Rangers are heading for another derby day demolition...
Barebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Over confidence may be their downfall this particular time. I'm glad we get another run at them in this cup before we try again in the league. I'm sure we'll see a closing of the 'gap' in this game, and then the league game at Ibrox will take care of itself. Put it this way, if we're not ready yet, then I'd rather the cup was where we discovered that. It's shaping up to be an interesting season and I'm sure they'll drop SPFL points after getting a scudding in Germany and Manchester where they need to push the boat out. -
I saw that. He wishes!!!!! What a pointless exercise that would be. Like trying to convince someone that hates cyclists that most cyclists are ok ? Or something like that ?

Bells not Brawls: Campaigners step up bid to movel Hogmanay Old Firm game
Barebear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Agree with you guys above. If it goes ahead, it will ko at 11:15pm here!!!!!!!! But I just happen to agree with the traditional ne'earday game. -
To bring the country together again behind the team, we need a manager with no Old Firm links, and a few players from both sides of Glasgow in the first 11. We need to step up with some decent Scots in the Gers team though. Every time there's an old firm manager, the deep rooted venom will rise as soon as they start to buckle slightly.

The reputation of our national team is in tatters, has been for years, but it's only when I left the country did I get the full appreciation of just how much of a laughing stock we are. People actually take pity on me for being Scottish because of our national team. Loads of the English folk here snigger when we talk of the 'Auld Enemy'! It's like Clyde trying to bum up a rivalry with Rangers!!

Sooner rather than later they way Barton plays around with Twitter!!

I reckon we at are looking at the new John Fleck!!! Have you seen his YouTube reel??!?! ? Pathetic stunt from them, they do believe in the Donald Trump philosophy of any publicity is good publicity!!

Following the conclusion of the Rugby League and AFL seasons, the A-League started here last night in Brisbane. Kevin Muscat's Melbourne Victory took a point, 1-1 against Roar who had captain Matt McKay sent of for a second yellow, very soft!!! The equaliser came in the 96th minute through a very scrappy lob following some head tennis and really poor defending!! I think the A-League is on BT Sport and although it's not top notch football, it's better than it used to be, and getting better year on year.

So the scoop by Jacko is that Barton will meet with Warburton on Monday morning. The rest is ifs and buts

I do. I'm not sure if I'm in the minority, but when I was still in the UK (left last year), I followed Scotland every bit as much as I did Rangers. There's a decent representation of us go to Scotland games too, and I enjoyed the mix of teams supported there. Saying that, there are one or two arseholes representing every team on Scotland trips, few and far between though, so best to avoid that minority and get on with it. So I quite like the International break. As I said, I might be in the minority here.

There is absolutely no doubt about it, someone will want him. There will be Championship teams who will bite his hand off if he wanted the same money he is on here, which is probably less than he was offered elsewhere when he signed for us. He was player of the year for a team in the play offs last season, and is a known quantity down there. This escapade will do nothing to put off clubs willing to take him, it is just another blip on his very blemished record, yet he will be good value for some teams, even if we try to cut our losses and make him available for free. Look at players like Balotelli, Di Canio, Mutu, Diouf... There's always a market for these kinds of players while they can still play a bit. He won't sit it out with us, he'll get paid more elsewhere if he makes the move sooner rather than later.
-
The betting thing's no big deal and won't have much of a bearing on his situation here. He'll likely get a one match ban which he'll serve while he is still too unfit to play anyway. I still reckon he'll be back on the bench before the end of the month and if he can't break into the team by mid January, he will be sold before the end of the next window.

Good point - watch this space for a book. I'm an audiobook man, but I don't think I could listen to his dulcet tones for 10 hours

I don't think there is any doubt that we will see JB back in a Rangers shirt sooner rather than later. If he knuckles down and works hard to prove himself, which I'm positive is in him, a stubborn streak, then he has the chance to make it here. If he fails to resettle, then both parties can go their separate ways in January, with us maybe even claiming a fee into the bargain. As it stands, I think if we can keep within touching distance of the European spots, then there isn't a great deal to lose over the next three months. If it's obvious JB is not helping the team, he sits out and gets sold in January.

Donald Findlay must go down as your stereotypical defense lawyer. Big name case, cash to be made, notoriety to be gained..... or is he going undercover?

A jag in the bum. Rangers v Partick Thistle Preview
Barebear replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
He does indeed. His passing could sharpen up though. I think that will come as he gets fitter, and he does seem to be improving there. I'd have given him the full 90, but if that was part of the plan...... -
I've got no idea why this Podcast comes out on a Friday. Two days max and it's out of date. I get that there are production lead times, but by the time I get round to listening to it, most of the conversations are pointless because they're talking about the preview for the weekend's game. If they could release on a Wednesday, that might be better.

Aberdeen v Rangers 25th September 2016 (FULL MATCH)
Barebear replied to JFK-1's topic in Rangers Chat
Works here on PC but not iPhone, mate. Can't say I'll watch that again, but good on you for downloading it. I have RTV so can see all of the games any time, however I'd sometimes rather listen to a decent panel discuss the game. Looks like this was Eck & McCann, so worth listening to I reckon. I also have BeIn Sports which is hit and miss. Commentary for the SC Semi was horrific! it was a Manc who had no co-commentator, and he was openly a Celtic fan, hated us! It's going to be difficult for me to watch all the games live here over the UK winter, so delayed transmission is often the way to go for me -
I'd say Nissy was more cult hero than unsung hero. In fact I'm not sure what category he fits into ?

There was a definite clamor for a penalty box striker, and you're right, Garner fits that description. For his style of play to work with us, we need Warburton to vary up the tactics. That goes for one or two others, so there is the scope to vary things if we get everyone fit. The "plan A better" approach needs to change if he's going to get the best out of this squad. It's certainly not Garner's fault he's not settled quickly, being asked to do something he's not used to doing.

Stuart Munro - it's always Stuart Munro in this type of conversation. Never got a full international cap, he was predominantly left out for Malpas, Gough and Nicol. Also Spackman was someone who wasn't noticed until he wasn't there. Both of those guys are in the original OP's list, but they'd be mine...

Hello People of Gersnet I joined a few days ago in need of some Gers and general football chat. I have been missing the football patter since moving to Oz last year. There are a couple of guys in work that know a bit about football ,but generally its rugby league and cycling that is the chat in the office. Although there is a Chelsea fan from the SE of England here who has an inkling of what old firm life is like. BB

That only applies when we get the luck!! Doesn't apply when we get shafted. ?

I don't think Russell dived, but it's obvious it wasn't a foul.
