It’s everything we saw in his tenure at Rangers. Weak, insecure, shallow, pretentious. Of all the managers we’ve had, Beale and Caixinha were rock bottom. I hope we never see their like again.
His first nine games and indeed the whole of last season is fairly irrelevant, perhaps apart from his two defeats to Celtic at Hampden. It was his summer reconstruction of the playing squad that revealed his inadequacy, quickly confirmed as the season started. There was little justification waiting until the beginning of October to sack him.
Only he wasn't in the least bit consistent yesterday.
I thought there were only three real candidates - Cantwell, Souttar and Tavernier. I voted for Cantwell as pretty much the only real spark of creativity.
It's just Levein being what Levein has always been ...... sour, miserable bastard. Anyway, he says these things for the ears in his own dressing room, no one else.
I’ve never been fully able to make my mind up about Waddell. He clearly did wonderful things for our club but there were certainly times when his thrawn side held us back.
Would’ve, could’ve, should’ve. The cold hard reality is that corner kicks have been all but worthless to us and we remain somewhat fragile to crosses into our own penalty box.
You have point but corners force you possession to the corner flag with only one possible direction of travel whereas a more central starting point would offer the attacking team freedom of options. Anyway I’m just thinking out loud, it’s not a considered suggestion but corners are essentially a waste of time.
Beyond everything else is a better penalty box striker but until then we could start with vastly improved crosses, most of which are just appalling and almost never produce end product.
