The January Transfer Window Rumours and Deals Thread
lenny3k replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Personally, I think Alves will be off in January, so this is potentially his replacement I think..... -
Rangers want Michael O'Halloran to return to Ibrox in January

Could be bringing him back to sell him on and make some money for a potential new managers signings... -
Aberdeen Statement - McInnes to stay at Aberdeen
lenny3k replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
Anybody else think its very coincidental that Caixinha accepts a new role and we approach McInnes barely days apart..... -

Maybe its why its taking so long to appoint a manager, Miller hasn't interviewed anybody he deems suitable yet.....

What i don't understand is in Murty's pre-game interview for Dundee, he was questioned as to why Pena returned to the squad and Murty's reasoning was basically that he somehow, no matter what, always seems to get a goal in training. Doesn't matter whats happening Pena always seems to pop-up with a goal...... So how, when we are desperate for a goal, does he not come on??

so sad that it was around Thanksgiving, a holiday spent with close family...

Also like to add that I think Windass and Morelos seem to have a good understanding of how each other play...

As much as I like the idea of Potter, I think the board would see it as too much of a risk.... Personally, I think he should at least be a contender, but, looking at some of the names mentioned (all rumours I know), I don't think a risky hire is what the board/DoF is looking for.....

Rangers star Bruno Alves REFUSED to be a substitute against Hamilton...
lenny3k replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I would be surprised if Alves doesn't return to the starting line up on Friday night -
If i'm honest, I wouldn't want to see Walter back in that kind of role, not because I don't think he could do it successfully as, I have no doubt he would steady the ship and transform the team, but, if anybody has earned a relaxing retirement, its him. He also went out at the top and I'd prefer it stayed that way

Just realised how that was written, sounds impossible I play every Saturday but then the team also sometimes has matches on Wednesday evenings to make up for postponed matches from earlier in the season or cup matches....
-
Am I missing something? Most teams play 8 games in 8 weeks don't they?! Even I play 9 or 10 Saturday 11-a-side games every 8 weeks.....

Club perhaps think if they can poach McInnes just before the Aberdeen matches, it may throw Aberdeen into a bit of disarray before the double header with the hunt for a replacement / changes etc
-
Doesn't say much when he's completely incapable of sending his own CV in.... Next time I apply for job i'll get my little girl to send my CV with a covering letter of 'Why you should hire my daddy'

Q&A with Kevin Thomson - Rangers, Walter, the Old Firm and Youth Players
lenny3k replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Always enjoy interviews with KT, will definitely have a look at it -
Phillips had a poor game, but at the same time, he is more a winger than a centre forward.. He has played as a striker a few times at club level but he is primarily a winger and a solid one at that(usually ).. I agree though, Cummings should have been on much earlier and Phillips moved to his more natural wing position

One of the things that I think would go in DfB favour is that, at Ajax he was in charge of a team that was expected to control the games with the lion share of possession and basically win most games.... With Palace and the Inter Milan of recent years that was never going to be the way the games went. With Rangers, it would be similar to Ajax and could potentially suit his system / tactics etc. Thats another reason I don't see the point in looking at managers like Pardew and McLaren (if we ever were)..... They've never really been managers of clubs that are expected to control the match for 90 minutes every game.

^This^ I think we can see the difference having good man management skills and the respect of the squad can make just from the last 2 games... Add to that the experience that Murty perhaps doesn't have and we could still see this season being a big step back to the top.

This is the sort of guy who would have been perfect when we started in League 2...
