At home we should definitely be changing it up, we don't need the three in midfield, one of them could be sacrificed for another striker or a 10, hopefully now Hagi is here that will be the case. I think Kent plays better hugging the touchline as well instead of starting centrally as a 10, although he can be effective coming inside as well, I think we need to make 3 or 4 signings of significant quality, 2 midfielders, one winger and one striker. As blue Dan has already said, we need players that can influence the game when the chips are down and we don't have that just now, we are ok when we are cruising or confidence is high, but when its not the ball is like a hot potato, none of the midfield want it and it inevitably goes long, and unless you have a target man to hold up the ball we lose it and it comes back, so we are always chasing the game. We can't rely solely on Morelos for goals either, other folk need to chip in, its no coincidence that our form fell off a cliff when Morelos was suspended, even though it is amazing that we have Defoe here, he is not suited to that type of game either, if we are going long he needs someone beside him and he isn't getting any younger. I honestly believe it would be a different storey if we had won the league cup in December, just winning a cup would have set us up for the rest of the season. But at home 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 and away 4-3-3 (maybe not as narrow though, teams sit in against us and the middle is usually crowded so I'm surprised we play with two 10's) or 4-4-2 Midfielder 1 (Anchorman / Ball winning midfielder) As much as I hate to say it, an equivalent to Scott Brown, someone that breaks up the play, has a calming influence and can dictate the play, doesn't have to be the best footballer, just someone who can do that job effectively, shinnie done a similar job for Aberdeen but I don't think he is good enough for us Midfielder 2 (Box to Box) - someone that will break the lines and support the strikers if need be, a midfield of Kamara, Jack and Davis are to lightweight and won't do that. Closest I can think to that would be someone like Stuart Armstrong, again tall, strong, loads of energy willing to get back and forward and chip in with a goal, I have no idea where we would find someone like that though who isn't really expensive Winger - A traditional winger that can get down the line and get a cross in, although I wouldn't be opposed to a Raumdeuter type player (like Thomas Muller at Munich). Striker (Target Man) - Someone that can hold up the play if we need to go long and bring players like Defoe and Hagi in to the game. Ideal would be Artem Dzyuba, free, probably a lot in wages however, absolute beast though, strong as an Ox and a leader (Russian Captain). Others, I have seen a striker from Belgium called Roman Yaremchuk, again tall, strong and fast (from YouTube), reminds me of Cousin a wee bit and can play the Raumdeuter role as well, might be a bit expensive though. Dykes would be a good option as well but he isn't a starter for me, would be more of a squad filler. We do need different options to mix it up a bit

Think it makes sense to sign Hagi up, he clearly enjoys it here and he is a good footballer, has potential to get better and will have good sell on value. I think we were in for Deli last year, not sure how he got on at Brugge I have seen a rumour about Charlie Austin floating about, if he could stay fit he would be a great option -
John I understand your concerns about it but I don't think rangers need to be building any bridges, we have seen over the last 8 years how many clubs aren't willing to build bridges and kick us when we are down, actually in the current climate I hope a few of them go to the wall. The appointment does fee like we are going on the offensive a bit, which is good because I feel we have been passive for to long. Not knowing much about him other than what I have read and hear on HH podcasts we will see how he goes.

Yeah I would be open to selling most of our higher priced assets if it meant we could fund a fair few good players, suppose it's about getting a balance, i'm guessing we will be looking at a few free's as well, I see Kovalenko (Shaktar) and Dzubya (Zenit) are out of contract in the summer, that's the type of player I would be looking at, spend a wee bit more on wages -

Don't know much about him. it's difficult because im not really sure what market we will be shopping in. do we think we are going to have enough money to spend big, will we have enough to bring in sufficient quality. -

The melt down would be a joy to behold if this happened. I seen a suggestion on Twitter though, why not just cancel the league this season, use the remaining time to reform the league to 14 or 16 teams, would that not make sense. -

How long is Barasic out for does anyone know. The thing that surprises me is we never really upgraded our options at full back, particularly when they are integral to the way we play -

I do like Kamberi he has looked hungry when he has came on, I still would have liked Vydra though, something a wee bit different, his goal for Burnley the other week was a cracker -
Provided everyone is fit, the team should be McGregor Tavernier Goldson Helander Barasic Davis Jack Kamara Hagi Kent Morelos

