Pretty sure i played against him about 9 years ago. He was playing for hearts youth team and was playing upfront then. was a good player, cocky wee shite though.
-
Sorry, i think i need to lay off the wacky baccy
-
It's all in his head, im not saying he's not injured but if he's got it in his head that he's going to get injured or a bit of contact will cause an injury then suprise suprise, Andy Webster injured again.
-
No offense mate but i think your tripping. Disgusting attempt at a tackle.
-
Hard to say when we'll lose but i think it'll be down to circumstance more than anything else, i.e injuries and suspensions. On that,we still have Fleck and Jelavic to come back and i still think Beattie will have a role to play for us. As someone said, these runs usually come to an end when u least expect it.

Once again the rules are not clear enough. Shagger made no contact but there was 'intent'. Samaras makes contact (albeit minimal) but its deemed there was no intent? FFS, look at the incident, he's caught the ball and at least a full 2 seconds after he has caught it he gets the knee tap. If thats not intent to harm then i don't know what is.

And may i also just add, Larsson,Sutton,Nakamura all diving little basas and got away with conning SPL refs for years. What goes around comes around but if Broadfoot is going to add the theatrics again, they've got to be better:whistle:

Ok job for me. It's that old thing of 'consistancy' again. I have to say, the players,or more the Sellik players didint make life easy for him. The Stokes tackle was a shocker and if that was the 80th min, a defo sending off. But he got Jig's booking wrong, he got the ball and his studs wern't high at all. He then didn't book Samaras for exactly the same type of tackle except the Slimmy greek was no where near the ball. Ki cfould also have been sent off. Again, consistancy. He got booked after he hacked Naisy and then pushed him, he then did the same to Miller later in the game (push to the face i think). I thought the penalty was soft but i'll take it of course. I'd be pissed if that was given against us. There was contact but not really enough, broadfoot was on the way down anyway and the ref kinda was facing side on to the incident. Tough tough job, for his first OF game, i think he did OK.

As soon as Platini was shown on camera you could prdict this was going to be a story by one of the papers. I'd say it was bull. Wouldn't suprise me though if that when Billy boys was sung, that wanker Desmond was probebly having a word in platini's ear saying what a horrible kind we are.

Very good point.

Just had another look at the Stokes challenge on Papac. That was F****** disgusting. At first i thought it was a slide with the foot raised but its a full on lunge. That could have snapped his ankle.
-
You forgot to mention Samaras giving Shagger a wee dig wi his knee in the 2nd half. minimal contact but it was naughty. I'll let you off though, good points.

'I may be wrong,it might be a penalty,it might. I very much doubt it though'.

Scottish Premier League meets to discuss reconstruction
bluedan replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
I think a 14 team league is more realistic purely because the SPL clubs probebly wont vote for 16 due to the little tv money there is being cut even more. In an ideal world if money wasn't an issue then i think a 16 team league with a winter break would fair better. But lets hope they come to a solution and don't just sit around the table mulling over the idea. We need something to freashen up the game in Scotland ASAP. My mate says he wouldn't waste his time watching SPL football and he's WELSH. That says it all really :-) -
I actually think this guy will make a pretty good gaffer. Wise move by Hibs.

Lets face it, our record against Spanish oppo is pish. Valencia are a side to watch for but we can't afford to give them too much respect or time because they will kill us. I think we can hurt them in wide areas, through the middle they are strong and have players that can shoot from distance so our tactics will have to be spot on. At Ibrox though, i'm sure we can sneak it. P.s, i remember that Valencia team and they were exceptional. That club somehow always manages to put a good side together despite they're simliar cash restrictions.

Bring it on Hooper ya lil scum bag. I canae wait to see his face when he canae get out of a 40 year old's back pocket. Another player who comes to Scotland and is poorly educated on the pressures of the game here. He'll soon learn how good TGFITW are when we win. Comon the Gers.

Very sad, don't know why but i've always had a soft spot for Dundee. Good family club, really hope they survive as it would be a real shame for Scottish football to see them go under.
-
Thats a great goal. First touch was world class,to do kill that ball on the run and then get in between 2 defenders and finish. Sure we'll be seeing that.

I got heaps of these old programs. They we're my grandads, got one from the Euro cup final from Hampden between R madrid and Frankfurt. I took them to a dealer and he didn't value them as being rare despite the near mint condition. I'll be passing them onto my kids....

No harm in trying the boy but finding a gem in a country like NZ is near on impossible. I lived there for 11 months and ALL it is is Rugby. That's it. I think the country got captivated by the All whites gusty show in the WC and from what i hear it's catching on a little bit. Also the Wellington team is one of the best in the A league. But this is a country of 5 million people and football is no where near being the number one sport. So there's better chance of finding this talent in Scotland. I don't understand why we don't do these sorts of schools in South America. The talent there is never ending and the kids in them communitys need the help/fun heaps more than NZ kids. At the end of the day, Rangers are out there trying to promote our name and hopfully strike it lucky with some talent. Time to rethiink our ways...get to the places where there's better chance of un earthing that diamond cause it aint going to happen in NZ.

Now Jelavic is targeted by the Rangers-hating NOTW

Let me say, regardless of this article, Croats are fcuking head cases. There's a team over here in melbourne called St albans saints, they're croation and they're fans are well known for being nutters. I went to watch them as they play in the league above me and they were playing a Serbian mob. Big rivals of course. There was about 700 people at the game and where the hardcore stand is called 'The Hill'. They were threatening to knife the goalkeeper and all sorts. I'm a goalkeeper so i really felt for that lad. They love football but nut jobs. Glad i don't have to play against them next season ;-) -
Big fan of him, technically he's as good as anyone in our league, in the space of 3 games he's shown us he can over head the ball brilliantly and he's smart enough of a player to already strike up a partnership with Kenny (who of course deserves credit for this also). Going on the early days of his Gers career i think he was well worth the pursuit.
