I sense a contradiction. I reckon we'd take low offers for a couple of them, to get them off the wage bill and to ensure they don't walk away for free in a year or two. We'll only know when the window closes.

You'd have to be utterly delusional to think we're getting rid of them all but our support is full of delusional nutters, who love a good moan, so there's no chance of total realisation or acceptance of it.

He's hardly likely to tell the interviewer he can't wait to get rid of them. I'd imagine he'd love to completely transform the squad during this window and the 'Rome' comments are merely to placate and lower the expectations of the support. Managers and players have to lie to the press, it's all part of the job.

Those were just rumours. We really need to shift a few players and time is of the essence.

Spain have been by far the best side throughout the tournament but that doesn't mean they'll win it. I think how Kane is used will have a big bearing on it (if Southgate goes with Toney or Watkins, England stand a far better chance of winning). If England win, the likes of Lineker and Wright will be unbearable but on the flipside, especially after last week's SNP drubbing, just imagine how depressed it will make Scottish Nationalists feel.

I'd probably wait until after the first game to gauge how the standing goes. The views are so bad in the two ends, I suspect a lot of people will stand up initially - how it goes from there, only time will tell.