It is understandable the reaction considering how close we were before Christmas (two points behind, level on GD with a game in hand) to where we are now after 4 weeks (10 points behind, game in hand and 18 goals behind). But this is not the time to be ripping it up and starting again, the board and the fans have invested a lot in Gerrard and this team. He has without doubt made our players better, he has us playing an attractive brand of pressing football (except for the last 4 weeks). If the warm weather training camp has a part to play in this it needs to be reviewed, I think the problem lies out with the first 11, we really lack quality outside our first 11 and even if everyone stays in the summer I think we need to invest heavily in 4 or 5 positions, particularly midfield and the striker position. I’m sure Ross Wilson is on it already Michael Beale was on twitter the other week about the way we play, we play the Christmas Tree formation of 4-3-2-1, with the 2 behind the striker playing as number 10’s in free roles, I have no issue with this system, more the personnel in it. Kent and Hagi I would consider suitable for this system, both are two footed, both can go outside or inside comfortably, and both can pick a pass, on Kent, his form is terrible just now and his head is down, but they need to start contributing goals as well as assists. I have no idea if they are to wide and need to be closer to Morelos or if they are making the wrong decisions. As I said I think the problem lies behind that, Jones, Barker, Hastie, Ojo, all look like traditional wingers and im not sure if any of them are good enough, Stewart is more of a striker and Aribo is a CM or an AM, I like Aribo but I think it would suit him more if he was central behind a striker in a 4-2-3-1. Where we go from here is anyone’s guess though it’s difficult to pinpoint where things are going wrong, is it bottle, mentality are we burned out, is it quality. How we can go from absolutely destroying them on the 29th to where we are now is unbelievable. They need to sort it out quick otherwise this could get embarrassing, we really need to skud someone 5 or 6 nil
-
It is worrying and annoying, the goal difference was pretty close before the break but they have pulled away now and show no sign of slowing down, we really need to pick up and hope that they have a disaster. The only way I can really see that is if eduard is injured for an extended period of time

Probably worked out ok for us, the board sanctioned the purchase of Kent and Celtic bought another 3 fullbacks

Don't know if this has been answered already, but was there any truth in the Konate rumours in the final hours of the window. Seen a lot of people mention his name, but nothing more than that, don't imagine we could have parted with another 10 million for a player but I never expected to sign Kent for 7.5 million either -
Lennon got them up for the game yesterday, they were chasing everything down and managed to break up the play, it was a horrible watch and a shite game. He had obviously used all the news reports to fire them up, but they didn't play well, they were efficient and industrious. There is no way they will settle for that when we visit the giro dome, they set up like a St Mirren or Livi would. On top of that we looked rotten yesterday, I think we overthought the game and as such Gerrard picked the wrong team, he will learn from his mistakes and a lot of players never turned up. Where Lennon will lose it is games away to Aberdeen and Kilmarnock, as stated he can't keep harmony within a dressing room. It was a tough one to take, particularly the manner of the defeat, however we will get the chance to put it right, i'm still confident about this year

Think he will db, he has all the attributes to be a good striker, just not what we need the now, he needs to be getting regular games, hopefully he stays fit, I didn't realise he had been injured so much. Any more on our incomings I seen Stevie tweet on the Helander thread the other day that people are going to get a shock with who we bring in, or words to that effect and I'm refreshing twitter on an hourly basis to see if anything has came out, I canny wait till the window is closed and we can concentrate on footy. -

He is maybe thinking about Europe as well, I think we did need a center half that was a step above Goldson, Katic. we were the top scorers in the league last year, so the forward positions should technically be ok if we continue like we did last year, biggest problem was losing daft games here and there, and we did take a slump in January, Goldson, Katic and Worral all took a dip. Its good news, and with mcpake signing and now Liverpool saying we have first refusal on kent if he goes out on loan I think it's really positive. -

Stevie I like the look of the two of them, always liked Roofe, don't know much about Deli, looks a good from youtube (I know) Are the 2-3 that are coming in dependant on people leaving or European football, are they loans or permanent transfers. I am surprised I thought we would have a few million to spend, but the only outlay is the development fee for Aribo. Are we just biding our time -

I would be amazed if Jones, Hastie, Davis, Stewart, Edmundson and Aribo are on the same as them. Kent is away back to Liverpool and Worrall to Forrest and we have brought Ojo in. I thought Wallace, Herrera, Rossiter and Dorrans were on a hefty wedge. Are we still thinking we are going to be spending a decent amount of money on transfers. -

If we are trying to / have got guys like Dorrans, Lafferty, Rossiter, Grezda, Hardie, Holt, Herrera, Dodoo and Wallace off the wage bill that must free up a few quid in wages, if you are talking about brining guys in on a free, you could use the wages from that lot and bring in 2 or 3 players of a level above, like sturridge -
I think Halliday and Polster have there own place in the team but no designated position, don't see either as full backs, they can play there CM, DMC FB and as wide midfielders, more like utility men on their respective sides of the park, that's why I think we will go for another LB. Although I think Barasic will be given another chance, I don't think Gerrard will take a chance on him turning out to be a shitebag again. Mind you maybe Grezda was a bad influence and if he goes it might get Barasic focused again
