If Johnston knows something detrimental to Whyte's plans, then why does he not speak up. Is it lies, rumour, facts or unsubstantiated facts ? He must speak up or shut up imo.

I am concerned that we will eventually suffer. If things continue the way they've been going this season, celtic fc will be closed down within the next few years.

A pre-emptive strike to counter any proposed SFA action concerning the disgrace at the recent Hearts game perchance.

I do hope Plod reads Leggo and manages to trace some of the crackpots posting in.

Celtic fan jailed for racist jibe at El Hadji Diouf
biggordy replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Disagree totally with prison sentence. A formal apology and some kind of appropriate community service surely would have sufficed. (cleaning the ibrox lavvies before, during and after the next home game against celtic perhaps) -
Come on everyone ! Have a wee drink with me. Here's to the future and a new era...............cheers everybody !!!!

I do agree Frankie, but this has been dragging on now for at least 6 months has it not ? All relevant questions have been answered. The Bank is happy, SDM, or the major shareholder as he is also known, is happy. There are no others interested and CW could have walked away several times, even having spent over £500000 on the bid so far. At what point do we all say, ok Mr. Whyte, you now have our loyal support and we accept you have our Club's best interests at heart. I do not want our Club to be divided in any way whatsoever with some trusting him and some not. I've had enough of that with smoke 'n' mirrors SDM. If all the support is united then anything can be possible and I really want harmony within the support. Rant over, anyway, I'm off to annexe Poland before teatime.

I say we should welcome him to the Club with open arms. Look at all major Clubs and their "owners" How many would you fully trust to run your Club ? What are their motives ? Who knows ? Do you think Man City fans worry about their owners suddenly bailing out ? Maybe if and when it happens that can be addressed, but what a ride they are having at the moment. At least Craig Whyte is a fan, whereas many EPL Club owners look on ownership as a way to simply make profit from a hobby or shift debts about (anyone for Glazers or SDM ?) Maybe he just wants the Club he supports reach the heights of Europe as well as turn a shilling or two in the process, has anyone mentioned that prospect as a motive ? Then, we're all winners are we not ! I'm really scunnered with all the negative talk. I think we should all be bursting with excitement at what the future might bring so let's not chase him away ffs.

I think the phrase was "starting to become a legend" "Legends" have to start somewhere. For example, Papac rarely comes out with much and he's been here a few seasons now.. a steady player but not legend status imo.
-
That kinda was my point. The more folk read it, the bigger the tit he'll become.
-
So what if I give him "hits", big deal. I want as many people as possible to read his articles and see him for what he is.

I don't know about you chaps, but this ghiolla bhain individual could slowly be turning me into a bigot. His lies, conjecture, accusations and lack of any objectivity whatsoever, coupled with the fact that there are people who buy into his stuff and take it on, could be turning me into a hater of "Irish Catholics" His website is so full of "tales" about our Club, it shows up the "offensive singing" complaint as merely just another rant and really nothing as important as the media would have us all believe. The website is also a continous rant about anti Irish/Catholic racism in Scotland. Apparently Irish/Catholics cannot even walk down any street in Scotland without being attacked...that's the last time I keep company with any of my friends of that persuasion, far too dangerous so it seems. Even the Church of Scotland and, would you believe, the Scottish Arts Council get a bit of a kicking. If you haven't read his site, see for yourself and make your own minds up. http://www.philmacgiollabhain.com/ I appeal to you all, on behalf of myself and all my ashamed "Irish/Catholic" friends, please play Mr. Bhain at his own game; use the internet to contact everyone you know, your MP, MSP, and the Scottish Government to mention just a few, to get this bigot shut down before he turns us all against the entire Irish Race.
-
This clown bhain needs taken down. This week I've been e-mailing various parties informing them of this anti-Scottish individual and what he is saying. One of the responses from Brian Donohoe MP agrees that this should be looked at. I suggest everyone takes this tack and mail their MP, MSPs and anyone else they can think of. ( at the moment MSPs are in limbo as their is no Parliament, they are however "opening their mail" ) If many of us do this then we'll surely get a fair hearing.

Frankie, do you, or does anyone else, know of the legal stand point regarding rumours detrimental to the Club's future ? Surely some of these rumours, myths and downright lies only serve to de-stablise our financial standing and aggravate the fans. When you consider such delicate matters as Stock market rules etc. and the £millions involved then this type of mis-information must be illegal. Cheers Gordy.

Sectarianism in Scotland - The Simpleton's Solace
biggordy replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Sectarianism/bigotry or whatever handle you want to put on it, is merely a self perpetuating myth. The more oxygen it has, the greater the "problem" would seem to be. Unfortunately, there are those, who, for some reason only known to themselves, are driven to keep the pot boiling. Without having their "quotes" or "experiences" publicised, they are nothing. Even though very little can be corroborated there is always some media outlet more than happy to spread more "terrible" news. The more any anti- Rangers/celtic, or Protestant/Catholic news items there are, the more resentment and aggravation builds up and floods out at the following coming together of each "representative" football team. There are individuals who use this as an excuse for violence, but I think these people are simply violent anyway and add religious differences as a kind of justification for their actions. "They made me do it" kind of defence. I believe the solution is simple but difficult to achieve. Stop reporting anything regarded as "sectarian" especially when it can be regarded as frivolous in nature. Singing is a prime example. How many casualties have there been due to nasty songs ? I guess not many. Would it be fair to suggest that the more offended certain folk become, the more "offensive" songs will be sung by the other side ? Difficult to achieve due to freedom of speech and information. This could be circumvented as, in my opinion. It is religious aggravation and those making such "reports" should be taken to task by the authorities. The perpetrators of such actions should be charged with wasting Police time at the very least. It seems to me there are only a few who actually make offended noises on a regular basis. Sean Mclean, Prestwick- someone who has been proved to be a serial liar, McGobbler from Ireland _ God alone knows why he is fixated with Protestants and Rangers Football Club- I think he should be psychiatrically evaluated before he harms someone. Mr Graham Spiers - who is a only a grasping "journo" nutter with means of access to the press. The lesser ones only hang on to the coat tails of these individuals and regurgitate the titbits of nonsense they have been thrown, believing they "helping the cause", whatever that is. Two analogies. How do you stop bullying etc ? Ignore it and the bully will stop, would seem a good way forward. We all remember "streakers" This is quite uncommon now and that is due to the TV companies being told to ignore it and turn their cameras away so as not to publicise it or give others the idea.- 31 replies
