  1. She is quite right. Of course the DR highlights that statement as cutting Rangers allocation again when she specifically states it may happen irrespective of any particular club. No Rangers fan should buy the record.
  2. SPFL shouldn’t have any difficulty then in demonstrating appropriate disclosures and transparency. If of course sll this is above board then it still makes the SPFL look like they don’t care about the background of people they appoint with regards to impartiality. Their statement yesterday said ‘rubber stamping’ of the appointment took place. Sorry but in what other industry do you simply rubber stamp such an appointment or have the lack of acumen at that level to suggest it is merely a rubber stamping process. The role of Stewart Robertson who is on the board needs to be looked at purely from a Rangers perspective. If this was all disclosed, above board and he has also approved then he is out of his depth from a Rangers viewpoint.
  3. The Celtic fans behaviour has been getting out of control Stevie. The atmosphere is irrelevant when children are being deafened by flashbangs at a football match. The Celtic players themselves have been inciting their fans and it is clear that the authorities cannot manage them. That makes a potentially dangerous situation. If we can look after our own fans first that is more important and rewarding them with STs which include the biggest games is essential. We don’t need them in our stadium providing a spectacle for the watching world whilst injuring 10 year old Rangers fans.
  4. I agree it’s about setting out a stall and whilst the comments of the SFA guy are not the gravest in themselves you simply cannot accept that the SFA should be appointing other than exemplary individuals on to its Board. It is clear this chap has an open bias and cannot therefore be trusted to operate impartially. He is the one who made his bias clear - no one else is responsible. To accept people like this on to the Board of an organisation (which we all pay for & I noted comments from Spiers ridiculing us which shows his lack of understanding of how businesses and boards should work) is accepting mediocrity. Spiers basically said in the hierarchy of sectarian slurs this is nothing completely misses the point. The guy has been appointed to a Board to lead ALL the clubs and ALL the fans of Scottish football and if he has an open crudely declared bias to one club or against another he canot be trusted. This is wrong and his childish comments in a publication demonstrate a lack of maturity and awareness which someone in a senior role of this nature needs. And btw people like Spiers don’t pay a penny to the SFA it is normal fans and associate clubs who pay for them and to whom they are therefore accountable. Not him. Rangers are correct in highlighting how the organisation and its judgements may be compromised by inbuilt bias. With respect to the SPFL the question is what process the Board went through with regarding declarations made by the Celtic placeman. And let’s not beat about the bush he is a placeman but it is the competence and therefore integrity of the Board as a whole which is at stake. It is unlikely other players such as Budge, Dempster and Milne are simply going to ignore this even if the SPFL does. They may keep quiet in public but they will be taking note. Should the media now attack Rangers in this it will be all the evidence anyone needs that they too are in the pockets of Lawell. They are to stupid and lacking in integrity to recognise that they should be asking questions themselves. Sporting Integrity. You’re having a laugh.
  5. Rangers players should not support Celtic or be seen to support Celtic. Their fans are scum who want our club dead.
  6. There must be ways to do this in phases as FS suggests. Ploughing too much in fiesntbmske sense. Money could be raised through stadium naming rights, increase in ST prices with guarantee that the increase goes to stadium, sensible borrowing against future additional ST sales based on increased capacity, perhaps a cash injection from one of the richer owners and naming sections of the new parts of the stadium after him, lottos, fan zones,, sponsorship with building and engineering firms, share issue, debentures (yes I know) etc. Dave King has promised ‘exciting’ stadium redevelopment for 2022 so they will do something. I agree with the overall sentiment that success on the pitch is of primary importance but the two go hand in hand and if the facilities are good such as upgraded toilets, better seating, good quality food and drink, shops, fan zone, museum etc and the product on the park is good you create a virtuous circle.
  7. Perhaps if we played in a bigger market and could build a super stadium as a result it would be more palatable but in Scotland I doubt we need much more than what we have though I’d like to see some increase in capacity at Ibrox. So it looks like a no from me Pete
  8. I think he will be a lot less tolerant of defensive slackness than Wes. If Tav in particular doesn’t do his defensive duties he’ll be told in no uncertain fashion.
