter knows where his bread's buttered. It appears " fortress Ibrox " has now adopted a seige mentality hoping all detractors will go away by trying to portray them as idiots and troublemakers. It's a well used tactic usually used by governments and the like. The shame is that it is very hard for all those complaining to meet the management on an equal footing. For example, you or I just can't call a press conference. Would the Press attend, I think not. The management is a small tight group and meet regularly whereas the support are spread far and wide and it is therefore impossible for everyone to prepare an agreed statement. ( and mostly have a life as well ) So, they simply pick individuals or groups off calling them misinformed, lunatic etc.

It appears to be £2.7m from 2007 until 2010.

You are 100% correct J B. Once Souness et al. had settled in, Murray,s big face came on the scene. Never one to miss a high profile opportunity. He's probably loving all this media attention at the moment, especially as he has no credible opposition to contradict him in a public arena. It's funny how most folk associate him with all of the Souness term, myself included. Thanks JB.
-
Why then does he refuse to face facts ? Is he surrounded by " yes men and hangers on " who are clinging on to his coat tails. Mr. Bain springs to mind. Is he lying and just playing for time until he buggers off into the sunset having flogged off the silver and reached a settlement with a buyer. Look at his recent business dealings and you will see profits here and there as well as takeovers of other companies. He is far from being a businessman on his uppers.
-
What,s in it for him ? I presume he gets his usual pound of flesh. After all, a shrewd businessman would not put several million pounds into a venture without good return, especially in these " uncertain " times.
-
Word is that Dundee United have posted profits of around £800,000. This due to being well run from top to bottom and not their enormous fan base. How many times did we beat them last season ?
-
Does anyone know if David Murray is still sponsoring Scottish Rugby ?
-
Who wants Mr.Murray to continue with more of the same and why ? When he took over he undoubtedly began an exciting new era for Rangers. The Souness years were arguably the most successful in our history apart from being very limited in Europe. In order to continue such success the Club had to keep changing with the times and keep on top of all of our main rivals. We failed to do this. The slide began a number of years ago and became obvious during McLeish's time as manager although it must be said that he did very well considering the tight financial restraints. We were now in the bargain basement area of football. Old pal WS came in and went along with the regime knowing full well the club's circumstances and despite this results were more than reasonable. But now, the players were all heart and possessed mediocre skill. Just as he had done with the Scotland team, results improved but we were accused far and wide of playing " anti-football " However, we were only playing to our strengths. How many times were we pummelled in Europe last season only to pull off miraculous victories. We have now been found out as Celtic did the same to us at the recent defeat at Ibrox showed. I'm sure they must have been embarrassed at the nature of their victory. We have been in decline for the past few years both on and off the field and Mr.Murray has either been unable or unwilling to do anything about it. This being the case either he has to change his financial strategy drastically or someone has to come in with a new direction. I have always followed Rangers, 50 years or so, and I want to be proud of my Club when it plays good, exciting football and is admired wherever it travels. Mis-management at different levels has made this now impossible. Big changes are required throughout to prevent further decline. 40 odd thousand season ticket holders (not many clubs in the UK and abroad can boast this) and the many more supporters who can't attend, deserve a team better than the one who struggled against lower division opponents last Tuesday. I want Mr. Murray to continue only if he listens to the support and acts accordingly, and, more importantly, always, always, act in the best interest of the Club and its thousands of followers. If he wants unity then he must be open and honest without fear or favour.
-
Murray says it wasn't him. He says a big boy done it and ran away. Does anyone know who that big boy was ? Pants on fire Mr. Murray, you know damn well who it was and if you don't, then you are doubly incompetent,
-
Our expectations have been eroded over the years so much so that we are now grateful to be " only 5 points off the dhims " and having to punt a senior player in order to get by. Surely not Shroomz.
-
A player who always had potential and would possibly always have it without fulfilling it. A great shame he often fell just short.

Happy New Year? Not If Youre A Ranger.
biggordy replied to CammyF's topic in Rangers Chat
Compare our situation with businesses in the " high street " Some are closing down, some have less profits and some are increasing theirs. The latter still making profit and increasing their share are well run. The fact that profit is still being made shows that it can be done. Thus. the poorly run businesses are failing due to their financial management. We are one of those businesses. Wholesale changes must be put in place now or we face closure like the others which have been badly run. If Murray truly loves this club as he often states then he must make this happen immediately.- 5 replies

Boyd,s gone, Ferguson is on the brink. Who,s next for the market place? How can selling Scotlands' top scorer be sold on midway through a season for such a paltry sum. So it IS true, we are a selling club with no ambition other than to trade in the marketplace. If you open your window right now you'll hear every sellick fan laughing. They've been saying it for a few years now and now it is official. Even all the extra cash made from last year's European run, Cuellar's sale, and Hutton's sale has failed to fill Murray's pockets. Someone does not seem to be "managing the debt" very well. As a club, I have always followed Rangers Football Club as I believed it to be honest and well run. I believed it always tried to be the best football club here in Scotland whatever it took, I believed in Murray when he said he would always outspend our rivals if thats what it took to beat them. If we are now being run solely as a (selling) business and not a football club then the people who are running the financial side of things should step down with immediate effect. Not too many years ago, a decent financial "expert", Fergus McCann, took a financially faltering football club in Glasgow and turned it right around within a few years. Now, that club can buy players at 4/5 million and can hold on to these players even in these "financially difficult" times and offer the players much better wages than we have at our club. They are also on course for a fourth league title and many more are likely as they will have little competition with everyone else being "selling clubs" What now? Something has to changs to break this cycle of financial mis-management. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Rangers fans' fury after 'hun' jibe on Rab C Nesbitt comeback show
biggordy replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Come on Pete, don't get drawn in to " their " " we are so hurtat this bigotted word " agenda. Sticks and stones etc. etc. Everyone who follows this nonsense must be so fed up by now. "They" have clowns who probably scour the press and media for similar outrages in order to play the "poor" us card." Otherwise known as the nasty man called us names shite. Think about it. On this occasion "Jamesie", the lying, cheating, drunken scumbag must not be a hun, and the only people who use this term are typical celtic fans. I would think that celtic fans should be more offended at being portrayed in this manner. Don't you agree ? By the way, I apologise for the multitude of apostrophies.
