  1. Those who wanted Nacho to stay, would he have been in the first team every week for you? He said that was a big part in leaving.
  2. Aye, he seems to be saying that if people are saying Middlesborough aren't as big a club it'll motivate him to try and do extra well there. IE the criticism will spur him on. Seems fairly harmless.
  3. Saw it on QI that the England - Germany rivalry is essentially one way. The Germans are only really interested in beating the dutch, and vice versa. Is that right?
  4. I think he's just bigging up a potential colleague as you would expect anyone to do. If a reporter asks him "would you like to see stephen at wherever" he's not going to say "No, he's shit and i still consider him an enemy".
  5. I think it's a shocking move but I've no problem with him calling someone he knows by a less formal name than we'd use.
  6. Reminds me of the Eminem line "You find me offensive? I find you offensive, for finding me offensive"
  7. I think one of the things in the Lafferty Boyd debate is that when Lafferty plays poorly he is an utter shambles, and it really can take any momentum out the team, whereas Boyd is (was) just anonymous. Of course, the flip side of this is that where Lafferty was a nightmare it was through trying things that were unusual - like running at players - something Boyd wouldn't do. There were enough glimpses to say that Lafferty's got-something, but it would take a lot of revision to call last season anything but failure for him. He's still a young player, and so consistency will naturally come for him - if he can scale up to his potential he should have a good year.
  8. anyone who leaves rangers (or even celtic) for a championship side, of their own will, really hasn't thought things through.
  9. I think we can all agree that he looks exceptional for an 18 year old, that this doesn't mean he's top class yet, and could play week in week out against the best strikers in the world, but doesn't rule out the possibility that he may become top class and one day could. Sorted
  10. If they consider that to be where they'd most like to abide, you have to ask why don't they go home?
  11. The way you say it just sounds completely normal, like something no sane person would object to.
  12. How do you feel your little crusade's working out here captain?
  13. Sense clearly isn't a pal of yours. People can be both unionist and patriotic towards Scotland. What the tartan army detests is neither here nor there.
  14. The Boyd question is simple, but the answer's complicated and taste-ridden. Is there another striker out there who will cost less than Boyd in terms of signing on fee and wages who will do a better job, and have a greater sell-on value, than Boyd will cost in wages? This assumes, that we had the option of keeping him of course. If you think there is a better striker, who will cost less and give more, then you can fall into two categories a) yes, person X, or b) well there just must be. In reality, obviously, the only person who has the power to make that decision is WS, just as he's the only one with the accurate picture of who's available and for how much. Personally I can't think of a striker who'll do more and cost less, so I'd like Boyd to stay. I, however, trust WS, and my hopes of his staying have been somewhat tempered by his desire to leave. As far as I'm concerned, those who want to, should go, regardless of who they are.
  15. At least you've taken the time to draw up a big list of stereotyped cons to justify your race hate, most racists these days are just lazy. What do you think of the blacks? :fish: Seriously though, the media are insane. But I feel that exact same mad vanity when facing SPL clubs and teams I think we should be beating. The commentators are just exaggerations of this, and it's no reason to support anyone that's playing England unless it's Scotland.
  16. Calscot, looks like you've just selected the facts that let you justify your hatred, rather than the other way round. Racist.
  17. Sometimes within the course of a game. In the first game against the USA they directed all their praise after their scored towards Cappello like he was a god, analysing every one of his stares from the touchline with affection, and then once they lost the goals they started saying he'd been tampering with player's psychology by keeping from them if they would be playing. Then as soon as they would do something half decent they'd be on-the-verge of worldbeaters again. After the second game I thought they were going to have to send a wee dude with a mop in to clean up their exploded heads at the sheer injustice of them drawing a match.
  18. I'm exactly with you. I really like English people, culture, history, by and large. I want our neighbours to do well. I honestly don't think the average Englishman is like the commentators, and I'm not going to get aggrevated on behalf of the media. I'd stop short of wanting them to win the entire WC only because we have to share TV channels and the cringeworthiness and arrogance would be unbearable.
  19. Aye, we're going to literally have to raid ATMs.
  20. Now regretting voting for myself as most frustrating user.
  21. I won the second round! I'm just holding onto the triumph. You're not taking it away from me. :spl:
