  1. To be brutally honest, it's none of our business what personal priorities a player sets for himself and his family, whether it's money, location or whatever. Lack of ambition? Get real.
  2. Unless some of the existing shareholders either decline their pre-emotion rights at future share issues or sell directly to Club1872, its difficult to see how a 25% holding will ever be possible in the face of continuous dilution.
  3. It's no reflection on the service Miller has given the club in the past but I hope never to see him start a game again in a Rangers shirt.
  4. Very disappointing news about Ryan Jack. I thought he had been easily one of our best summer signings. Hopefully he'll make good progress with his recovery and be back sooner than expected.
  5. That will make him a lot goodwill. I have to say I love his natural enthusiasm, he could be a significant catalyst in the dressing room.
  6. Foderingham-8 Tavernier-8 Bates-7 Martin-7 John-7 Candeias-7 Goss-7 Holt-8 Windass-6 Murphy-7 Morelos-6 Subs:- Cummings-5 Halliday-5 Cardoso-5 MOTM - Tavernier by a whisker from Holt
  7. I made quite a few career moves on the basis of money. If I hadn’t needed the money I’d have sat on a beach somewhere warm and sunny. The point being that to disparage any player for wanting to improve his earnings is unfair and unrealistic. Are you going to pay his mortgage?
  8. He's a tremendous entertainer alright. I had a table in a club deck box for a number of years and Willie was our resident "host". Some of the performances he put on for us would challenge anything he did on the park!
  9. Happy birthday Willie Henderson. Far and away the best winger to play for Rangers in my lifetime.
  10. I despise the BBC from top to bottom. I hate its cloying politics. I hate its leftist bullshit and I hate its determination to influence public opinion rather than inform. However, the only place to hit the BBC is to join the campaign to abolish the licence fee. The BBC in its current form will never change, the only way to get it to respect the British public is to knock its financial crutch out from under it. What BBC Scotland do or don't do with respect to Rangers is so petty and ineffectual that it surprises me anyone even notices it any more. I really couldn't give a damn whether the BBC mentions Rangers in its reports or not. It really has no importance to how I feel about Rangers and it should have no importance to Rangers in relation to implementing a recovery plan. There are times when I even feel it's a backhanded compliment to be ignored by the BBC. Of course any outright lies should be challenged but surely we don't rely on kind word from the BBC to bolster our esteem as Rangers supporters.
  11. Dreadful game of football
  12. It vanishes the second you ignore it completely.
  13. Why? If you don't read them you won't have any reason to check. I could live very happily without having any idea what lies they're printing. All you do by scrutinising them is perpetuate the situation.
  14. Why is it we can refuse to buy the Record and the Sun, on the basis they're dishonest and disruptive, but can't help ourselves pouring over every word they print? Personally I'd never know what they were saying if it wasn't for reading it on here. It would suit me if there was a ban on linking or quoting these papers.
  15. Last time I was up in the Club Deck there were buckets collecting the water coming through the roof. It was depressing to say the least.
  16. Surely we've seen the last of Kenny Miller as a first team regular.
  17. I realise you were quoting someone else's words and this is a complete digression but does anyone know what IS being done to bring the stadium out of its years of disrepair?
  18. Exactly right. The great pretender is dead to me.
  19. Wouldn't be a surprise if the next announcement is Tav has signed a new three year deal.
  20. I think if you come from there, the central belt can become somewhat confused with Scotland as a whole. For me there's so much more to this country than that. That said, there seems to be a definite tendency towards over-emotionalism in Scotland and a quite nasty bigotry that reaches out well beyond the central belt. If it's not the Irish republican infestation driving it, it's the ScotNats spitting bile and grievance. We just seem to love to hate.
  21. The players we've signed recently may well bring an improvement in results. Some of them might even turn out to have a long term positive effect on the playing squad. However, in my opinion (which probably isn't worth much) these are nowhere near the calibre of player needed to be able to make the sort of optimistic claims doing the rounds. This is not like Dick Advocaat buying an entire squad in 1998, which everyone more or less knew would win the league title and which it did - but only by 6 points and with an inferior GD. The point is you seldom see what Advocaat was allowed to do with the club cheque book. We will have to build a squad over time with much less able players than Advocaat had and it's the quality of manager that will be pivotal to success or failure.
  22. What's the difference between this transfer window and the last few windows? Are we seeing the benefits of a DoF and being able to focus more time on identifying and working deals for better players ... or should we wait for results on the park before judging it a success?
  23. Decades of trailing our wake, of being second best, has left them beyond paranoid. They're damaged goods and we see it reflected in every obsessive utterance about Rangers. They'll never recover from NIAR, May 1999 and the various helicopter events. They thought we were dead and buried, now they're frantically looking over their shoulder, choking on their jelly and ice cream.
  24. What does heritage mean? I found this ... although there are any number of definition available, they all more or less say the same thing. "Cultural Heritage is an expression of the ways of living developed by a community and passed on from generation to generation, including customs, practices, places, objects, artistic expressions and values. It seems reasonable to include traditional songs in this, particularly ones that have been sung by Rangers fans over decades. Individual fans can decide for themselves whether they like various aspect of our heritage but denying TBB is part of our heritage is simply wrong.
