In saying that, I was standing for 90 minutes in my usual seat in the Broomloan rear for the game on 29th December. So was everybody else. That must have been un-safe standing lol

Every club in the country seems to have these young teams now. These sort of groups do seem to be popular & encourage youngsters to go to the football, so I suppose the club should accommodate them. But as they no longer get kicked out for Celtic games, I genuinely don’t know what they are whinging about. BF3 isn’t any better a view than BF5. As for wanting to stand for 90 minutes, you can do that at any junior ground, if you want the whole 19th century football fan experience..

Petition To Get James Dornan Removed From Anti Sectarian Group
917 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I signed this petition, probably should have checked it out first. However, modern politicians often like to be seen getting things banned before they even exist. So it’s probably not as pointless an exercise as it seems. -
Nothing wrong with having an overdraft. The worry would be if we don’t pay it back this year. Close brothers seem to be raising their profile, I seem to remember seeing them sponsoring a team in England..

I thought that wee guy had maybe had his megaphone ? taken off him last night because of the Steve Clarke stuff last week. These boys are our version of the green brigade, and now they’re taking the huff because the club won’t kick other season ticket holders out of their seats so they can take over an entire stand for their particular brand of chaos! Not my cup of tea personally, though I’m sure plenty would disagree with me..

Lennon’s “second coming” certainly couldn’t be more different than his first. Back in 2010 he was taking over from Tony Mowbray who had just lost 4-0 to St Mirren & were 10 points behind Sir Walter’s 3-in-a-row team. He then lost the Scottish Cup against Ross County, but somehow still got the job permanently as he got 2nd in the League, which wasn’t certain under Mowbray. The only way was up back then, the same level of success now would be seen as a massive failure! And I don’t think he has better players now either, although we probably don’t either. Sadly I expect the tims will hammer Hearts tonight, as they will be well up for it and Hearts are crap. But the weekend when they play Hibs under pressure in the Cup, that is when Rodgers departure will start to kick in..

Quite astonishing! I thought he would have been there another couple of years. The fact is he is a top manager, and his leaving is a huge blow for them. I never thought we would win the league till he left, now that could be this season! Replacing him will be like replacing Sir Alex Ferguson - the next guy can only fail by comparison. And if they bring in the guy who failed at Hibs, then all the better! Of course it will be him though, as he could chuck away the league & that mob would still love him..

A call for Rangers supporters to unite against BBC Scotland bias

This is a better tactic, as a few thousand signatures will generate wider media coverage & leave Dornan’s position on this committee untenable. -
A call for Rangers supporters to unite against BBC Scotland bias
917 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
There have been protests like this before, by Rangers fans and other groups (the SNP, pro-Brexit supporters, anti-Brexit..) in even greater numbers. They get very little publicity, and possibly even harm their own cause as it makes them look like nutcases. A few years ago I’d have went on this, but now I feel it would be pointless at best, and possibly even counter productive. Good luck to those who do go though. -
I’m I the only one who thinks this would benefit us? As long as they are full-time professionals, they might actually know the rules & foreign based refs are less likely to be influenced by Scottish media (ie to book or send off Morelos in every game). Considering St Pats have the best disciplinary record & we are cited the most, Rangers have nothing to lose here.
-
A bit disappointing considering it’s arguably our biggest game of the season to date, however not surprising. For midweek league games there are usually about 15,000 empty seats, and that’s folk who have already paid for their tickets, so no surprise that even more don’t turn up when it costs an extra £27. Midweek games don’t seem to hold the attraction they once did, and the short notice as well as the Champions League on the TV all contribute to this. Should still be a good atmosphere though, remember the replay when Nicky Clark scored the winner at Rugby Park a few years ago..?

Stewart Robertson calls for clarity on the disciplinary process in Scotland
917 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
An excellent interview with Stewart Robertson there. Trying to get other clubs on side by calling for a review, then spelling out exactly how the BBC are treating us differently. No point in ranting on about that table showing us with 9 citations and another club with none, or mentioning Harper Macleod, as that would appear like paranoia & lose us support which we need from other clubs. But the point has been made nonetheless. Amazing though, that even the MD of a Premiership club can only say how “It appears” the citation process works, basically the SFA make it up as they go along!! -

I honestly haven’t noticed any difference tbh. What games would the BBC be covering exactly anyway?? They still show our games on the website and sortscene, & I wish they wouldn’t bother on the latter as they just highlight any incident where the ref has been lenient with a Rangers player! -
Not champions league, but I can’t believe the deluded tims I have been hearing from today. They actually expected to beat Valencia last night!! Apparently it’s all still to play for in the 2nd leg as well ?
-
Dorrans?? If he plays 1 game a season he’d be an improvement on him!! Is he any less a player than Greg Docherty? One for the future maybe, but as for dressing room leaks, think I’d have a player like his uncle, or even his dad every day of the week in my dressing room, gossip or not! Of course, surely we can still sign Aberdeens top players & leave them on the bench anyway, like we used to do with Stephen Wright, Theo Snelders, Ricky Foster..

Just when you think Scottish football can't sink any lower
917 replied to JFK-1's topic in General Football Chat
Yes, this sort of thing is mind boggling. However it is also possible to jump to conclusions. Did Dundee Utd complain about this incident? How many witnesses were there?? However, you certainly do see & hear behaviour at the football which is worse than sectarianism/racism, in my opinion. -
Seems to me a clear conflict of interest though, and one the wider non-Rangers supporting public won’t be aware of. People in positions of authority have to not just be clean, but be seen to be clean, ie. there should be no question of any conflict of interest. Now if I was in that position, I would be wary of penalising Celtic because if Lawwell pulled the plug on their contract, well I wouldn’t be too popular with my bosses..
-
I don’t understand why Club 1872, and indeed RFC, aren’t highlighting that the CO works for Harper Macleod, who are celtics solicitors. It seems to me the CO is the problem here, not who is on the review panel. Do Harper Macleod do some work for us as well??

Must be the first time Shagger has ever plead his case in front of a burd & got knocked back, right enough..
-
This is 100% down to media pressure, after Morelos was seen to have ‘got off’ with a few challenges against Celtic & we successfully appealed a few bans before. Every keeper in the land has came out for a ball on the edge of the box like that, as much to stop them sliding out & giving away a free kick. Lewis Ferguson should have got a red for retaliation, so the debt was paid on the pitch. Authorities should not be getting involved in incidents like this!

match thread (image) [FT] Kilmarnock 0 - 0 Rangers

That sort of thing is systematic in the English Premier league, where Defoe has been playing for 15 years. Sky pundits like Thierry Henry would say it was a penalty cos the defender lunged in, whether there was contact or not. I don’t like to see it either though. On another moan, £27 seems a bit steep for the replay.. -
I wonder what the grounds were for this ‘dismissal’?? Cos if it was ‘because he’s an alky’ then we are going to get hammered at the tribunal..
-
15,000 folk paying for their ticket but not bothering to turn up just sums up modern football!

Apologies for the DR link, but I can’t find it anywhere else yet.. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/transfer-deadline-live-celtic-rangers-13928601.amp?__twitter_impression=true Is it just me, or was he a good player? Can see him being a big hit there, left foot like a wand. Hopefully net a couple against Celtic. Mind you I thought Emerson Hyndman and Dominic Ball were good players, but they’re now warming the bench at Easter Road & Pittodrie..
