I simply don't believe our refs are incompetent, I believe they are corrupt. That's just my view but I would like to highlight one important thing. If there is decades of cover up within a footballing institution, that's now allegedly being ignored and swept away by those in political power, why would anyone  think that our referees would not be as corrupt as the rest? The stench of this is everywhere. I don't know if we will ever get to the bottom of it?

I don't buy in to the corrupt theory (for the time being) I do however believe that the refereeing imbalance is caused by a very poor standard of official,  combined with a cowardly propensity to take the easy decision.  Years and years of legal challenges to every contentious ruling against separate entity combined with a stunning pr machine, has resulted in our football officials favouring only one side. Now this may be institutionally subconscious,  but if it is not, then you are correct and corruption is  occurring.  Either way they are unfit to perform their duties.

Belated Edit - I looked at that @ranger_syntax  and thought you were just having a play on words but for the life of me couldn't work out what it could be, taken all the fish jokes for penny to finally drop, guess I just don't associate sea fish with pond fishing, no excuse really though, I'm just painfully slow on the uptake.

That is indeed the theory though it's been rarely enforced.

I think we'll see several initiatives to make better use of tickets some carrots like the Seat Sub stuff, some sticks like the ban on reprints (purely a cash raising exercise from the Club) and I think it inevitable that the issue of rarely used season tickets particularly juveniles will get addressed in the not too distant future.

Indeed, the reprint issue demonstrates that fundamentally the club don't really have a concern about empty seats that are already paid being filled with non ST ad hoc punters, they are only interested in those seats being resold to increase matchday revenue.

in theory I have no real issue with this but the practicalities and consequential effects should also be considered.

You, more than anyone are aware of the fiscal realities of running a supporters bus from a remote area, would your bus have been viable for all these years without the income from reprint sales?

Something I will never, ever understand.

I took my kid to Liverpool game v Brighton in late November at Anfield.  Had to be up at 4am for a flight but never got home till gone midnight.  I understand blueflag's pain because the next day is absolutely brutal.  But was I missing the end of the game ?  Nope.  It is a little different for me though as I don't get to as many games as I would like to in a season so I sit till the bitter end - even when watching us under Pedro, which was usually brutal viewing after the 1st 10 minutes :(

But when people would rather be in the pub with a pint in hand than actually supporting their team I just can't understand it, no matter how poor the performance is.  It's the reason for being there in the first place.

I  take advantage of the Govan smokers facility, you would be very surprised at the amount of punters who leave at half time, every game.

on the original topic, I believe, and @forlanssister will be able to verify, that in regards to disabled STs, underusage could result in forfeiture. this is due to a long standing demand v availability disparity.

As it seems this criteria now also applies to the accessible seating, shouldn't the ST purchase conditions correlate?

  7. Further to OP,

after 19 games we are actually 12 points better off than at the same point in 18/19  (games played rather than time of year)

and our points tally after playing every other team for the first time this season is 9 points better than last season.

We are 3 games from playing each other team twice, at that point last year we had gained 42 points, so if we win our games against Ross Co, St Johnstone and St Mirren we will be 17 points improved.

Exactly. The club has been put at risk and we have the sight of that being fatuously put down to 'daily record hearsay'. Which is precisely the type of response those who hate the club want to see.

Denial of indisputable recorded reality is exactly what they want to see because that makes the support look ridiculous and by extension the club look ridiculous.

Denial of something that didn't happen is not ridiculous, it's superfluous

No charges relating to chanting, therefor as far as UEFA are concerned nothing happened, I’m aware of nothing from FARE so assume they heard nothing.

In fact the only sources who seems determined to highlight this are the usual suspects in the gutter media and some forum contributors.

For the record I neither condone nor condemn anything I have not personally been involved with or witnessed, nevertheless I do absolutely respect your right to comment on anything and everything you wish.

However, I sometimes wonder if the overall interests of Rangers are best served by open forum contributors unequivocally confirming incidents that the club have not been cited for by the governing bodies.

Ask yourself this, in this particular case and time who are doing the most damage to our club? A few over exuberant travelling fans who may or may not have added a few words to a Neil Diamond song or those who continue to feed the HNC accredited trolls masquerading as journalist in Scotland who scavenge social media for unverified third party opinions.

I assume such activities are being funded to satisfy the CIC aspects of the organisation.

That's fair enough in some ways but I'd suggest RFC should be doing that as part of its community work but then others will say success on the park has to be a priority.

At the end of the day it's a democratic organisation so the members decide and it seems the vast majority are happy.  Whether or not such stuff attracts new members remains to be seen but I don't think it's all that important in the grand scheme of things.

I would imagine it would certainly attract new members from the walking football community looking to get somebody else to pay for their leisure pursuits.

