I've been doing some major decluttering and came across this at the back of a cupboard in the garage. I used to have a club deck hospitality box in the nineties and noughts and they gave out momentos like this to box holders and guests on European nights. I've still got quite a few around the place but I have absolutely no memory of this particular game, including whether we won or lost. In any case, after the pain of the last few years, it's nice to be reminded of better times.

Cant speak for the latter part but the former does say "some" which could be taken as being that not all in attendance are considered as one of the best ever to have played for the club.

Semantics aside, I'm still at a loss as to what qualifies Iain Ferguson to get employment at the club to do PR/hospitality work every other Saturday

Sure he's a perfectly nice bloke, and as I said I've nothing whatsoever against him but surely there are ex players with 10 times more appearances than him who would  be more recognisable to the punters.

I saw him when he first got the gig at Ibrox, and said to a Gersnet member I was with at the time, "Who's that?"   he didn't know either.

Sorry to deviate in the Tiny thread guys.

  3. Well done Tiny a well-deserved tribute and fascinating account of her families links to the Rangers

The article opens with this (under a photo)

A VERY special guest – Mary ‘Tiny’ Gallacher – took in last night’s match and was given a guard of honour by some of the best players to have ever played for the club.

Nothing against the man but can someone tell me how Iain Ferguson gets that accolade or how he has found himself employed as a hospitality “legend”?

    32 games for Rangers

    I’m baffled

    Love Tiny though

In future I’d suggest this sort of protest is for Club1872 to organise.

maybe so, but what demos have they organised up to now, some decent statements via supporters voice recently I'll grant them that, but haven't seen any direct action requests from them.

the bbc demo was a direct response to jim traynors interview and his suggestion that fans take action against the bbc.

how many pages does the Pacific quay musings thread have on this site? think that demonstrates the interest in this issue, and tbh my opion is that it really shouldn't matter who organises an event, if you agree with the cause and the demo is lawful and designed to address an issue without bringing any disrepute to rangers or the attendees then it should be supported.

No idea.  I was there at just after 1pm and didn't see anyone other than polis and a few bears leaving....

Weather was awful and it should have been cancelled.

demo was brought to an end early simply because of the weather, sorry the late arrivals missed it , know of quite a few who turned up a bit too late, the organisers were aware this may have been the case but decided to call it a day for the sake of those who turned up at 12:45 and were soaked through by 1 o'clock.

big thanks to those who made the effort whether on time or not, know not everyone could make it for the KO time, so appologies to those who made it as soon as they could but missed the demo.

Europe has been a fantastic distraction but it has also helped paper over the cracks in our domestic form. When you consider we are 1pt better off than we were at this time last year it shows how erratic we have been.

We need to attempt to find a settled XI and stick with it. IMO squad rotation can only work with teams that have played together for a while and have a recognisable style of play.

    agreed, need stability.

They send you a cassette of Claudia Winckleman discussing the latest fashion accessories and a framed picture of Chris McLaughlin's left armpit.

Scary but we're Rangers fans, we can stand up to this intimidation.

switch that around and I'm in.

think winklemans armpit would be most aesthetically pleasing.

Left the house last Tuesday at 03.15 to catch the red eye to Paris endured 3 hours in the hell that is Charles De Gaulle then to Vienna, at Vienna aitport went to get the CAT train into the Main Station but the lift was broken so had to take a taxi. Did manage to blag a bogof with my bus pass for the 3 hour train journey to Graz.

Got the train from Graz to Maribor but had to be manhandled aboard a service bus to get back.

Up at 07.00 to get the train back to Vienna airport before a further 3 hours of hell in Charles De Gaulle. Got home at 11pm on Friday shit deen.

Spent Saturday organising flights and filling in the visa (no small task)!

Up at 06.45 to drive to Killie and home the back o 7.

Up this morning at 06.45 to drive to Edinburgh to hand in the visa, a slightly easier experience than I thought though the £108.40 did sting. Bird checked my form an said "there is a mistake that will be £5" .  :seal:

Maybe getting ahead of myself, but looking likely it may be thrown out. Time will tell

"Looking likely it will get thrown out"  where do you get that from ?

The hearing, which was to have take place today before Lady Wolffe, was postponed at the last moment after what was described as a ‘legal problem’. Lady Wolffe rescheduled the proceedings until October

  11. suppose it doesn't help much given our contractual situation, but thought I'd have a quick look at how others operate.

picked Everton, at random, they have a pretty slick looking online shop.

Ts and Cs say it is owned and operated by Fanatics International PLC.

never heard of them but obviously they are a company with an abilty to provide the infrastructure requied to provide online facilities and get everton shirts and merchandise into high street outlets.

demonstrates  the big names like sd , jd aren't the only options for partnership.

  12. 200 employees pre jjb, that's a significant infrastructure, never mind premises.

Rangers have agreed a 10-year licence agreement with sports retailer JJB Sports worth a minimum of £48m.
The Glasgow club will receive an initial payment of £18m on 7 June, when they launch their new Umbro home kit.

A guaranteed minimum annual royalty of £3m will be received by Rangers in each year of the licence.

Rangers chairman David Murray said: "It will allow for the reduction of the club's debt and enable further investment to be made in the team."
Murray, who had promised a major announcement once his side were out of the Champions League, said the club's facilities would also benefit.

But there is sure to be job losses, with the present Rangers Shop chain, which employs 200 people, likely to close.
