It's not pleasant losing your heroes but Ally McCoist is dead to me. All the truly great things he did as a player were undone by his pocket-filling antics and his deceit and incompetence as a manager. Many will disagree and I've no problem with that but that's how I feel about him.

Alves has clearly had the greatest influence on the team, a team that couldn't defend a cross ball to save its life a few months ago.

What a wonderful story. -
You're right about the CB situation. At some point Alves is either going to be injured or simply need a rest and right now we would be severely weakened without him.

Bill Leckie - Rangers and Pedro Caixinha need a reality check

Having spent the best part of a lifetime working my balls off to build a business, I wish now I'd realised how easy it was to become a journalist in Scotland. Pulling a six figure salary for turning out contrived shite while half cut - I could have done that. -

I see these flares and smoke canisters being thrown on the pitch and my immediate reaction is ... "wanker".

Miller starting again. Oh dear. -
True ... but I didn't ask about its aims.

Try to calm down, I wasn't aware there was an "outside" and I'm certainly not sniping at anyone. I'm neither for nor against Club1872 and haven't given it much thought. Other than acquiring shares and the generality of fan ownership, I've more or less no idea what it's about. I only asked a question hoping to find out what specific projects it was pursuing and what tangible improvements supporters might expect to see accruing from its activities. So far no one has offered any information about this. Perhaps no one knows. I am slightly puzzled why people see a need to defend something that wasn't being attacked in the first place. I've no interest in attacking Club1872, or indeed praising it since, beyond the general aim of acquiring shares and representing its membership, it's unclear to me what it's trying to deliver in terms of specific deliverables. If this is a sensitive issue for some then I apologise and will happily return to my ignorance.
-
Yes, that's the sort of generalities that people sometimes to use to avoid committing to more accountable specifics. It doesn't say a thing about what benefits or improvements we as supporters can expect Club1872 to be pursuing ... or how they will measure the success or otherwise of their activities. Looks to me like there's been a nice rebranding exercise but nothing much has actually changed. Maybe someone can persuade me otherwise before I return to my state of ignorance.
-
After the frequent debacles of the old RST (does it still exist?) I became thoroughly disillusioned with the spectrum of supporter organisations and have paid almost no attention to the emergence of Club1872. Beyond the usual rhetoric, can anyone explain in plain language what Club1872 is actually doing and what we can expect from it over the next year or two?

Pedro Caixinha on why Michael O’Halloran WON’T be back at Ibrox
Bill replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
The only thing I need to know about MOH is that he contributed next to nothing every time he played for Rangers. What he does or doesn't do for other clubs is irrelevant to me. -
That's why it's 25/1

A fine idea if you're happy aspiring to be second best.
-
Yes we do but first we need to climb out of this pit of depressing failure. We can't afford the luxury of fucking around while Celtic are 39 points ahead of us in May.
-
I'm starting to be slightly concerned about Caixinha. I've always believed managers need to be given time to build a team and he's no different but there's a hint emerging of too many words, too few results. Hopefully he'll dispel these worries soon enough.
-
1. He's only on loan for 4 months and there's no guarantee he'll be available to extend his loan period beyond January 2. He may be brilliant but the chances of him getting a serious opportunity to displace an established player are remote. Or he may be shite. 3. How many loan players have become permanent signing, precious few. The better he does the less likely he'll want to remain in this cesspit league 4. At this stage in our recovery we need proven players, not speculation on the possibility that a rank novice might somehow surprise
-
Seems like an utterly pointless signing for me. We take on wages for four months with almost no chance of him influencing significantly the results we achieve over that period. I bet he doesn't play 6 games.
