It's one standing position where there would currently be a seat. The regulations in the UK will differ from those in Germany, probably as a result of disasters that have occurred at UK football stadiums. There's no way Rangers will charge extra for those standing, in my view. As it would generally be younger people who wish to stand, they'll probably have less money and as such, that would have a detrimental affect on the whole thing. Hopefully the board want to go ahead with this and realise the atmosphere can be improved with a standing section....although I suspect they're just paying lip-service to it and we're discussing something that has no chance of going ahead.

The atmosphere at Ibrox isn't very good. Even for big matches you only hear a couple of songs (excluding BF1).

There's a wee bit more freedom to stand where you want in standing sections. Younger people seem to prefer standing and when you get a bit older you prefer to have a seat. I'm thinking of the future and the younger lads who go on my bus would all absolutely love a safe standing section. If you want to sit, there'll still be around 45k seats to choose from. A standing section will only hold 2-5k, so you can even sit far away from them is the noise is too stressful. It's important we try to improve the atmosphere at Ibrox because it is like a library these days and several thousand yahoos turn up twice a season and have a party with most of us sitting on our hands. Not good enough.
-
I think most of us are aware there won't be a return to old style terracing and only safe standing will be permitted.
-
So you want to sit, so everyone else has to sit? I really don't get why anyone would be against this. I much prefer standing at a match - loved some of the lower league games, as it felt like the old days and was generally more fun. I understand people don't want to stand but why impose that on everyone (particularly when over 50 RSCs have backed safe standing)? And I never wanted all-seater stadiums, so it has nothing to do with what goes on at the Piggery.

The rules outlawing certain songs/words aren't being adhered to either.

I know there have been some instances of smoke bombs but have Rangers fans EVER let a flare off at Ibrox? I haven't seen one. And the smoke bombs are usually seen at away games, I can't really think of many instances of them being set off by Bears at Ibrox. Safe standing has the potential to make the atmosphere far better for the thousands who regularly attend. It's a priority because we surely want youngsters to come to the match and have a good day out - that way, they'll come back and bring their mates along.

We're all entitled to our opinions, John. I don't share yours about McCoist and there are quite a few like me in that regard. -

It's a shame he didn't admit his own management was a contributory factor in our current status. I'd look the other way if I passed McCoist in the street. -
Good news from Club1872 and the club. Safe standing can only have a positive effect on the atmosphere and as so many RSCs back it, I see no reason why any Bear would be against it. Hopefully it happens in the near future.

Lambert and Morelos would be a good front two. -
Souness and Dalglish were up there.

Agreed. I'd give it to Jack.

Football is fast becoming NFL - just a playground for rich people, watched by tourists and gullible people with half and half scarves and a tonne of merchandise. Everything the was great about going to the football - the tribalism, the community - it's all dying out.

Does Zwarte Piet know where the game will be played?

I just noticed we play AZ Alkmaar away on 17 Oct. I have a Dutch pal who is an AZ fan - I quite fancy a trip over for it. Anyone know the story with where it will be played? I'd be less keen if it's just a field somewhere.
-
Same here. Used to really love Scotland but now I don't even watch them. I'm not one for wanting them to lose - just not interested.

I went to watch this match in Edinburgh today. Linfield won 2-1 and it was a fairly even match, although Linfield deserved the victory. The Linfield fans seemed a good bunch - a wee bit of anti-Glentoran banter and the usual repertoire. I did notice a couple of younger lads wearing Tim tops in amongst the home fans ...they just can't help themselves. Decent afternoon at the football though.

It's up to Pena himself and to a lesser extent PC to get the best out of him. All we can do is hope. If he does what we hope, I think we have a cracking midfield on our hands.

I like Dodoo - clever player - and hope he does well down there. -

Jack is a tidy midfielder. Unremarkable but when you actually watch what he's doing, he does it well. Halliday was fairly useless a lot of the time. I have no idea what his preferred position is. -

I think we are far better off after the window. Particularly in midfield and defence. -
