My wife is foreign and can't vote in General Elections but we have a young son, so she is obviously interested in how the country is run. My argument stems from what you mean by deprived. There are different ways to deprive someone of something. You can forcefully take a plate of mince'n'tatties off someone to deprive them or you can also make it disgusting (adding an ingredient you know they don't like), so they won't eat it and thus depriving them of the meal they want. This is a bit of a daft argument and has nothing to do with the thread.

Same here. I remember that spell when we didn't win in 11 games or thereabout. One of those was a 1-1 draw at Livvy and it's the most bored I have ever been at a match. McLeish worked wonders with the team Advocaat left him. As soon as he started bringing his own players in it all went tits up. We don't have De Boers and the like in the team these days, like we did when McLeish won the treble.

Depends how you define your disenfranchisement. I'd say if no parties represent your political views, you are stripped of any power within the political system. I just vote for the party most likely to overcome the SNP or spoil my ballot.

The SNP and Labour are full to the brim with them.

I'm pretty sure we don't have the funds to get Van Bronckhorst or to fund what he'd want to spend on transfers.