  9. When he went to Hull I told my pals there he was a tip keeper compared to previous and they have been very happy with him. If you look on sofascore (decent app) it profiles players by certain attributes such as shot stopping, aerial etc. He comes out average compared to others but it’s not clear what the group being measured is. However if he is still a good championship keeper he is a step up from Wes imo and certainly worth a free transfer. We have a couple of good young keepers coming through so increasing current quality with a future succession plan seems the right thing to do.
  10. It’s not clear why this is the top story on BBC Scotland website the day after for example the Scottish Parliament overwhelmingly rejected the Brexit process. I would have thought the latter story rather than a story about wordsmithing Rangers response on this issue was of higher national importance - by some considerable margin. They can discuss, refine, wordsmith Rangers response all day long but it’s pretty clear that if there is a case for compensation then this needs to be discussed at least in conjunction with the company in liquidation who may have had a duty of care and not in the first instance with the new owners. I imagine it will be a complex argument deciding who was in fact culpable, what actually happened and what Rangers, Oldco, the police and the victim did to address the problem so why the current owners should apologise right now for an alleged act committed by a dismissed employee of the previous owners is beyond me. As I understand it the boys parent fully engaged with Rangers and the police at the time so we would have to understand what took place in those discussions. Hopefully more than the actions of Hibs who could have informed everyone of Neelys predilection for children but allegedly (by Daly himself telling us this) chose not to as it would harm their youth recruitment programme. The moral responsibility Rangers have is to help ‘David’ navigate the process to ensure he gets justice which is what they are doing and to offer support for the individual which it looks like they are doing. The report could easily have been constructed with that positive headline rather than as a clear and amateurish attempt by Daly to smear Rangers. Clearly the accusations from Desmond that he is a Rangers supporter are still ringing in his ears. Anyone who thinks the hand of others at another prominent Glasgow club in orchestrating brand damage to Rangers is not in evidence here could perhaps be accused of naivety. Of course I am not alleging that is definitely the case but there seems to be a pattern emerging with respect to Rangers and the media which is worth examining in detail and challenging. For every good news story involving Rangers such as SG then issue some dirt. For every bad news story involving Celtic such as Torbett where we know a cover up was in operation then deflect to Rangers. They must think we are stupid.
  11. Took the words out my mouth. It is in their DNA to feel cheated. They brought the house down and rebuilt it to their own spec. It is a pretty shocking indictment of professional standards within the SFA that the position designed to uphold standards of compliance is not open to transparency and examination itself. Unfortunately we have been marginalised by a combination of Murray’s stupidity and Lawells plotting. Navigating through this web in a small inward back scratching society like Scottish football is virtually impossible. The media is equally culpable for the existence of bias and you can safely say that none of these people have the interests of Scottish football at heart. They have the interests of Celtic at the centre of their actions and inactions. There is only one answer and that is to put the ball in the net and when we are denied points through blatant cheating call it out. Our inability to get results through on field incompetence means we just sound like moaners but if SG turns it round on the park then people like Robertson (or rather unlike Robertson as he’s not capable) need to turn it around off the park. We have still heard absolutely nothing from our club about the flash bang which temporarily deafened a 10 year old fan. Sums it up.
  12. It will end up with a fine if that. The real joy is the pain it causes the haters. This is about Lawell appeasing the demented over res12. He has placemen such as Maxwell. Scottish football has box office stuff going on, Rogers, Gerrard, Lennon, Aberdeen new stadium, Clarke, Hearts new stadium and refreshing youngsters. In in the meantime the SFA is bending over to Lawell to try and destroy Rangers because of hatred. No Rangers fan should step foot in another club’s stadium or attend a Scottish Cup match. Give your money to Rangers.
  13. Well summed up Rick. Doubt SG and GM will be so quiet. Their heavyweight status may reap benefits in this area. They have the clout to expose the laughing stock of refereeing in this country to a UK and beyond audience. If the authorities continue with this level of bias they will do it at a cost.
