  1. It is just an eye catching headline to attract all their timmy friends....big picture, instantly recognisable former player, few big words. Similar to how schools teach small children how to read. Very poor and lazy on all fronts, especially on the day the new season begins. This "paper" gets "wurser and wurser" (probable language used by most of their readership)
  2. Curious, no ?
  3. Did Miller sign for cardiff today as predicted ?
  4. I wonder what his wages will be ? Just wondering as relegated Blackpool's were 10k maximum last season.....in the EPL ! I also wonder what Miller thinks about playing for a middle of the road Championship team ? Will he sign ?
  5. Are we now being stalked by Cardiff City instead if the tims. They seem to be tracking our transfer targets and filling their team full of Scots. I wonder if they'll do a "Middlesbrough" and end up fighting for relegation.
  6. Sounds like chikki is starting the new season with a new attitude. I wonder if it's due to his arch nemesis, Walter, being no longer in the hot seat. Does anyone actually know how many new arseholes WS tore chic during theyears as Rangers' manager ?
  7. Does anyone know when the EPL Clubs announce their 25 man squads ?
  8. I agree about the "settled side" bit. It was obvious to everyone but mobray and lemmon that it was a strength we had, mainly due to the lack of funds rather than good judgment perhaps. However, we still have the nucleus of our League winning team, we've not had a clearout like timmy. At least lemmon's learned something from Walter. Or mibbes their huge squad can't accommodate any more. Remember we won the League without having a top striker for half the season, Miller left and Jelavic was long time injured. Jela starts this one, and if we add only a couple of first teamers there is no doubt in my mind we will win again.
  9. Carlos must surely be already aware of the Ibrox pay structure.
  10. Sorry, meant to say "fee agreed with Villa"
  11. Apparently a fee has been agreed with Carlos. Great news, he has now to agree personal terms.
  12. Possibly waiting for the EPL Clubs finalising their "25" with a view to loaning a few imo. The 2 Spurs boys for example. Today's press quoted Miller as wishing to return to "Britain" and significantly, not Scotland.
  13. In as much as I always want us to win every game we play in, no matter who, what, where.or when.
  14. Aye, it's like announcing that all Rangers' fans hope the Club has a good season.
  15. I thought he enjoyed a "wee wind up". I'm sure this is what he said after cupping his ears at Ibrox a few short months ago.
  16. Ally, if DG was as keen to come as has been reported, he surely would have made some effort to move things along, like put in a transfer request. If you had wanted a job badly enough you would have pulled out all the stops to make sure you got it, would you not ? Call me old fashioned but I like players who WANT to be at Rangers and would do anything to achieve their ambition. I'm not one for those who are motivated by cash, they tend to lack loyalty; Whittaker springs to mind. There is a marked difference between volunteers and mercenaries imo.
  17. By not asking his club for a transfer in order to break the "deadlock", Goodwillie has failed the first test in his desire to become a Rangers' player imo. Better he gets lifted in Cardiff instead of Glasgow.
  18. Oh dear, how sad, never mind. Time to move on. Kenny Miller, top scorer, experienced internationalist moved on for £600,000 on his final year. Wallace, not a goalscorer and certainly not an experienced internationalist. They want £3m for him in his final year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He MIGHT become a top player, that's why there are "sell on fees" To pay more than £300,000 for him is absolute nonsense imo. If he wants to come then he will have to make a transfer request or wait until next season. No more stupid million pound bids for this player.
  19. I would love to know what AM's thinking is on this one. Is Thompson just trying to save face for his support ? Has Goodwillie said he's going nowhere but us ?
  20. What a waste of everyone's time and energy. What kind of folk do we have making these proclamations ? Another "big idea" from our devolved Parliament, does someone get paid to come out with these things. Gawd help us.
  21. His first month has a been rather uninspiring lmo.
  22. Well done everyone who lobbied for this Bill to be halted. Did anyone note the "outrage" at John Lamont MSP when he had the temerity to say that segregated schooling might have played a part in in recent sectarian issues. So much for free speech, even within Parliament; those shown on TV who appeared to be most "offended" being Roseanna Cunningham and Jim Murphy MP, both well known to be pro-active in Catholic issues. For voicing his opinion he is now being pressured to resign his post. Is this a Democratic or Fascist response ?
  23. I don't think we can be any more than disappointed with Whittaker. He's been a good asset to the Club, although he is/was prone to the odd abhorration. However, if he wants to move on then we should say thank you for the part played in the past few years and wish him all the best for the future. I do not much care for those who are solely motivated by cash, but I do think every decent footballer deserves a period of top dollar at least once in his career. I want players who are motivated by success first and cash second.
  24. Could we be missing the point here ? I would like to think(hope) our politicians are not that stupid to introduce such an un-democratic piece of legislation. For several years now, certain individuals have been bleating about the most tenous of connections leading them to be "sorely offended". So much so that the rolling snowball of the "sorely offended" has grown and grown with retalitory claims of being counter offended playing a huge part in the increase. "Playing an imaginary flute", "blessing himself on the football field" the "hokey cokey" flying the Union Jack; these are examples where people claim to be offended, or mock offended, as they really are. (I felt embarrassed when lennon was reported to the police for gesturing at the last Ibrox match, a fine example of tit for tattery mock offence) Everyone knows these folk have not been remotely offended, it's merely been a subtle attack on one institution or another by playing the sympathy card. Those who claim to have been offended have used this era of political correctness to attack others with something which can't be proved or disproved, how to you measure degrees of "offence" ? I'm a middle aged chap and if I stop and think about it, I am probably offended by hundreds of things from inconsiderate drivers to Lady Gaga. Just because I am offended, do I ask the police to do something about them insisting they are arrested and gaoled ? Of course not, other folk aren't too bothered about such matters. Same goes with football and religion. If you're offended by certain things, stay away. I accept that people like Lady effin Gaga, so I stay away from her gigs or refrain from watching her on TV. Why should football and Religion be any different. I don't impose my likes and dislikes on others insisting that THEY have to change. Freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I would expect any appeal to the European Court of Human Rights would have plenty to say about the loss of these freedoms in Scotland. Anyway, sorry for ranting on chaps but this "offended" thing has gone on for far too long imo.
