I'd rather pay money to Rangers for RTV than watch any other channel. I don't care what the commentators are like, they're Rangers people who don't make snide comments about our club at every opportunity. It also means I'm guaranteed to be able to watch every Rangers game that I can't attend, regardless of venue or alternatives.

Wonder what's going up instead. Hopefully it's JD ads ?

Over the years I had many meetings about either buying or selling companies. Most of these were only exploratory and came to nothing - and none were even close to the scale of Ashley's business dealings. However, it never failed to amaze me how much these discussions are driven by personality and ego, rather than purely technical or financial matters.I think anyone involved in A&M will confirm this. If Ashley has decided to clear his feet of Rangers then it won't be driven only by financial need. Someone must have blinked.

I doubt it - that bastard relishes adversity

If it's true we are free of Ashley I think you can be sure a significant sum of money will have changed hands in the process. Personally, I'll be surprised if SD don't continue to take income from our merchandising sales.

The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

Or the ... "Bring Back Windass" thread? -
The only problem facing Rogers is being the Celtic manager who lost the title to a resurgent Rangers. Being the sort of vain weasel he is, he'd rather get his excuses lined up and make sure there's a door unlocked.

Like most supporters, I go to Ibrox to watch and hopefully enjoy football, not to attend a festival of music and performing arts. If the football is good, as it was last night, then the atmosphere takes care of itself. If not then the last thing I want is to have to listen to so many performing parrots trying to create an artificial “atmosphere” that the game doesn’t justify.

Frankly, I don't know how we coped back in the days before ultras. Y'know when the only label we needed was "Rangers". Personally, I wish they'd take their uniforms, drums and shit songs and have a think to themselves.

Thanks for the info. I remember seeing him score some amazing goals from free kicks but I’ll never forget him score a rocket headed goal from about 25 yards out... might have been Pittodrie.
-
After Tavernier scored I got involved in a conversation about other Rangers captains who had been regular penalty takers. The question was asked if Greig had taken penalties and for the life of me I couldn’t remember if he did or not. I have a vague notion that he did at one point but maybe there are better memories around than mine?????

It's so predictable. The BBC Scotland website features four sport articles. Two of them are about Celtic. One is reporting the Hibs game this evening and the other is about swimming. That's it. Do you think they're hurting? ?

BRITAIN will become 68% more pleasant as the Edinburgh Fringe draws in the country’s pathologically self-absorbed bastards for the next three weeks. As the rest of the country enjoys a well-earned break, the Scottish capital will once again be awash with sixth-form poetry, half-baked political idealism and post-modern reworkings of the A-Team as a feminist statement about pubes. Sociologist Charlie Reeves said: “The Edinburgh Fringe has become a sort of ‘gobshite kettling’, a way of temporarily containing viciously self-confident Oxbridge graduates who are nowhere near as talented as they think they are but will still end up getting 500 grand a year from the BBC.” He added: “If only the Metropolitan Police were there to batter them all with sticks.” Stephen Malley, an accountant from Finsbury Park, said: “It’s already a lot more pleasant around here. I’ve been to the park, done a bit of shopping, stopped for a pint and not once have I been forced to listen to a bunch of tits talking shit.” Meanwhile Bill McKay, a 55-year-old Edinburgh resident, said: “I’ve had 40 years of arrogant teenagers rewriting Shakespeare, ‘political jugglers’ and comedians calling their show ‘Cheese Badger’. “At my local we’ve cleared a space in the cellar so if one of them wanders in accidentally we open the hatch, chuck them down the steps and leave them to the pit bulls.” He added: “It’s called A Million Tears for Rosalita, venue 65, £7.50 at the door, £6 concessions.” https://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/arts-entertainment/edinburgh-fringe-kicks-off-annual-tosspot-migration-200908061961

Shit, is it merlot this month? What must they think of me? Tell Asquith I'm sorry but it's so hard to keep up, what with the salon being so busy and all.

The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

I'm glad Docherty has only gone on loan and not been sold. Hopefully he'll make the most of the opportunity and return as an asset ready for the first team squad or someone we can then sell on for considerably more money. Good luck to him. -
One thing is for sure, our players are going to have to look after themselves and each other this season.

Red card rescinded but the damage is done. Would there be so many "mistakes" if the wronged team were awarded a point and £20,000 every time a red card is rescinded?

Hubris is an excellent word. Not that I'm ever guilty of hubris you understand ? but I do use the word now and then to describe the riff raff on Gersnet.

The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals

Blame? No, just frustrated at the momentum these things seem to gather, usually quite irrational and well in excess of any criticism that's actually merited. Windass is no world beater but he definitely has talent. What I'd like to see is whether SG can better exploit that talent and have it benefit Rangers rather than his next club. -

Funny how Celtic and their media pals seem to be able to talk up valuations to a much higher level. I imagine the derisory Ipswich offer is at least partly driven by an awareness of the widespread debate among the Rangers support about his worth. It's the message we seem determined to send out about some of our players. -

If we're calling for a sell-on clause in any sale of Josh Windass, does that mean we accept he has more ability than we've been able to exploit and that Ipswich might make him a more valuable player when we can't?