  14. He has the experience and ability to drop into a holding role as he ages a la broonaldo. Except he’s played consistently at a much higher level.
  15. ..,and if he doesn’t have genuine addiction issues Coop?
  16. The only reason 2016 is such a big deal for them is because for the previous 114 years they have been shiite. We are now 2 years into the next 114 year cycle.
  17. This is about the quality and pace of the centre backs or back 3 for me. Top clubs use the system because they’ve got superb central defensive cover. Ours have not been suited to the formation imo. If wf can get good paced defensive cover then Tav and John would be much better players. Of course the other aspect is you cant give the ball away so easily in the final third and you need players good at getting it back to allow your wing backs time to reform defensively (when not counter pressing). Hence the frustration with players like Windass who can’t tackle and hide too often. As Frank says ‘it all depends’ But for raw quality our wing backs are pretty decent imo.
  18. Getting rid of slackers counts as a deed.
  19. Absolutely. He’s actually ripping off fans many of whom are earning low wages and who are subsidising his attitude problem and his non-contribution. We are still trying to raise this club from the wreckage and he isn’t putting his shoulder to the wheel. For the record I’ll wager I drink more than Pena. But as we seem to be a club tolerant of signing people not up to doing the job they are paid for i’ll do a deal and sign for just 5k a week. His feet shouldn't touch touch the ground. If he doesn’t adapt immediately or within a few days then clear him out. If we lose money we lose money but accepting the level of commitment he has shown will undermine everything SG has said so far and undermine the raising of standards we need across the club.
  20. We need to get shot of him. Pedro put faith in him twice, gave him enough money to last a lifetime and he put two fingers up in gratitude. Pay him off. Guy is a loser.
  21. A million goals have been scored or missed because of a mm one way or the other as a boot connects with a ball. Whose to say there wasn’t a few of those last night? Hitting the woodwork is as good as hitting the corner flag. We hit the woodwork 3 times against Progress but we were hopeless.
  22. Before the game Richard Gordon swept aside any question that Aberdeen may not be better than Rangers despite noting they had lost all 3 previous games between the clubs this season. The argument was that Aberdeen were clearly better because they were more consistent against the others, mainly the lower clubs. I get that but the summary dismissal of the record between the clubs and the fact there is only one point between them was of no consequence in the debate. They of course didn’t reference the catalogue of outrageous decisions which have cost Rangers points but that is my naivety to expect impartial observation. We also had the usual debate on budgets and the almost sneering observations of Rangers and glorification of McInnes’s Aberdeen because Rangers have a bigger budget (no reference to the fact we sell 43k season tickets and regularly fill our stadium therefore maybe our fans deserve a bigger budget for players). I honestly think they have gone so far now and are so immersed in their narrative of dislike for Rangers that they don’t even know they are doing it. After 90 minutes of another encounter between the clubs Aberdeen clearly demonstrated that they are not better and only got a point and stayed ahead in the league due to another appalling refereeing performance. Their chief football correspondent thought it was a penalty. The irony is that most people at Rangers (despite the obvious lack of quality) are probably doing their jobs better than BBC Scotland’s sports reporters. I shudder to think what salaries they are on and what level of decay in the BBC permits those circumstances.
  23. I’ll have a pint of what you’re drinking dB. We are running at a loss. We are nowhere near the CL group phase. Our bank facility is equivalent to a crisis loan. I saw on another post we were a ‘white British Protestant club’. Folk need to wake up and smell the coffee. We need money. Go figure.
  24. That fits with the loan market and own player development strategy which is our stated MO but can’t help thinking we need a bit more to catch Celtic.
  25. This is what baffles me. We have had talk of an investment strategy and Park leading it and we have talk of major infrastructure stadium investment for 2022 and we need to fund SG but we are no nearer than we were a year ago to understanding how all that happens. We can probably get to an operating level of break even but that that doesn’t deliver any of the stuff we really need to take the club upwards. Folk appreciate stabilising is the priority but we need to see tangible proof of more than that.
