Well, Durrant seemed to be at every first-team match anyway, sitting with Walter upstairs. I agree that he had an amazing talent and I also agree Jon that he was underplayed on his return.

Merely flippant - as I said I can't really think of anyone around of the quality we want that'll be both in our price range and willing to come to Scotland. I suppose there must be guys out there - if we had seen Cuellar playing the way we have before we signed him, would we have expected him to come to Scotland. So there are bargains to behad, just a case of finding them. That's where I'm afraid we'll struggle. Look at someone like Luka Modric - if we had had a scouting network, we could've discovered him last summer and picked hm up for 2 or 3 million - now he's at Spurs and cost 16 million. Realistically, it's guys looking for a last pay day before retirement or youngsters looking at us as a stepping stone. Both have worked well for us in the past, but equally both have been disasterous.

Listen, I'm not trying to put Nacho down, I love the wee guy and he has come up with some really important goals for us, but can you realy deny that he is, as I said, a bit hit and miss? 36 goals in 115 Rangers appearances isn't a fantastic return. And, at my age i think a trial at Murray Park might just have passed me by.

What does that have to do with how good a player he is? I'm a bluenose and, given the chance would give my all for Rangers, but as I can't kick a ball in the direction I'm looking, I doubt anyone would be terribly happy with me starting the next old Firm game.

Well, with all these players that were so good, why did we finish so far behind Celtic? That was a poor team. Hutton played hafl a season, Ferguson hasn't played well since the treble, Prso really wasn't as good as the praise he gets and Novo is the most hit and miss player I think I've ever seen.

We saw last year when he started putting Torres in regularly how good he is. Can't see rafa making that mistake again.

See, Lennon is a proper winger - goes at his man, hits the bye-line, gets in a decent cross from a dangerous area. But you're right, he does play wide right. If their looking for a left winger, Affelay, the young Dutch boy looked very, very good in the EUROS. Pete, I'm sure, will tell us more.

Last season? I've never seen Downing do anything impressive. Despite what the press say, he isn't a winger, he's a bog standard left midfielder. The fact he has England caps shows how stuck they have been for someone on hte left.

Hemdani seemed to give the ball away a lot last year, and his main strength is keeping the ball and playing a simple pass. If he is going to stay he will need to improve a lot from last year. Having said that, the year before, he was outstanding (or was he the best of a very bad lot?).

Jon, Downing is fucking awful. Another supposed winger who can't beat a man and crosses the ball from in line with the 18 yard line. Pile of pish. They would be as well with Chris Burke.

Absolutely. Alonso is a brilliant player - I like Barry to, but for 18 million, I would stick with Alonso.

One of the guys I look after has just bought himself the new yellow Tims top. He got McDonald 7 on the back - �£60!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's absolutely ridiculous.

I find it amazing that on the back of three quarters of an, admittedly very good, season, Abebeyor is now a �£35million player!