  10. Dream fund aside, walking football ? really?  members funds being used to subsidise other folks hobbies?

I'm not a member so don't have a say and my opinion is irrelevant but funding this sort of thing does absolutely nothing to incentivise me to become a C1872 participant.

  13. This is very much a head v heart issue for me.

Head says we lost the battle for free use of the word ****** years ago (and I refuse to self-censor that word since they have taken to publically using it to characterise themselves) and that appears to be the offending term at issue whether it be in TBB or Super Rangers.

The regulatory authorities at every level have been coerced to believe it is derogatory to Roman Catholics despite the historical evidence to the contrary. So be it.

Nobody wants to be continually sanctioned by UEFA and I fully support any measure that helps to eliminate any behaviour that endangers our participation.

The club have taken action to discipline some of the offenders, and it is only some, to say BF1 are the only ones to sing “offensively” is clearly drivel, they may be the worst offenders and by sitting collectively are easily identified as a single entity and targeted for punishment but they are not guilty in isolation.

But was this the correct path to take? Is this the route Separate Entity FC would have taken?

No danger, they would have closed a section up in the Gods, had some serious talks with TGBB and thrown them a few bones in return for a promise of good behaviour for a few weeks.

Nevertheless my head says the UB know they have been doing wrong and deserve sanction, but I also believe the club have tackled the issue very clumsily, they should have been making the seriousness of the situation clear to UB some time ago and made the repercussions crystal clear to everyone in that section, then perhaps, we wouldn’t be where we are now.

What does my heart say though? Well to be honest is despairs at the tone of some of the comments in this thread, you would almost get the impression that some of the posters on here are only too happy to turn on their own. Good grief we even have some bringing the UVF into this, that’s dangerous territory and something I would expect more from the likes of Speirs than a Rangers supporter, my Great Uncle was in the UVF and was killed at Ypres in 1917, the day his memory becomes taboo will be when hell freezes over.

The UB are no angels but without them our match day experience would be much the poorer, sure if you sit near them I’m sure the constant noise could become tedious, but without them Ibrox becomes a library.

My heart has some sympathy for the UB, they have done more for the atmosphere at Ibrox in recent years than anyone, and that includes not just the songs but also the displays which they raised funds for themselves and we all enjoyed. They are young lads full of passion for goodness sake, has everyone forgotten what they were like at that age? They need educated not kicked in the balls from fellow bears.

IMO the club have, rightly or wrongly, maybe just given them the kick up the backside they need to wise up and that’s enough for me, I won’t be jumping on the sanctimonious bandwagon to berate fellow Rangers fans on a public platform.

I thought this at first, but it seems there has been a lot going on behind the scenes. ITK posters on FF (posting before this news was announced) say that FARE actually reported us 7 times last season, but the club persuaded Uefa not to charge us. Whether it was insufficient evidence or the club proving they had did all they could to prevent the singing I don’t know, nor do I know why these reports by FARE weren’t made public but maybe Uefa couldn’t be seen to condone sectarianism if they publicly found us not guilty (as they initially did in 2006). So it seems the club have known about & been fighting these charges for some time, but at the St Josephs game FARE finally obtained enough evidence to get us charged.

So the club are fighting these charges, & Uefa don’t find in favour of FARE every time. But it is all happening behind closed doors, apparently. Either way having the singing section led by a wee guy with a megaphone belting out TBB, songs about the UVF & Bobby Sands during European matches at Ibrox is clearly a bad idea. And if it happens again we will indeed be playing behind closed doors.

Fare, reports are available online,  you don't need to be ITK to access them.

Rangers were reported by them 3 times in 2018, twice in Europe and the December game against separate entity fc.

Oh Bill, how naive you are. The universe does care and it will punish you. There is a reason I touch the top of the exit door every time when I leave Ibrox, why my Dad always has Extra Strong Mints and must offer them to whoever is sitting beside him, why I'll only wear my white bar scarf to games, none of the others I own, why I won't listen to Radio Scotland for an Old Firm commentary but will listen to Five Live, why we have to park in the Science Centre car park for mid week games even though they changed the parking payment and it's a pain in the arse now. There's a reason why Rangers players who score on their debuts don't have good careers with us, why we should never bring an old player back and why we should always wear black socks with red tops.

If someone can provide me with documented, tested, peer reviewed evidence that none of those things plays any part in the result and my ongoing peace of mind I'll ignore them and continue doing them anyway. Because they'd be wrong!!!!

Football and superstition are intrinsically linked. There is nothing rational about football support, it's all emotion, it's all feelings and highs and lows and delirium and despair. So don't you bastards go jinxing it with your over confidence, because that's the worse jinx of all. The universe cares and it's watching all the time!

And that's why George Young was called Corky
