  1. I think the bheasts have been doing a remarkably good job themselves. I can't wait for their next installment of "hide the sausage", the sausage in this case being their joke attempts at being any kind of challenge. Refs, Establishment, pitches, refs again. For the past 2 days we've been treated to ex player Lube Moreofafatcheque in town for yet more platitudes. They are kidding no-one !
  2. I think Jim White enjoyed it as well.

    Your Call

Did you here the one about all the referees met in a Masonic Hall at the start of the season to decide that We were to win the league today, and, they were all wearing bowler hats !!!!!
  4. There is a landfill site outside Irvine. and every time I pass it I am reminded of "the essence of celtic"
  5. Was it that important that they visited McGregor 2 days before the most important Old Firm match of the season in the middle of the last full training session ? McGregor is hardly a madman on the loose. Does anyone expect them to visit Ibrox 5 minutes before kick off on Sunday ?
  6. I wonder how the investigation in to the petrol bombing of Beasley's car is coming along ?
  7. Some of the tim players' mouths seem to be far bigger than their brains.
  8. He is also an employee.
  9. Looks like thay have signed their very own Bertie Bombscare. I predict much fun and laughter for all visitors down the kingdom of the bheasts. Wonder what " Jos kicks with the other foot " means.
  10. Greegs' burd will hunt her down like a dog !
  11. Happy days.
  12. The Aberdeen "ultas" were at Rugby Park recently and I didn't hear any abuse. Mind you, there were only 9 of them !!!
  13. Did Scotland not lose a goal like that against the Tallys at hampden a few years ago ?
  14. To "blindly accept" a proposal without knowing anything about the proposer is indeed madness. What I'm saying is that we now know Duffy has disclosed quite a bit about himself and his business dealings therfore leaving himself open to close scrutiny. We have to accept that every successful businessman will have had setbacks and will have cut corners on occasion (business acumen ?). The fact is that he's real, he's ready, he's a fan, his proposals seem fairly sound, and we need sorted out as soon as possible. Oh, and by the way, I'm not an employee of his.
  15. M F Duffy appears to talk the talk alright but unless we start trusting prospective "rescuers", no-one will ever get the chance to walk the walk. Can I add that I was "taught to be cautious", but on this occasion after weighing up all that's been said so far concerning the openness of Duffy, especially when comparing him with "smoke and mirrors" specialist SDM, we should treat him with a feeling of optimism.
  16. Duffy has appeared to be open about his recent business dealings due to quite invasive questioning. Is it any wonder that other "consortium" members wish to remain anonymous for the moment. There must come a time when we have to start trusting anyone who has come forward to help the Club. I read somewhere recently that Jesus Christ was interested in buying into Rangers. However many supporters were suspicious of his motives and thought he had a hidden agenda. His religious connections in Palestine, his 12 "associates" etc. It was even claimed he only wore sandals with a long semmit and also was a "miracle worker" He would solve all our problems and make us happy but still he had some doubters. You get the picture. I might be naive but I think Duffy should be encouraged at this stage and not treated with as much suspicion. I would like to think our business lawyers, bankers, regulators and even SDM would ensure that anyone's proposals are in the best interests of the Club for now, and for the future. I personally believe that a deal has been signed, sealed and awaits deliverance when you consider some events over the past few months. For example Murray stepping down when he did, Johnston shoed in, no transfer expenditure pre season, coaching staff contracted to January (half way through the season just doesn't make sense) Murray has also said for some time that the Club was up for sale and I believe his "exit strategy" was put in place at least 2 years ago. By the way, I can't remember Dermot Desmond's business credentials being under such scrutiny when he bought in to "them."
