Come on JFK. There are dozens of stats that you can spin either way. For example what does the stat mean where they have five players who've scored more than our top scorer in the league? I think it's obvious they are ahead of us and we need to buck our ideas up, quick smart. They've given us a doing twice already, granted the second was a tighter score line.

Agree this wasn't a game to replace like for like. It needed a change of tactics and that never came. We couldn't cross or hit the by line. Some creativity in midfield was needed.

Badly missing a decent midfielder who can make something happen. Holt, Halliday and Windass gave the attack nothing. We played packed defences for decades and had many midfielders who'd lay McCoist chances on a plate. Even the likes of Bobby Russell and later on, average guys like Charlie Miller could create. Holt and Halliday are giving nothing.

It's probably a cash thing. I'd say it's unlikely that he will get the same money quite so easily. Especially when he would be unlikely to pass a fitness test and maybe even a medical. I agree though that all being equal, if he found another club, we'd probably cancel his contract by mutual consent at any time. That will be the same situation in January.

I was thinking exactly that. I saw the first half of the up at Aberdeen last night before I went to bed and they looked so casual and big headed. If they drop their intensity it might be hard to get back. As long as we stay within single figures of them, they will have to look over their shoulders.

I agree, the lack of information if it was, say, a large company is understandable. But we need good communication in football, especially where it affects the fans, I.e. The paying customer.

That and there never seems to be a settled team either. How can they build up match fitness with all the chopping and changing. A lot of changes are made in the name of "game time" and I suppose the answer to that is that we now have sports scientists in there. If that is the answer then why are we so lacking in general fitness? We also lack strength and that showed up in the last 2 games. We're too easy bullied off the ball.

After watching Broonaldo shove our midfield about like they were wee boys, I want some steel back in there and if Barton comes back in, I won't mind as long as he gets his arse in gear and proves his point. I We did a huge amount of tracking, defending deep, last ditch stuff because we couldn't get on the ball as much. For a team that normally has more of the ball id say that says a lot about our willingness to do the dirty stuff. I agree they wanted it but you can't say we were any less up for it.

No complaints from me the way the result went. Gilks was great today and the fact it took a well taken goal like that is credit to the keeper. As for us, massive improvements in defending but still miles to go overall. Most of our team is a level below them but put in 100%. I see some progress. If we can challenge for second and maybe beat them once this season, it will be a good year.
