There seems to be some kind of consensus developing where we see the need for adaptation in styles of play at the right time. That probably involves more work on studying the opposition, like the old fashioned dossier, or simply going to the games. I'm not watching much non Rangers football at the moment but I don't get the impression that you'll see Warburton or Weir at a St Johnstone v Hearts game for instance. Gribz, that's a good point about every team raising their game. They smell blood and have absolutely no fear against us!!!

It doesn't take a fly on the wall to see that he's playing a high risk strategy. The tactics lend themselves to high risk high reward. Most mistakes are out of MW's control, that's true, but we should not be in the position where those mistakes are being punished every friggin time! MW can sort that out.

I agree with this scotjo. MW claims that foreign players take more time to settle compared to the UK based players he's been procuring, well Ian Cathro just burst that bubble. I am very stubborn in my work life and I find it difficult to swallow my pride and change my philosophy on certain things so I get it. But it must be done, different situations demand different solutions and he needs to find a solution now. He simply doesn't have the players to deploy his Barca approach.

Since they utilise all of this tech for analytics I'm sure they chart mistakes in some sort of Pareto way and are easily able to spot the repeat offenders. Or do they?????

Dare I say it, Kenny Shiels had something when he said that all other managers had MW's tactics worked out. There seems to be no real progress away from the struggling through, nicking a late win, or being out fought and needing some luck to win. When his style works, it looks great, but when it doesn't, my god we look pathetic!! Does he not understand tactics like keep it tight for the first 20 mins, then start to push players more advanced? It seems that there is only one way to play right from the kick off and that is to try to play possession football, but I really believe in there being merit in letting the opposition have the ball and play on the counter, drawing them out and hit on the break would have been a fair approach at Tynecastle too, but no - we stick to the plan and get shafted. I can take being beaten by a better team, but I really find it hard to stomach when a team out fights us!! We should never lose on will to win.

I'm sure most of this 'gap' chat has been chewed through before and it's fair that we're split on that topic, and it's obvious that none of us believe that they are world beaters. I said before that Brenda will NEVER get a transfer window as right as the last one again!!! And our last window was an unmitigated disaster. Warburton's first transfer window was a roaring success and he's found it tougher since. Brenda will find the same!! I expect them to lose players like Rogic and Dembele, Roberts goes back to Man City and probably Brown needs replaced too, so we'll see how it goes. It's not all about money for me.

You're right in that Holt and Halliday need to be replaced to let us step up. Unfortunately we need to look across the city to see where we need to be and neither of them are close to Brown or Rogic. Having said that, I don't think those two are untouchable, we should be able to beat them man for man in the middle.

Cummings is not for me. We had strikers last season who were on fire in that division and they've been less than impressive this year. I'd rather go to the sheep for their forward Johnny what's-his-name.

Great post Rab, this was my immediate thought when I looked at that graphic. We need the authorities to recognise and acknowledge that this has happened and the reason is as plane as the nose on Karl Malden's face!!!!! Do you think that will happen??

What a waste of time and money. As I said before, this has been a very sad episode for the compliance officer and the league. It was never going to fly unless they had proof of a punch from another camera angle which I assumed they did have. I assumed that was the case because why would any sane person proceed on the evidence from that existing camera??!?! I honestly don't understand this one and feel there's been some sort of job justifying going on, well that backfired big time and I'd now like to see some procedural changes in terms of how they can bring action based on TV evidence. A total waste of everyone's time and we should be compensated for that.

This is true. I've never thought of it like that before.

Not many successful teams don't have debt. But as long as each stakeholder is making money, and the bank is creaming interest, there's not a huge problem. Cash in the bank is a luxurious cushion for most businesses, and it's useless for a football team who constantly need turnover, players in and out.