  17. Been saying this for some time now because it's bleedin' obvious. No Boyd, no title, no Cl cash. Very simples.
  18. Why was my thread removed today ?
  19. Would you tolerate us trying to play football but being beaten constantly, possibly relegated, winning no competitions and generating no money because we can't qualify for Europe. You may tolerate it but I'll bet 99% of the support would find it rather difficult. We can't keep trying different managers, that costs money. Look at THEM in the east on their manager hunt, they ended up settling for their sixth choice because nobody wants to manage them, and he's manna from heaven as far as we are concerned. We,re £30m in debt, bank is a knockin', no owner and our manager is past it. You say feck all this as long as we TRY to play football. I only wish we could ! Get real my friend. Maybe one day, but not for a few years yet I'm afraid.
  20. Just about all the things said about Walter Smith, positive and negative, are probably true and difficult to argue with. This Champs League campaign, home games only, has lacked the commitment required by the players to achieve decent results and any kind of onfield leadership was non-existent. Maybe Barry Ferguson is missed after all as I am certain he would not have let such capitulations occur. No-one has stepped up to take such responsibility. However as someone said earlier, it is WS who is responsible for putting the Team out on the park and therefore I suppose the blame lies at his door. By the way, has anyone thought that it might be the format of the CL that Smith cannot handle, that is the "league" set up where you have to try and win every game. Go back to the UEFA run 2 years ago. All ties were home and away. How many times were we 0-0 at home only to go away and sneak a win as the other team felt almost obliged to open up and attack us. Just a thought.
  21. Prozac actually !!! Try it until we're in safe hands !
  22. Cheer up ffs and think positive in the meantime. Wait until we see what happens before we give any kind of prediction. After all, who wants to buy into a club with a shower of crabit, miserable and hard to please supporters all chanting "we're doomed, we're doomed".
  23. Great research MF.
  24. We've been headed this way for some time now and last night was, in my opinion, the last time we will be ashamed of our team's performance in Europe. I actually feel relieved that there are no more European home games this season. I do think he will revert to defensive tactics in Seville however, so we can bow out with a decent result. Let me say, especially to DJ, that I have never been a fan of Walter Smith but he does have many "admirable" qualities necessary to be a Rangers Manager. However I have never felt confident with his ability to have the team play well and succeed in Europe. Let's be honest, we did carry a fair bit of luck in order to reach Manchester. For several years now the cracks have had a habit of being continually papered over and now the game is up. In my opinion, we are now going to enter another "New Era" and I feel positive that we are going to have an exciting few years. Smith was the right man at the right time for us when all things are considered. After wee Dick's departure it was very clear that things were going to change very much for the worse in financial matters and, consequentially, player quality. To cut our cloth accordingly so to speak. Smith's cautious approach with accent on the defensive rather than the offensive style of play made it a more effective way for our cut-price team to play. He did the same at Scotland, it's easier to defend with inferior players than risk opening up offensively. Just value the players who we played against, and beat, on the European run. I don't think it right to be over critical of Smith. He brought success on many occasions but I too think he's past it and the time is now right for him to go, but not before things have been settled on the ownership front.
  25. Hey Mr. DJ, I find you comments quite shallow and with little thought about the reality of Rangers F. C. 2009 Let me explain. Firstly, believe it or believe it not, I am not a great fan of Walter Smith's capabilities as a coach especially when playing in Europe. Mind you having said that, 2 seasons ago he got us to a European final by using the right tactics to suit the right players, as well as competing to the bitter end of another 3 competitions. Sure he has brought in some diddies but who amongst us knew they would turn out so. Every manager has bought some duds now and again. If I remember about this time last year, many posters on here, myself included, were calling for his head. Last season we went on to be successful against all our expectations. Tonight's performance was poor, but did you really expect anything else ? Smith is now clearly knackered but he must be respected for the work he has done over the years for us. He returned from the cushy Scotland job where he had taken our Country to our highest ever ranking in order to steady us. Sure he is, and never, was an attack minded manager. He played to his strenghts which was to be cautious and rarely take risks. In other words, a steady manager who has suited our Club over the past few years and even more so now when "they" tell us our Club could face administration. Flamboyant he ain't. Personally I hope Walter moves to the Board once any takeover business has been concluded and we move forward with a more exciting management team with better finances.
