He's the only fit striker we have, which isn't funny. He's the only striker I've ever seen who, when in a one on one situation with a goalie, I'm absolutely certain won't score.

I think it is, in the circumstances. How do you suggest we should have shifted the deadwood earlier, in order to fund bigger transfers? Pay them off? Threaten their families? We can't get rid of enough players due to poor decisions made by previous management.

Aye, I think you might be right. But if we're 'in transition', the focus is the medium/long term, not the next match. All the posters saying we were good for the first 35 minutes - I thought we were very average. Dinamo Kiev aren't very good either. Christ, half the team are playing poorly.

Maybe none were available. Maybe it's better to bring in a good player who will take a couple of weeks to be ready than just bringing anyone ego might be immediately available.

If Dessers was as good at football as he was at remonstrating with the referee or diving about needlessly, he'd be worth £100m. Lawrence, Wright, Tav, Yilmaz and Doimande have all been rubbish.
