Can I just ask, what the fuck is going to learn by bringing in Weir and Alexander. They have a combined age of over 70 and about 80 odd caps between them!!!! I could understand calling them up if it's a qualifier, but for a friendly?
-
Don't worry, wasn't taken that way. Just accept that when and if we ever have a Gersnet meetup, you're buying the beers

I liked Naysmith at Hearts, and when he first went to Everton, but has been bothered by injuries and the last couple of times I've seen him, he doesn't look the player he was.

We'll have bouncers on the gates to keep you out. Jinx!!!

Only has 6 caps though. Isn't it supposed to go on percentage of national games over a period of time? Although I think that certain circumstances are taken into account i.e. if he's fairly young and only just made an international breakthrough but is highly rated I presume by a panel of 'experts'.

Good hope he gets regular football and comes back and shows us how good a player he can be. Thik the Championship will be better for him than the SPL.

I still think that this is an area, both sides, where we need strengthening. I noticed that Juan Pablo Sorin has been released by hamburg - getting on a bit, but a proper left back and someone with a wealth of experience. The other one I noticed is Moritz Volz at Fulham -Ipswich have apparently had a half million pound bid accepted. Both players I think would enhance the squad and probably even the first team. Anyone any other notions of full backs we could have a look at?

I'm going to employ an analyst to provide reports on this thread!!

We used to have a ticket section here on the old boards. If you don't ask you don't get. Anyone got a free ticket for the Reading Festival?
-
Obviously I could be wrong here, but if he had any sensehe would have ensured something in his contract with Juve that they would take care of at least a significant percentage of any compensation.
-
Not hugely taken, but as I've just won one I'll wear it when I go to the game on Wednesday with the tickets that I won too!

The photo has been taken by a midget whilst everyone is standing up!

I think he's more left sided, I'm sure I read that somewhere. I think Bresciano can play anywhere accross the midfield, but from what folk have been saying I think that deal is dead. I really hope Davis isn't signed to play wide right. What about a midfield diamond ---------------Thompson----------- --------Davis--------------Mendes--- ---------------Niguez--------------- -----Boyd------------------Eto'o---

The wee bits I saw, Chelsea were looking well saucy. Deco will thrive by being the main man again after being a supporting player at Barcelona. Villa will do very well this season because, much as it sticks in my throat cos he's a wee dick, Martin O'Neill is an exceptionally good manager andf is getting together a very good team. I think Spurs will be excellent entertainment through the season, but will leak as many goals as they score. And did anyone see Artetas fre kick against Blackburn? Nice to see Paul Robinson off to a good, solid start!

Craig, you've obviously no idea of care sector salaries. I repeat, 25 grand, I fucking wish!!!!

I had a Thai curry last night. That's about it, it's been a quiet week. -
Where did you get that from Fraser?

Good read, but it's nothing the average supporter hasn't been saying or thinking for 6 months.

Now, the wee guy does a power of running, has scored some important goals for us and was by far our best player last night. But he's inconsistent, seriously lacking in composure and would struggle to cross a road. Not only that, he's a striker playing wide right. Yet he seems immune to any sort of criticism. If it had been Miller playing those 'crosses' in last night, he would have been slaughtered. Is Novo really the standard we have to settle for at Rangers these days? I've no real objection to him playing as a striker, getting a run, because he'll score goals, but the wee guy is never a winger!
-
I've been very critical of him, didn't want him back and was sickened when he was handed the captaincy back as if it was some divine right of his. But, in answer to Cammy's question, he's probably still the best midfielder in the squad. But I don't think he would have made the difference last night. He may have done, but he is so consitently inconsistent that you can't count on him for anything other than having a torn face and a go at the ref at some point. To be honest, it's not that we missed Captain Marvel, just that we are missing a decent midfield. Velicka could have made the difference by taking his chance, as could Miller by taking his.

I agree, the wording is a bit OTT, but I also agree that it's time for Walter to go. I defended him as much as I could last season as he was getting results. That's not happened in the crunch games and has cost us the 2 major trophies and a fortune in European revenue. Unfortunately, that is why the CHamp leahue is important to us, cos we just ain't gonna win it in my lifetime! He's reliving the mythical ten in a row season - misguided loyalty to players past their prime, an inability to come up with a plan B when things aren't working and not giving players who may, or may not, be able to enhance the team a chance - we'll never know, because his single(narrow?)-minded attitude won't allow him to give them a run (Buffel, Gow, Fleck, Furman, Lennon, Boyd, £3.5million signing Lafferty). He's made huge mistakes in blowing at least a huge chunk, if not all, off our transfer budget on enhancing the squad when it was the first team itself that was drastically needing re-shaped. There are bargains out there - El-Hadj Diouf £2.5 mill, Alan Smith £1.5 mill, Teemu Tainio, Steed Malbranque, Geovanni. These guys have experience at the highest level and I think would have considered coming to Ibrox witht he promise of trophies, league titles and Champions League football. They won't get that at Sunderland or Hull.

It shouldn't matter if there are 100 clubs interested - if they bid 10 it has to be accepted if that's the clause. It's then down to the player where, and if, he wants to go. Anyway. these ruomours have been flying about all summer and I knew after Tuesday they would be coming out the woodwork. He'll stay - we'll just need to organise some sort of border control to stop him leaving!!
