  1. Cheers chaps, kinda sounds like the norm at Ibrox these days. It's a real shame that the Blue order's efforts aren't rubbing off on the majority. The display was 1st class though.
  2. How was it? I was watching it on Setanta at my mates house in Melbourne and it sounded dire. Although it clearly sounded as though the commentator wasn't in the stand and the crowd was muted. It actually put my mates off watching the game. They were saying that there was no atmosphere and i was left trying to defend the crowd. We'd then flick over the channel to an EPL game and the crowd reaction was more clearer... What was it like guys?
  3. At the Gers v Blackburn gamebehind one of the goals where i was, we were next to the Sydney fans. One of them had a Sellik top underneth his Sydney top. Didn't go down well and he was quickly ejected as it rilled a few folk up and this guy was giving it the 'come on then's to some Rangers fans. I think this is whats the post is about.
  4. Next game is Wednesday night so Wed morning in the UK against Sydney and then next Saturday against AEK. Wish i was going mate but back in Melbourne, cant get anytime and saturday's i play football so cant do the AEK game.
  5. Decent game for a friendly. Was a great day and the bears were out in force. The atmosphere was terrific and i've lost my voice. Not done that for a while. I took 3 mates up there with me, one from Whales, one from Uruguay and the other an Aussy. We also kidnapped a german chick from my hostel room and she came along and loved it:giruy: We played well, went for it from the start and first half we killed them. If we'd scored the Pen then that was it game over but they got back into it and was a tense finish. Thought Fleck looked good when he came on and i like the idea of trying bougie as a full back. Lafferty had a decent game but was out left again, i thought he was going to be given a run through the middle?? Naysmith did well also and hopfully he can shine this season. As i said, atmosphere was great, we stayed and sang for about 20mins after the game, the stewards had to plead with us to go and then like an army, we all walked outside the stadium singing. What a weekend. WATP:robbo:
  6. Easy to say with hindsite but being here 2 years now i know the mentality of the Aussy's when it comes to football. 'Real Aussy's' think football or 'Wog ball' as they call it,is for 'poofs'. You then have the 3rd and 2nd generation Aussy's who may be from any back ground ranging from Serbs,Greeks,Italians,Bosnians,Turks. These are the guys that football in australia has the following from. 'RealAussy's' follow AFL if they're from Victoria and Rugby league if they're from NSW and QL. The reason the National Soccer (hate that word) league folded was because of the 'Wog' teams. Melbourne knights who Viduka was a hero as are croation and used to pull crowds of 15,000 to games. These days playing in the victorian premier league they pull 1,000. They aren't allowed into the A-league because the league bosses want to banish all ethnic clubs and i think it's kind of damaged the game here before it was even on its feet. Anyway, i've gone off my point, my point is that Rangers clearly didnt do enough research into this before buying the club. Certainly with regards to location, Timing and with having a real good hard look at the way australians actually view football. Things are slowly starting to change, i heard a stat that more kids play football here than AFL which is great but the AFL are pumping more and more $$$ into the sport to try and 'hold back' the progression of football in australia. Lets hope the world game finally wins over the whiole of Australia.
  7. Hey guys, will be taking a load of pictures when im in Sydney for the game v Blackburn this weekend. How do i upload pics on to the forum from my pc? Cheers.
  8. Lets face it, i think we're fcuked. Thompson leaving (if you believe reports) is the final straw for me. We NEED to keep on to our best players and no doubt Thommo is one of them. We've already lost Boyd, Snatcho, Beasley but where's these replacements? We don't look like signing anyone. It doesn't make sense to sell our best players and be linked with players that probebly wouldn't touch us with a barge pole in our current situation. Who's next? Davis? Bougy? Shagger? I feel sick...
  9. Middlesbrough are one of the most boring, unfashionable clubs in the UK. Boyd will be kicking himself sooner rather than later.
  10. Why's that mate? He's been our top scorer every season since he's been here. Goals pay the rent and when i last looked we've yet to sign anyone to replace him. So i'd rather put Boydy in the high earners rather than take a punt on someone who A: Most certainly won't score as many as him. And B: Take time to/may not settle at Rangers.
  11. Agreed mate, second games in theory should be much better. So far i'm super let down by the tournament. Poor quality, no real flashes of skill, except Messi. Some of the games have been down right horrible to watch Holland/Den i turned off after 30mins. An then them fU***** horn things, they do my nut in. You can't hear the different songs or atmospheres each individual nation brings. All i can hear is one big fucking beehive. Please please get better WC.
  12. Nice work on the vid. Thing that makes me feel better about this is that looking at that, most of his goals are in the 18 yard box and a lot are tap in's. Seems like he knows where to be. Could be a good signing.
  13. When i read this i thought well done the Saints. Nice change to see an SPL club reward a young manager for good work done in the lower divisions. Wish him well, just not against us.
  14. Wee trip to Sydney it seems:-) Well chuffed about that.
  15. I agree, it wasn't so long ago the Shagger was making a few errors and some of us were shouting for Alexander to be given his shot. He fecked up against Sellik but otherwise has been solid for us and hasnt really made a fuss despite having been on the end of a tough decision that Sir Walter had to make. Shagger IS a better keeper than Alexander, although he can learn a lot from alexander's attitude.
  16. Yep, give or take, same outcome. We'll both be right :spl:
  17. In 15 years time one of us will be posting a link to an article reading ' BOYD: I Wish I'd NEVER Left The Rangers. I'm gutted he's leaving but at the same time thank him for all his contributions. Best of luck Boydy, i hope you don't regret it.
  18. If that 7 million figure is true then good, i really think we could get that for him. I don't want to see him go but if we can get a good sum for him and he wants to move on then all parties would be happy.
  19. Good to see the big man still has his accent and still sticking it into them. Albertz = Legend.
  20. Estudientes la plata went out on away goals in the Copa libertadores to internatcional of Brasil. An 88min goal for the Brasilians sent them through but there was some nasty scenes after the game. Not sure exactly how it came about but i think the Inter keeper was getting stick all game, (he's Argentine) and after the final whistle over celebrated and that kicked off a brawl. 21. http://www.rangers.co.uk/articles/20100509/wizards-of-oz_2254024_2047297 Possibly see my 2 teams. Hope Rangers do come out here, there's a market to tap into for sure.
  22. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/scottishpremier/celtic/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/10/04/28/SOCCER_Celtic_Nightlead.html&TEAMHD=celtic&DIV=scotsprem&TEAM=CELTIC&RH=Celtic&PREV_SEASON= Say's 3,000 on here. Apparently Dick was hanging with the Tims
  23. About the strips,it's so stupid about them not being availiable abroad. Walk down past shops in Buenos Aires,if you check out football strips you'll find Timmy. Same here in Melbourne. And you know what? People buy them because they don't have the choice to buy a Rangers one. I understand the concept of majority of the takings going to Rangers but you'd think that Rangers would take into consideration that ourselves and JJB would have a relationship with a sports chain in countries such as Australia and Canada where supporters can simply walk into a shop and buy what they want. Not having to buy online then paying out the arse for postage.
  24. End of the day, we'd be much further up shit creek if it wasn't for Walter coming back. Of course if we could have a Jose then awesome. For now we have the best guy we could possibly have, the Godfather, Sir Walter:-)
