  1. Just the press trying to stoke things up before this weekend. Setting the foundations for next weeks' tales of "terror" after an Old Firm game. I've said it many times, the sectarian "issue" would have disappeared long ago if it wasn't for these people constantly trying to stir things up in order to sell newspapers and air-time.
  2. It was a poor display rather than a bad one. A TV Ref went through all the bookings and thought all bar one were technically bookable offences. ( a case of stick together lads, I don't know ? ) Most games I would reckon could have about 100 possible free kicks. If Conroy were to officiate that means a stoppage every 50 seconds or so, more if he takes the time to either book or send off. Sensible refereeing would lead to play developing despite a possible infringement and no need to intervene. If the infringement was serious enough then a word at the next break of play would be enough. He booked players when this word was all that was needed. However I think this type of "by the book" refereeing has developed over the years because of supporters and press constant criticism and accusations of bias. There is now not much scope for common sense refereeing because of these pressures. Take that out of the equasion and only deal with the facts so nothing is left to question. Was Conroy biased ? We'll never know.

    Sammon

Naturally ! Trouble is, he has a constant urge to go home once a year to empty his sack. Whatever that means. Seriously, maybe one for the future I think.

    Sammon

Do any of you have any thoughts on Conor Sammon ? I've seen him a couple of times now and been quite impressed. My Killie friends tell me he had an indifferent season last year but has worked hard over the summer. Great pace, fitness and good skills with the ball. Despite being an Irish U 21 international, they tell me he's an out and out Rangers man.
  5. Without Boyd's goals..........no Champions' League.........Simples.
  6. Tonight's STV managed 10 seconds mentioning the champions but only on the back of an interview with Hinkel. They even managed to show footage of Larsson scoring against Hapoel about 50 years ago as well.
  7. We are in the Champions' League. This is the opening week in what is probably the biggest and most lucrative football competition in the world. Football Headlines--Back pages--Evening Times " First Naka, Now Naga " Shelik look to make another Japanese signing. or am I just being crabbit ? Can we keep this thread going to enable all such sightings to be noted ?
  8. To avoid a nervy run in, every point has to be fought for now. Had we won yesterday could have given us early advantage because, at the moment I think shelik are a bit fragile and to build a lead at this stage would demoralise them further.
  9. There's a caption competition if ever I saw one !!!!!! Here's one for starters "Mr Liewell gave you a grand to overlook decisions like that "
  10. Well. well. well. Shockeroonie. My dad just told me it was on BBC earlier. They compared last night's "riot" to the Manchester "riot" involving Rangers fans !!!!!!
  11. BBC Scotland are watching the West Ham/Millwall disturbances closely to see if any Rangers fans were in the vicinity.................probably. Why don't we all bombard the BBC with outrageous stories regarding our Club to see if they bite. Maybe if we make them look stupid enough their credibility would take a massive dunt. Can we have suggestions for such stories ? ie. man sees cloud formation showing the face of Walter Smith, Aiden McGeady with Jesus, Jock Stein over the eastside etc. etc.
  12. The good ol' bhoys at the BBC are at it again. They just can't help themselves. "Freedom for the Lockerbie Bomber" filled the entire news half hour on tonight's STV 6 0'clock news...and quite rightly so. It's a huge international story which doesn't happen avery day of the week. It could have repercussions for our Government home and abroad and it has been recalled to manage them. The BBC did cover this momentous event and still managed to report a story which told of a celtic supporter being " taunted by rival supprters in a Glasgow nightclub concerning the death of Tommy Burns " Will they stop at nothing to promote sectarianism in Scotland. This is really scraping the barrel for propaganda. Questions should be asked why the BBC is so tunnel visioned and why it felt the need to place such a non story on it's main prime time news programme on a day when rather more important events were taking place.
  13. It's a big ask for a Scottish Newspaper to be honest and show it's true colours.
  14. Mibbes A Mibbes B
  15. Google it and you get some kind of Australian cartoon primate driving a car made made out of animals. Yes, made of animals.
  16. Link not working for me....... help.
  17. I wish more people connected with Rangers would openly show their feelings towards our Club. I found Ferguson's whole demeanour quite inspirational.
  18. Just read it again, still fantastic ! The media in general deal in sensationalism and love to generate conflict. Going back to my college days and politics in particular. A book called " The Sun Wot Won It" [ 1992 ] describes how the newspaper ridiculed the Labour Party continually making them out to be idiots etc. The drip, drip effect was soon absorbed by the electorate and whenever anyone thought of the Labour party they thought of a bunch of idiots. Even people who never read the Sun heard others talking about it, TV programmes followed this track of what was thought of as populist opinion and it became cool for comedians to make jokes. The more the Labour Party tried to prove this was unjust and untrue, the more exposure it had and, subsequently, the more material the Sun et al had to manipulate. Maybe some similarities in our mhedia conflict but the Sun had Rupert Murdoch backing it while timmy has only some journos with an axe to grind. I think we have to bite back in a low key sort of way and choose our reactions carefully so as not to appear neurotic. We have to target who we complain to. For example, if the Retard prints something detrimental then we have to make our feelings known to the Sun. Let them slug it out while we keep a low profile.
  19. Do you think he may have put Squeers in to try and expose him for what he is or the objective being a balanced opinion. I don't know as I haven't read the book.
  20. One of the best posts I've ever seen concerning matters Rangers and the phoney " war "
  21. STV have announced a new tv journalist is joining their " team " Ronnie Esplin who wrote " Rangers for Me " amongst others similar is now on the payroll. He's an interesting Google. Let's hope he can bring an un-biased opinion to their sports coverage.
  22. He gets a few menchies. It's quite embarrassing for him when you read it in context with all the other tim misdemeanours one after another. Maybe we should mail him this blogspot.
  23. try http://ifyouknowtheirhistory.blogspot.com/
  24. Look at this.http://ifyouknowtheirhistory.blogspotcom/ It's a remarkable collection of the jolly craicsters' high jinks. I'm sorry I can't post this properly.
  25. Don't be taken in by the press sensationalism. I also read that there were 9 arrested at the nearby Southampton division 1 game and the local rag made no big deal about it. I don't hear of the scummer support flogging themselves over it as we seem to do.
