IF we are interested and could somehow manage to find funds for this lad, then he could well see us as a good option with a look at getting to the EPL.

Kenny Miller - Another mercenary or underpaid and undervalued?

Jelavic/Fleck, Jelavic/Naisy sounds pretty good to me. But from what i've seen so far, Jelavic/Miller had already started to bear fruit after a very short time of getting to know each other. Also due to Naismiths probing in behind they 3 are looking like causing havoc for us in the near future. I think it we should go all out to preserve this spearhead.- 27 replies

I play football with a couple of Turkish lads and they're 2 of the nicest guys you could ever meet. One of them has a mate who plays for Besiktas so we were thinking of going over there next year for a game against either Fener or Gala as we'd have tickets. Taxi straight to the ground me thinks ;-) Also had my first ever holiday abroad in Turkey, gorgeous country with very welcoming people. Football seems to bring out the extreme in a lot of them. However a lot of this is due to very bad policing.

Man City are unpredictable, we could just as easily catch them on a good day as we could a bad. Can't say i know too much about Villareal this season but Spanish sides are always quality. We could take Liverpool (REF Man City) as for the Russians, we'll you just don't know. My point to you mate is why you being so negative? Freedom of speech or not i can't be arsed hearing it and don't really see the point in it. I remember the season we got to the Final and remember thinking our team is just like a sponge, we soak up all the pressure and and nick a goal. Worked last time so why not this time round? Unless you have a crystal ball and can see the future??

End of the day,he hasn't stated he wants out. He wants to finish his career winning trophies. He's earnt a better contract IMO and with possible new owners he's following good advice to hold out a little longer to see if he can get more money. No one knows what he's asking for, may not be that much at all. Can see where he's coming from despite our financial situation, he shouldnt be made to feel like he should take a cut when he's been consistantly one of our better performers not to mention an international.- 27 replies

That'a the spirit, no surrender. Comon man, why so negative? The only teams i'd be looking to avoid would be CSKA Moscow (who are looking pretty good) and Sevilla/PSG both of course good sides. Over 2 legs i'd fancy our chances against every other side.

Ally has earned his chance when you consider the commitment he has made to our great club throughout his career. I'm sure when SWS departs Ally will make his changes and put his own mark on the club. He's had enough time to prepare so i think it's actually a very shrewd move by Rangers. Can he make the grade as a top manager? Only time will tell but McCoist has ALWAYS been known as someone with a likable, infectious personality. It's difficult even for the Tims to dislike him. So i'm sure he can get the best out of the players he has, it'll just be down to his tactics.

Strange call that one. He's paid his due's as an assistant for a number of years and i thought he seemed like a talented young British manager. Again they get thrown on the scrap heap. Hope he bounces back. Jol to take over, lucky he's availiable as i think he's a cracking manager.

Let him come (Ireland that is) we'll see how good he is when he has the likes of Darren Dodds hacking the shit out of him.

Russia will be good, how many guys will be getting Russian brides after this? But i'm stunned England didn't get anywhere near it, FiFA seems to have it in for the English. Can't believe Qatar got it,they clearly bought it IMO. Australia put so much work into it and i think would have been a much better choice. Perhaps im being biased but this is surely one of the most least attractive WC's to date?? FIFA are a joke, full of old fuddy duddies that are clearly out for their own interests.

You forgot to mention Beatie and Webster ;-)

Gutted about the result, it's a killer right at the end. Did't see the game (wasn't on normal telly in OZ) but listened to it on talk sport. Seen the pen incident and was a stick on pen. Poor play by Naisy getting caught wrong side but i'm sure fatigue played a big part in that. Look, i'm not overly down hearted by the outcome. Ok we are out of the CL but i reckon we'll have a better chance of doing something in the Europa. Looking at the overall picture we MUST aim to make the league our priority and win that this year perhaps more than ever. It'll be Ally's first year incharge and i wouldn't feel optimistic in him going into his first season in charge with the pressure of having to win the title back. On the flip side the Mhanks will be even more frustrated should we win it again this season. So the league is by far,by far our main priority. In terms of performance, i think we did well to just get an 11 out on to the pitch. By all accounts we were pretty solid but just lacking composure with our passing when we were attcking. Concern has to be our injuries, we need players back and NEED the Beaties and Websters to get it together and start to contribute cause we will need every single last one of them. Huge game this weekend at a tough venue so we need to pick ourselves up and start thinking ahead to that.

Not one happening? Bit of a shame if there isn't...

Who's the new signing? ;-)

It's Utd's fault for showing up and not lying down.

Thats fantastic, Well done to all involved.

Wow that was bad, maybe a tad harsh to be the worst but debatable. It's a shocker of a miss but the lad is clearly so one footed so its more due to poor technique. If he'd missed it with his right foot then it would have been the worst miss ever. P.S WTF was the keeper doing?
-
Of course we all want to know his plans for the club, where he see's us in 10/20 years. My question is why now? Why has it taken so long for this guy to show an interest? Lots more to come to light over the next few days and as exciting as it is,i'll keep my feet on the ground with this one. This story has come from nowehere and already some sections of the press are saying it's a case of dotting the 'I's" and crossing the 'T's'. It surely won't be this smooth, never really is. Long way to go on this story i feel.

The man is obviously an ego maniac. If he really had any care for his sheep then he'd walk and never return. However i'm enjoying watching it all the same. I really hope we put the final nail in the coffin this weekend.

Wouldn't take long to do this these letters, they'll have a template for them...

Yep,we have bigger games (of course they're all big) coming up, and we need to rotate. That doesn't mean changing the starting line up by 4 or 5, just maybe a couple at a time. Would like to see it happen now because for 1,it's needed and 2, it's much more less likely to happen at the buisness end of the season.

Anyone else miss the days when it was about the football?
bluedan replied to Norris Cole's topic in Rangers Chat
I'm a bit tired of it too. I'm sick of going on a website to see a result and it's Referee's this and Septic fans banner's that. I'm actually beggining to think some of these issues are magnified to cover up just how poor the game in our country is these days. Surely there is some quality and skill in the SPL??? Why can't this be the focus of attention? It's kind of off putting and fast becoming boring for me... -
Never nice to see a player needing surgery but in Dods's case it's a bit of karma. The guy is a thug.

I can compare the club to the team i play for in Melbourne. Although they're on totally different ends of the scale, there are many similarities. At my club we are the only team in the league that doesn't pay players (rangers are skint). Theres guys in my league on $1000 per week. But at our club we are purely there for the love of the game and the bond in the club right through to the reserves is fantastic. You rarely find that in football. Even the fans at my club, we've got a guy whos missed 1 match in 28 years, and that for for his daughters wedding. Rangers, best supporters in the world. Walter first and foremost has done an amazing job, his track record at building a fighting spirit amoungst players is clear but guys like Coisty and Durrant play massive roles too. Us as Gers fans have been fantastic, we're sensing that although not the most gifted side in terms of skill, we do play good football and we'll never surrender. We kick every ball with them and the players know and apprechiate it and its showing through the results. So to sumise, i think this is one of the best Rangers teams, it feels a lot more personal, we are in it together more than ever before and long may it last. WATP :robbo:
