Impressed with him last night, but he needs to bring that to every game. He looked like he'd never seen a football before at the start of the season.

To me Lammers looks like every time he hits the ball he already believes he won't score, I think 3 years of poor playing has wrecked his confidence and I'm not convinced it is coming back. Dessers is another I'm completely flummoxed by. Who buys a completely immobile striker in 2023? I hope these guys come good, but I think if Beale is guilty of anything, he is guilty of relying on his knowledge and scouting from years past - not enough due diligence was performed on these guys to understand the types of players they are today.

Off season signings were exciting because it looked like we really were, at last, going to refresh the team fully. However, there were certainly grumbles regarding the quality of the signings during that period too. The problem has been magnified because the signings aren't getting a game ahead of the players we already have (and who have shown over multiple years that they can't mount a battle for the championship over the course of a full season).

Yes, but keeping the club solvent and making the correct decisions for football on the pitch are two different things. For instance you can bring money into the club by arranging friendlies with Celtic in their managers country, great economic decision and a pretty poor football one. In my opinion nearly every manager since McCoist has been a knee jerk risk, even Gerrard was honestly. I'm glad it worked out for us, but Gerrard was a completely unknown quantity when it came to management. There is a history of the board making risky appointments with little interrogation of the options so it seems fine to me to point the finger at the board and ask why they keep making the same mistake? It's lead us to a situation where we are potentially becoming a poisoned chalice. We won't be touched by any reasonable manager as we keep having ti sack them and the support is turning on them in an instant.

Dunno what's wrong with saying the board have made poor decisions? The manager is responsible for the players performance and the board is responsible for the managers. It's pretty logical.

I feel at the moment that any manager that comes in isn't going to get time. There is too much angst in the crowd, ready to turn on anyone in an instant. So I'm not sure if what you are hinting at is actually a way out.

I think it's kind of crazy that the team were booed after winning the game. I get it, we didn't play well but we just came off the back of a win against Real Betis. I kind of feel like if another manager came in and lost a game then they'd get booed too. We are a bit of a shitshow of a job to take on in all honesty.
