It's a tough call with absolutely no guarantees whichever way the board leans or whoever gets the job if it's not Murty. The bottom line is he has to get over the hurdle of beating Celtic. No Rangers manager can ever be successful if he lives in Parkhead's shadow.

i can see no honest way to support both Rangers and the SNP. I'd prefer that anyone who does so is honest with themselves and follows one road or the other.

Looks to me like Pogba is doing an Edin Hazard and has downed tools, only this time the manager will be the one staying.

Silly me, I thought Club1872 might have a role in representing supporter concerns to the club, perhaps even making health and safety a priority. I should have realised it's really a share trader.
-
I’m sure Club1872 will have discussed this with the club by now and we can expect their urgent statement imminently. That’s what they’re for, right?

The sight of so many wearing dark clothing and facemarks makes me feel very uncomfortable. However, I question whether the Antifa uniform would be seen at all if the authorities weren't obsessed with trivial "hate crimes" and didn't target Rangers fans quite so deliberately.

Carragher reminds us all that you can put a suit on a chimpanzee and teach it to smoke cigarettes and drink tea ... but it's still a chimpanzee and will still piss on the floor and break your arm. Sky, BBC, etc assume the quality of their sports programmes is dependent on big name players from the top clubs to "brand" their product. Some ex-players do have the insight and communication skills to inform the viewer, most do not and simply provide over-valued verbal tat. Sky didn't choose Carragher for his eloquence, knowledge of the game or his charm, they chose him for his demographic accent in their never-ending obsession with "inclusivity".

For a club that we’re continually reminded is dead or at least trailing in Celtic’s wake, we seem to have acquired considerably higher status after yesterday’s game. The Celtic manager, players and fans are celebrating a narrow win against Rangers like they’d beaten a combined Real Madrid/Barcelona select. Their media chums are only emphasising this on their back pages with tales of glory and mighty deeds. Surely all this triumphalism isn’t because they edged a narrow win over lowly Sevco? ? My how our stock has risen. They know.

Eduardo Herrera set for quick-fire Mexico return with Chivas
Bill replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Hopefull he can take Fabio Cardoso, Lee Hodson, Niko Kranjcar, Dalcio Gomez, Michael O'Halloran, Joe Dodoo and Jordan Rossiter with him. Makes you realise how much rebuilding is still to be done. -
It's more fundamental than just the form of protest, it's about being mature enough and sporting enough to accept defeat (relegation) when it happens. What would these West Ham fans care about any other club that is relegated? There seems to be more than a hint of entitlement about the attitude of these and some other fans. No one likes to see their club relegated, that's a given, but when it happens you get on with it and try to bounce back. If the West Ham fans have a problem with their board or manager then they need to find a way to influence them, otherwise stop trashing the sport.

Isn't this exactly the sort of thing you would expect Club1872 to be addressing - campaigning for a reduced allocation for Celtic fans? It would be a reasonable test of their effectiveness at representing the interests of supporters. Perhaps they could be asked for their views. Edit: Don't hold your breath.

On further reflection, I take a lot more positives than negatives from today, certainly a lot more than some on here. Perhaps expectations have a lot to do with that but for the first time in years I've no doubt we are capable of competing with Celtic. I also think everyone who saw the game, whatever their allegiance, realises that a shift has taken place in the balance of power. We're no longer lambs to the slaughter. Brenda certainly knows it, which is why he's become so openly mouthy in regard to Rangers. Perhaps our biggest remaining disadvantage is having so many players who have yet to taste success and believe they can repeat it. That will come.

I know what they’re protesting about, I just think they should do it off the pitch and show some respect for the game and their opponents.

There are 20 teams in the English Premier League. At the end of every season the three teams with the worst cumulative performance are relegated. It isn’t a complex arrangement and, since it’s the same each year, most people know how it works. Except, it seems, the fans of West Ham Utd, who apparently feel they are so entitled to Premier League status that pitch invasions are an acceptable defence against impending relegation. Thankfully fans of most other clubs have more respect for football.
-
I'd say there were definitely more positives than negatives and it wouldn't do some fans any harm to remember where we were just a few months ago, wallowing aimlessly in mid table after having been humbled by the mighty Progres Niederkorn. I'd say we've come a long way and if we keep progressing the corner will be turned sooner or later. Edit: The Scottish Cup game is clearly there to be won.

Headless chicken on the loose.

I'm disappointed to have lost, particularly after taking the lead twice, but there were definitely positives and we competed well for most of the game. It was a game we might well have won on another day. The biggest deficit is still in the quality of finishing and the delivery into the box. There's a bit to go yet but it would be wrong to deny the progress we're making.

Well, how did it go? Were the streets littered with bodies of innocent catholics?
