  1. He needs to give himself a good shake or he won't be playing many games for Leeds.
  2. I've seen a handful or so great Rangers players over the years. Glen Kamara wasn't one of them. He was effective for a spell. Then he wasn't. Now he's gone.
  3. I think what you say is true enough but it's actually a little incomplete. What we're looking for isn't immediate perfection and a never-ending run of victories in domestic and European competition, that would be unrealistic. It's more a clear sense of direction and progress that offers some prospect of being a better and more successful club. I wasn't at all surprised we lost to PSV, in fact I predicted as much in the GPL. What has contributed to a growing sense of concern is the realisation that I can see little or no actual evidence of the improvement we all acknowledged was essential at the end of last season. Maybe if our manager occasionally explained where he was taking the club and what we should expect over the period, we might be better able to judge whether or not he was being realistic or not. We absolutely agree about the huge gulf in financial strength between us and Celtic but that should be an issue separate from our own progressive development. Maybe the world will look brighter if we beat Celtic on Sunday but I think serious observers know we need to do so on the basis of a more coherent and sustainable improvement on the park.
  4. We’re as one
  5. More of a wild guess than informed opinion I'm afraid.😉 I haven't heard if Barisic has any chance of being fit for Sunday.
  6. If only the selective past was a guide to the future in football. 🤣
  7. And some of us don't know what to think and most of us are simply reacting to what we see game by game. Anyone who isn't less optimistic after watching the game in Eindhoven is probably kidding themselves.
  8. I'd go for a little different up front..... Butland Tav - Souttar - Balogun - Sterling Jack Raskin - Cantwell Sima Roofe - Danilo
  9. After that defensive shit show against PSV and the dreadful midfield capitulation, do you make changes for Sunday? Do you just shrug and say "same again" or do you ring the changes? Does Goldson continue to be irreplaceable? Who replaces Barisic if he's injured and unavailable? Do you continue to select Raskin, who seems to have dramatically lost form? Who is our principle goal threat?
  10. The question that simply has to be addressed is why have so many new signings all failed to hit the ground running? As far as I can see only Jack Butland and perhaps Leon Balogun have shown any semblance of form or ability. How could this have happened? Based on the performances so far of Lammers, Danilo, Dessers, Sima, Dowell, Cifuentes and Sterling it's unlikely any club would pay money for their services. Did we sign the wrong players? Did we fail to do proper diligence? Who bears responsibility for the recruitment choices? Or did we sign credible players but have been unable or unwilling to settle any of them into a coherent system? How is it possible we could have spent so much money, signed so many players and delivered so little in the way of improvement? I don't think these are unreasonable questions. Given the start to the season we've witnessed, perhaps it's time Michael Beale was asked for his responses.
  11. I think we're still some distance from replacing Beale but if the time comes I'd endorse every word of that.
  12. Those were wonderful victories. Do you think we could repeat them today?
  13. Which DoF? 😉
  14. I didn't agree with getting rid of Colak, Hagi or Sakala but there's no way in hell I'd entertain the return of players who chose to leave.
  15. What did you say?
  16. I think that's slowly dawning on a lot of the Rangers support.
  17. It depends on whether or not we see some sense of progression and direction emerging but if the current mystifying situation continues into November then there's little point wasting more time with him. We've become a club that gambles on inexperienced managers - Warburton, Caixinha, Gerrard, Van Bronckhorst, Beale - and very little of it has come off. Personally, I'm struggling to see what has changed since last season, other than a suggestion we might actually have gone backwards.
  18. I'm now genuinely baffled where Beale is taking the club. I've no idea what his footballing vision is, what his primary objectives are or what his metrics are for assessing his own and the team's performance. Some of his tactical decision making is so opaque that I'm starting to worry he might not actually have a coherent plan and that he's simply been sheltering behind his predecessor's failure and a barrage of words. I hope I'm reading this wrong but if an amateur like me is becoming concerned, what's being said in the dressing room?
  19. So far, Jack Butland is the only summer signing who has actually improved the team.
  20. Btw, that was a catastrophically poor midfield performance this evening.
  21. Colak, Hagi, Sakala ...... replaced with what? Granted these players weren't world beaters and needed to be improved upon but from what I've seen so far they were at least as good as our current strike force
  22. Besides, it's not a question of criticising signing targets. It's about judging what they do on the field of play. The proof of the pudding .....
