  1. 1. These guys sound like ambulance chasers to me. I wouldn't say 'likely to face claims'. and, 2. How can the ex players be expected to pay up tax? It was the club's duty to do that.
  2. Nobody since Dorrans Boabie. Matt Crooks has signed for Northampton though, but you might've seen that too. Plenty of rumours if you've got time to read the thread. Naismith and Walker continue to simmer.
  3. That's more like the humble determination that we need. Between King and Caxinha, we now have targets on our back following some of the more out there stuff that has been said. I like Alves' style. I hope he delivers. I wouldn't mind if he was made captain either.
  4. Excellent post. I agree with this, although you are really stating the facts. Also, if he was so enamoured with Warburton, why did he not sign an extension in February?
  5. The players and staff must not forget this embarrassment for the rest of the season. Every time the intensity and performance drops, the bell should be rung again. As Ranieri said, dilly ding dilly dong. This should be the driving force and used by the management team to get the players to prove each and every doubter wrong!!! We should hang a picture of the paper headline the morning after in the dressing room at Ibrox!!!

    Friendlies

Any friendly would be good for me. As long as it's a 6am KO in the UK
  7. I thought you meant the 1980's video of the history of the club with Dougie Donnelly doing the voice over. I wore that tape out in the 80s and managed to transfer it to DVD a few years ago, albeit with the tape wobbles chucked in for good measure ??
  8. Has a team from the first qualifying round ever won the Europa League?
  9. You're right, I remember going into the Nou Camp and being shocked at how much it was run down. That was about 15 years ago mind you so it may have been brought up to scratch since then. I thought "how European"!!
  10. I'm quite happy for both of them to stay. Dembele can't get better than he was this season. I reckon he's a Waghorn type. Waghorn played like a star..... against shite, then bombed when it mattered. Griffiths is 50/50.
  11. Check out dB's first post on this thread. He has done a great job of answering your question already ?? http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?84946-The-Pre-Summer-2017-transfer-rumours-and-hearsay-all-inclusive-Thread
  12. I use the Forza App for all my football needs. A fantastic all for live updates, fixtures, results, stats......
  13. Very strange match indeed. 2 fantastic goals from us and two mistakes from us to let them score!! Gutted.
  14. So it looks like we are still several years away from an end to this game, and therefore several more years away from the blockbuster movie with David Murray played by Ian Beale and Craig Whyte played by Ken Dodd!!

  16. I'm not sure that he is overly injury prone. He's not so young these days either, he's 25. If you look at Lee Wallace, his injury list up until he was 25 compares, and I wouldn't call him injury prone. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lee-wallace/verletzungen/spieler/36657 I do agree though that if Wilson stays, I can't see a way for him to stay in the first team unless adding good midfielders into the mix really boosts his performance.
  17. Yep. A clickbait headline too!! The headline should be CAN ABERDEEN FINISH SECOND AGAIN NEXT SEASON?
  18. I even mentioned to my Spanish workmate that they had beaten Real Madrid in the CWC final in 1983, dropped the names John Hewitt & Eric Black in there..... he raised his eyebrows and shrugged ?????
  19. The chip on the shoulder of Aberdeen fans is incredible. The sense of entitlement, injustice, the Wee Man syndrome, whatever you want to call it is sickly. They really believe that they are way better than they are all because of their seasons in the sun nearly 40 years ago!!! I have regular football chats with loads of Folk here in Oz, ranging from poms to yanks, Europeans, and Asians. I've got to admit that the vast majority of those that are properly into the game know who Rangers and C****c are, but not one single person outside of the British know who the sheep are. I couldn't help but laugh today when my colleague Jose, a Real Madrid fan asked if we won the league again this year ??. I said unfortunately we were third and I told him who won. He asked who was second. When I said Aberdeen, he screwed up his face and said "Never heard of them. Who the fuck are they?" He had no clue why I pissed myself laughing!!!
  20. I'm delighted with this as our first summer signing. Shows real intent. I think it's similar to them signing Toure last season except I reckon Alves is in better shape and is playing at a higher intensity and frequency. We don't have the centre halfs to keep Alves out though, so it's great that he is still delivering the amount of appearances at his age. The summer window really is the best time to get these players in. They come to Scotland around this time and see the country at its best. Warmish, lush and happy. I hope these signings from warm countries can adapt quickly. Great start to the window!!!!
  21. Tav isn't my kind of player in any position. I prefer a RB that defends first and foremost, and a right mid that gets box to box and makes late runs a bit like Durrant did at his peak. I agree, harley, that DM is the last position I'd have him. I just don't understand that one Rab sorry.
  22. Nice to see the manager giving of his time like that. When they tried to haul him away he pointed over and went back for more ?
  23. We need more than a combo of the best of Aberdeen and ourselves to overhaul the scum. Is Ryan Jack better than Brown (who will be a year older)? I hope so. I really don't want McGinn!!!!!! Not just because he's ex them, but I think he won't offer any better of an option than McKay right now. In fact I think Barrie is a better player, he just needs to be managed well. Alves for me would be a step in the right direction. We really need winners in there. Foderingham has that mentality that nothing will go past him, a real defensive mentality, and I don't think Wilson or Kiernan have that. They are more inclined to want to play the Beckenbaur pass to look good. Let's get that defence shored up and bring that old 'fortress Ibrox' feeling back. Nobody comes to Ibrox and expects to score!!!
  24. SJ 5-6 Rangers in an eleven goal thriller!! Fgs Alves
  25. I saw the last 20 minutes and it was not a Rangers team as I know it but Pedro using it almost like you'd use a pre-season friendly. I assume he will be able to use this as a lever for the board to stump up. Still a bit surprised by the amount of long balls though.
