  1. So we don't know if the guy made more comments then. The Police are looking into it anyway, so we can all rest easy.
  2. That was what the guy said on the footage made public. Carragher said he made other comments before that. The Police have contacted the driver because filming whilst driving is not allowed. The Police have not yet contacted Carragher. Read into that what you will.
  3. Good luck to the guy involved and anyone else who complains. I'd fully back banning them from Ibrox. Alas, I doubt it'll happen for reasons already discussed. Their celebrations after victories at Ibrox these days seem more inflammatory than our huddle at their ground years ago. Yet they get free reign to do as they please. That gets my goat far more than the firecrackers.
  4. Oh well, expect more firecracker, smoke bombs and 90 minute provofests at Ibrox and don't blame me.
  5. Members are perfectly entitled to contact Club1872 with any concerns they have, Bill. Let's blame a Rangers supporters group, who seem to want the Tims to get a lesser allocation, for the Tims throwing firecrackers at Ibrox. Count me out.
  6. Sevilla win 2-1 at Old Trafford. After a rather depressing weekend of football, that cheered me up a wee bit.
  7. I did make a valid suggestion about what the club could do. They won't though. I still can't get my head around Bears who want to go to that cesspit, The Piggery. That's part of the problem because the club won't act as it will lessen our presence at the Theatre of Shame.
  8. Club1872's job isn't to ensure safety of people inside Ibrox Stadium. That's the job of the Police, the stewards and the Scottish government (stop laughing at the back). A firecracker is unlikely to kill anyone, although it could cause hearing damage. The simplest solution is to give the scum less seats, by having a larger space between the two sets of fans. I'll say it again, charge them more for their tickets to cover any lost revenue and if they moan, tell them to blame their pals who flung firecrackers. And just to clarify, firecrackers are the ones that sound like a gunshot, smoke bombs are the ones that let off loads of (usually coloured) smoke and flares are the things they set off on boats lost at sea.
  9. The Police don't film them like they do here. Members of the UBs got visits from the Police over the weekend too.
  10. Clubs all over Europe have them. We'd probably have one even if the yahoos didn't. I had a drink in the HSV Fanhaus in Hamburg and the Ultras there were very accommodating with my wife and I but they do similar marches, have pyro displays and all the sing-songs etc. The Germans seem to enjoy it. We're awfully sensitive in the UK nowadays. Perenially offended on behalf of everyone else. Life's too short.
  11. Goss had a poor match and was partly at fault for the third. I wouldn't drop him but that's two matches against sides with decent midfields (Hibs and Celtc) where he's been largely anonymous. Which is why I don't get the clamour to sign him.
  12. You've missed my point entirely, Darther. As for Ultras.... ultra [uhl-truh] adjective going beyond what is usual or ordinary; excessive; extreme. noun an extremist, as in politics, religion, fashion, etc.
  13. The cuddly wuddly Rangers support? That'll have the Tims quaking in their Primark trainers. The press and half of Scotland have us all down as rabid bigots anyway. I doubt a few party hats, congas and smiling toddlers would change that.
  14. Windass practically jumped out of Rogic's way before he scored the equaliser. And that's exactly why he's someone I don't have much time for.
  15. The nicer we get, the more Tims lord it over us, love coming to Ibrox and we are continually mocked by the Scottish press. The "Sorry Sir, won't do it again." approach hasn't really worked. I'd prefer it we we became a bit angrier and more in their faces (within legal boundaries, obviously), if I'm honest. The UB march is just a young lads' attempt to do just that.
  16. I'd tell both of them they're close to being dropped unless they 'up their game'.
  17. We've muddled through a good 50 years of both of those.
  18. Having been a regular on supporters buses and trains with Bears on the way to and from matches for over 30 years, I can confirm that our standards can be pretty low, so trying to claim we're all upstanding examples of mankind is just ridiculous. The march walked right past me on Sunday and there were a few older ones but they mainly looked about 15-20. Lads in their late teens are always going to be a bit wide, rebellious, loud-mouthed and bloody annoying at times - that's life. I'd love to know what horrors have befallen us all as a result of this march? Please don't include a couple of bad press articles, cos we'd get those after a match against them regardless if we all turned up and offered them a bouquet of roses for their mums and gave a £10 donation to a charity of Billy McNeil's choice. Don't kid yourselves otherwise. If anything, I'd expect the bad press and slightly hysterical reactions from some Rangers supporters to spur the UBs on to do it again...and to get more support.
  19. As an assistant referee, he is supposed to tell the referee what he's seen, particularly if he thinks the referee didn't have as good a view as he did. If he didn't, it'd be negligence.
  20. How do you know what was said? Carragher said he wound him up four times and only one was caught in the footage made public.
  21. I think it's a wee bit harsh on Carragher. He was very stupid to react that way but his team lost to their most hated rivals and he's deliberately taunted and filmed whilst driving home. He should've told the driver to F off - spitting was beyond idiotic. But people should be entitled to some privacy on their way home from work.
  22. We should give them half the Broomie and leave the other half empty. And charge them £100 a ticket. Sorted.
  23. Were they fighting about what constitutes a new club?
  24. Folk fighting after a Rangers v Celtc match? Well, I never.
  25. Most folk in the real world couldn't give a toss about a daft Ultra march. At work today, only the football and the result was discussed. The press paint us in a bad light most days anyway. Mountains and molehills spring to mind.
