  1. I thought Sterling was a right-back? I think we still need a CB, Souttar is not reliable and Davies isn’t particularly inspiring.
  2. That's a real shame, I thought he did a brilliant job with Scotland and was the nicest man in football.
  3. Not bad to get that money, probably more than we will get for Kamara!
  4. Of course you can do some basic analysis and come to some conclusion and discuss it, otherwise we'd be as well as closing the forum and just agreeing with everything Beale says and does. There are basic facts out there that the boy has had an extremely barren last three seasons by even the worst standards, I hope he can turn it around because if he doesn't do it rapidly here then he will be chewed up.
  5. Yep, but I understand he has had a bad knee injury since then (sound familiar?) and after his recovery his stats are woeful. I haven't seen him, I just hope Beale isn't wooed by the player he was rather than the player he is.
  6. Thing is he's been in Germany too and had scant return there either.
  7. Why only look at the last season though? It's been three years of no return, that's not a blip its consistently terrible. I hope Beale has been scouting him recently and isn't buying based on what he remembers from years past. I'm sure he's done his due diligence but it is a worry.
  8. Like I said previously though, it doesn’t mean he can’t be a success. He can’t come here and expect to be coming up with those numbers though, he’ll be taken apart by the crowd.
  9. I’m certainly struggling to understand it. A forward who has been unable to get himself into scoring positions doesn’t get a free pass just because he may be a ‘pressing forward’. The return is abysmal over the past three seasons, he will have to have a mighty turn around quickly because the crowd will gobble him up if he starts as slowly as he has done over the last 3 seasons.
  10. You’re being extremely generous if you’re saying he’s not at all responsible for being in a position to score.
  11. Rangers aren't playing a forward that can only manage 4 goals and 2 assists in 3 years mate.
  12. His stats are not just poor mate, they are utterly shit. Don't try and sugar coat it or anything. We must have scouted him very thoroughly if we believe he is worth the kind of money we are talking about, because on paper he is awful.
  13. Dude here going hard on the defence of a player no one knows. We are all going on stats, and the major ones for his role are not really just underwhelming, they are entirely at the wrong end of the scale. That doesn't mean he can't be a success, but of course I'm hardly excited to be signing a forward who hasn't been able to finish or assist for 3 years.
  14. 4 goals and 2 assists over 3 seasons is underwhelming for a forward, yes.
  15. Obviously I'd like Cantwell to stay. However, thinking about this practically we all know there is a substantial rebuild required. The rumour is we've signed Dowell who is a similar type of player. If Cantwell were to go now for a large sum then financially it would be an incredible deal. Football wise it may allow for us to do a complete rebuild of the squad, and we potentially have already signed his replacement. obviously I don't want good players to leave, but equally we need to take a good profit when we can, otherwise it really hurts us long term.
  16. It's nice to beat them in the moment but after that season I feel some anger inside to be honest. It's another example of what the squad can do when the pressure is off. Celtic probably learnt more from the match, their squad depth is not actually that strong. Will be glad to see the back of this season. Normally I'm massively hyped after winning an old firm match, but I just can't feel this one.
  17. I think it shows we've massively missed the boat and haven't managed to commit to our strategy. If you are offering players then you are looking at a cut price deal, which is a failure.
  18. It's a massive failure of Ross Wilson if we've progressed so far in Europe numerous times and yet we are resorting to offering players to clubs.
  19. I don't think there is anything wrong with liking a player that has had injury problems.
  20. I didn't take that, I read that he was at times crucial and their most important player that provides goals and assists, but he couldn't keep it up consistently due to injury.
  21. Not saying we were, but the model we are trying to use is buy low, get use out of the player, sell on. That is not happening, in fact we are releasing players on a free.
