  1. Now THAT really would be something but I'd be amazed if it's him.
  2. If we insist on still going to away games and funding our enemies then this sort of thing will keep on happening. We have always had the means, just not the desire. Where is Club1872?
  3. Have you any idea how boring this is? You’ve said exactly the same thing a dozen times, do you want an award of some kind for repetition?
  4. OK, since you’re letting the cat out of the bag, I guess it’s OK if I tell you it’s ... Martin O’Neill. What?
  5. As I said, it's not the manager's job to sanction anything. That's the DoF's role. The manager's job is to say what he requires to deliver success on the park.
  6. You seem to be describing the Chief Scout. In the real world the manager recommends to the DoF what attributes he needs in a player to deliver the footballing plan the DoF has already approved.
  7. What do you think a DoF is for?
  8. In my opinion, Tommy McLean was by far the best Rangers winger since Willie Henderson and probably THE best crosser of a ball.
  9. I've had a few u-turns of opinion about Morelos, and there's something about him that's hard not to like, but nothing I've seen justifies the slack he's being cut atm for some of the worst goal scoring flops I've seen in a while. I can only assume the recent publicity about £11m valuations (real or not) has convinced everyone we have a great player on our hands but it seems at least as exaggerated as the ongoing criticism of Windass.
  10. There's no doubt in my mind Josh Windass is one of our better players. However, we do love our ritual sacrifices at Rangers and it happens to be the turn of Windass right now. Criticising Windass is how many fans show they're "on board" and "one of us". It's pathetic, it's bizarre and it's self-defeating. I wish they'd just grow up and develop an opinion of their own now and then.
  11. There's something in several of your points but for the most part you're way over the top. Sure there are some dinosaurs among us but the majority of supporters are much more discerning and open minded than you give them credit for. Where I will agree with you is in the management of the club and the management of the football operation, both of which seem to lack published clear overall aims and a measurable plan to implement them.
  12. Just what we don't need, to be a practice project for a wannabe manager
  13. Butt out with your logical nonsense. Can't a fellow have a wallow in misery and self-pity on a Monday morning? I find it sets up perfectly the week ahead
  14. I'll worry about new players when we see who will be coaching them next season. Knowing Rangers, the new manager will probably be the last to arrive.
  15. I don't know what we were actually offered for him in January but I think we'll regret not accepting it.
  16. I know it's not a mainstream Rangers song but this gave me such pleasure while it was in the charts
  17. As a committed contrarian I’m honour bound to take a different stance. I really like the song. The others are right about simple, catchy numbers but surely there’s room for something with more substance too. There’s a difference between songs and chants. There has been a dire lack of new club songs in recent years so well done for doing something about it.
  18. R5L now saying Rogers is 3/1 bookies fav for Arsenal job. No chance.
  19. Most clubs would wait to be asked before whoring their manager round the newsrooms ... but not Celtic.
  20. I see the campaign has started to install Rogers as a prime candidate to take over at Arsenal. He won’t get the job but Celtic is sending a clear signal that Rogers is available while basking in yet another shrewd PR exercise.
  21. I'd like to think so too but nothing I see or hear even hints at the sort of appointment most fans want to see. Football is a small world and Rangers is increasingly seen as a bit of a poisoned chalice. Without the money to overcome the reticence to join what is now a negative brand, I can see another complete bodge coming up.
  22. I'm desperate for a complete change to Murty's tactics. We might not have endless options in the squad but surely it's clear even to him that this isn't effective at home when teams come and shut up shop. Like Pete I think it's time to shake it up and try a 4-4-2 formation. I'd also like to see Murty start Halliday and let's see what Morelos can do as an impact sub. Foderingham Tavernier Martin McCrorie John Candeias Docherty Dorrans Halliday Cummings Windass Unlike Pete I think Maggie Thatcher must have been hugely popular with a lot of Scots if she managed to get more votes than Labour scraped up last time. It's hard not to get out of touch locked away in that Wassenaar mansion.
