  1. I said it earlier, our away form resembles that of a bottom six side. That's exactly what we look like tonight.
  2. Opposition managers and players must chuckle when they see Tav leading us out and Dessers and Lawrence up top. We're easy prey.
  3. My ...erm stream seems to have given up. Probably just as well, by the sounds of things. All I saw was Dessers miss a good chance.
  4. That would be a blow.
  5. @Rousseaupointed out a few days ago that the problems we face domestically (mainly due to the low block) don't occur in Europe. I agree with this, to an extent. However, our results against the scum somewhat invalidate it.
  6. I was referring to the Scottish Cup final (Wallace, 1-0). Get your point re: their shame game (I couldn't get a ticket).
  7. I'm hoping to see Hagi at some point but other than that, don't expect any curve balls from Clement. It's never easy up there - we just have to hope our squad are up for it and we can take our chances. 🇬🇧
  8. True and I would never criticising anyone for taking your stance. Some of the evenings on that run were terrific - great times. A weird one for me is us winning the treble against that lot in '99. You'd think that would be up there - I was at the match and can't remember being particularly excited when we won. I think a lot of it boils down to expectations: we fully expected to beat them that day, whereas none of us expected to overcome Dortmund in '22. Back to the here and now though, I still think Gerrard's decision to hold on to the bulk of the 55 squad was a bad one.
  9. Yes, the team do seem to have done so, given yet another hiding at the Piggery, another loss at Kilmarnock and a raft of abject performances. One goal away from home in four matches.
  10. If we had beaten Eintracht Frankfurt, it would be no contest.
  11. I can't agree. We have actually assisted Celtc lord it over us for the foreseeable future (with our coefficient points), which is horrifying. I spoke to a yahoo a few days ago who told me he's getting bored with how easy it is for them. Just like our Scottish Cup semi final win in 2016, I find it quite easy to dismiss these potentially great memories when ultimately, we fail to pick up the trophy.
  12. In terms of playing and coaching staff, the two big mistakes were not taking advantage of the squad after 55 and appointing Beale. Both will continue to cost us money for a while yet. One can only hope lessons have been learned.
  13. I base my expectations on reality. The reality is our away form has been really, really poor for most of 2024, including losses at Ross County and Kilmarnock, as well as draws at Dundee and Hearts (all of whom are worse than Aberdeen on current form). Our current squad don't have a good record in big matches or when the going gets tough. At least this way I won't get too disappointed and a win would be a real treat. 🙂
  14. It all hinges on the player trading model. Another Bassey or Patterson would make a big difference.
  15. I'm assuming anyone thinking we'll win tomorrow hasn't watched us play any domestic away matches for several months? Our away form is like a bottom six side.
  16. Interim managers were only in place for a match or two before new managers came in, post-Murty. Man Utd will have Van Nistelrooy in charge for a similar period, by the looks of it. Of all the things to have a go at the board about, this is a weak one.
  17. Probably because it wasn't offside.
  18. There's not a cat in Hell's chance the sheep are winning the league. The yahoos will win it at a canter. We just need to focus on each match as it comes and not worry about the rest.
  19. Yeah, I'm aware of the reasoning - I'm just stating my opinion.
  20. I think Barron does a cracking job and Raskin is similar but neither is a creative player. Diamonde started well but has definitely gone off the boil and has been a passenger recently. Lawrence isn't very good. Dowell is a waste of space. Hagi or Bajrami should be playing at No.10.
  21. First half we were really bad. Second half we looked much better but still aren't nearly clinical enough and seem to invite nervy endings more often than not. Our midfield creates virtually nothing. I have very little confidence in us even getting a point at Pittodrie, which is bloody depressing.
  22. I take it Hagi is suspended for this one? I'd prefer to see Bajrami tried in the No.10 position. Maybe get Lovelace on the left.
  23. This thread must contain the first instance of anyone from Hawick being accused of "big city chic". I'll be sure to tell the folks next time they visit. 🤣
  24. Brave words on an anonymous messageboard. Let's hear about or see your outfits, Mr Bigstuff. 😃 For the record, I'm quite satisfied that double denim is timeless and cool, as long as you can pull it off. Which I can't because I'm an ugly git but that's besides the point.
