  1. Think villareal can damage Rapid and Spartak. 8 points might be enough in this group 9 for sure. More cash in the bank, coefficient improving, reputation on the rise and transfer values of players rising. Any doubts morelos is not a £10m player can be put to bed. Well done Rangers especially the second half. Blew them away.
  2. What amazes me is how forwards attract all of this attention with respect to discipline but defenders in Scotland scythe through opponents without penalty. Morelos hasn’t commited one bad foul in all those 58 games that I can think of but he is Al Capone according to the media. He does need to be more clever simply because they (media and refs) are out to get him.
  3. We can’t build a team around plastic pitch skills. Just need to suck this one up and find a way to combat these teams on these pitches playing these tactics. Learning curve for SG. Our team is massively better than it was. Only fools would see otherwise.
  4. Craig Levein spot on. Can’t argue with any of that. Safety and sporting integrity out the window. Having said that it will be compulsive viewing. But for all the wrong reasons.
  5. Utterly unbelievable. Going from genuine concern about his constituents which no one can argue with to talking about the playing surface. This shows how thick he is and that he is not fit for office. Is that letter a hoax?

Agree. We played well and with 10 men. Need to find a way to keep hold of the mall as that is Morelos big strength.

I’d overload the wings and push Arfield and Dorrans forward with jack and lasa sitting. Ejaria pivot. Keep the wings high up the park and wide and create gaps for others to run into. When we don’t have the ball the wings come infield. Aberdeen played ok in patches v Hibs but we might miss physical presence against their centres. On the other hand they won’t know what to do without someone to clobber so this might help us with a more fluid formation.
  8. Someone was (with good intentions) also rightly saying the QFs has been exciting especially the Easter road and tynecastle games and we should talk our game up. Big Dick was wholeheartedly agreeing with him! The hypocrisy stank. The SPFL and SFA could be doing a lot more. The trouble is we have a feck them all attitude at the moment and we need to build better relationships to make progress but given the way these organisations have treated us and are still treating us with res 12 etc that is not a route that I would trust any time soon. We could contact sponsors but they have done nothing wrong and it’s not their battle. We could have a mass mass protest outside the BBC before s match but that would have potential to backfire and any indiscretion inflates by the media. I think the the way I suggested is the right general approach. These people need to be embarrassed at a far more basic level and highlighting a denial of public broadcasting services to marginalised or more needy fans is the way to do it.
  9. Improving public services is part of the scottish governments vision and KPIs. All that is in the public domain on various URLs. Broadcasting which is s public service (albeit one that the Scottish govt doesn’t have much control over) is within her remit and it’s part of her job ministerial portfolio. Unless you think it can be fixed by contacting the BBC and asking them to play fair then the best route is the political route but I agree it needs thought through before going to her. She won’t get to eat the BBC which she knows but she can be pressurised to take an interest in this. I am sure taking a swipe at the paucity of the BBC nations and regions output is something she could and should get interested in. The BBC may be miscalculating that with the upsurge of Rangers fortunes that we will give in. I don’t think we should and I think applying pressure in different areas such as Ofcom and politics could be effective given the likely clamour down south for more visibility of Gerrard. Now is the time. I’d be interested if you have a better suggestion but we’ve now had a lot of posts and going round in a circle of complaining rather than working out what to actually do. Nothing personal btw!
  10. I think the party line will be inclusivity SoulS. She probably doesn’t even know this issue exists. The key is to get statements from people genuinely disadvantaged who deserve better public services and present them in a fair and balanced context against the objectives of public service broadcasting. In the case of Broadcasting that is provided by the BBC but BBC Scotland have their own output and she through her colleagues in Westminster and with support from well placed Rangers fans could call the BBC to account. I don’t think she or her party have a negative line on this. This is not really about big bad Rangers v the rest of the world, it is about certain disadvantaged people in Scotland who are being actively excluded from national broadcasting. I don’t think she or Ofcom can or will ignore that. The BBC as has been evidenced can and do ignore it, and are displaying ever increasing disregard for their public duty. The first step step is to create a solid case so I would start with 1872, someone who knows the BBC in detail (Jim T for example) and a lower level politician. Go thru the data, then go thru the mission statements of these organisations and decide who to present it to. It’s 4-6 hours work from 3 or 4 people but once it’s out there it’s out there and pressure can be applied. There must be someone who who reads this stuff who is sufficiently connected to kick this off.
  11. BBC governance is a miasma. If you go to London you will end up back with Ken McQuarrie who is now Director of Nations and Regions and tied in with his chums who made this decision in the first place. I’ve met him and he will have no interest in helping. A dual approach to Ofcom and Fiona Hyslop in the Scottish Govt would be my recommendation. Whilst the BBC is a London operation she is a significant stakeholder in Broadcasting output to and from Scotland. If you raise it to political level you get out of the BBC cycle and can move faster. A question or support from a Rangers supporting MSP might not be a bad thing, backed up with stories from people genuinely disadvantaged. Hyslop will want to be seen to support inclusivity as it’s a stated part of Scottish Govt strategy and values. Club 1872 could actively poll for stories and work with charities that help the aged for example to highlight why the radio is important to many people. In summary 1872, a sympathetic politician, someone who understands the BBC at a working level could crack this quite quickly. I’m sure Rangers fans have links to unionist politicians (seems plenty of young Tories on follow follow) and someone like 26th of foot working with 1872 and a friendly politician could provide the ammo for Ofcom, Hyslop to either launch or be pressurised with. Just needs a bit of time to collect data, find the right network to help (all meet), examine the charters of said organisations, agree breaches and launch.
  12. No they weren’t gonzo
  13. I think we are reasonably good but my sense about them is they have flattered to deceive for a couple of years now and we are getting stronger. Might not be this year but so long as we can progress it’s not too far away. This is not a false dawn. We are improving.
  14. Morelos was outstanding today. There isn’t a better forward in the league.
  15. It’s an interesting point. Turning off the radio or telly seems to have no effect because they take your money anyway. The more interesting aspect is ‘why do we need them’? And other than being bloody annoying and unfair do their actions damage our club? We have gone through the leagues, we are playing at a high level in Europe and the BBC are irrelevant to our progress from what I can see. We need well meaning business men and a fan base few clubs can match to come out of this shiite. We don’t need the approval of Dick Gordon and his chums to be successful. But I would like to know how the money is spent on covering clubs.
  16. It’s shades of grey in BBC. The folk who did the mad men McCoist stuff were told they shouldn’t do it because Glasgow is what it is but they still did. That type of BBC output also has to be viewed differently to a factual piece by Daly or McLaughlin as one is journalism and the other is creative media. It’s interesting that the BBC are clearly anti Rangers in both forms. That shows how deep rooted the bias is
  17. It is surprising how the BBC boycott is now all out hostility and marginalisation. It’s actually a disgrace from a national broadcaster extorting licence fees from all.
  18. This is the issue for me. FOI on costs spent on covering Scottish teams abroad whilst Rangers are playing in the same competition on the same day a mile up the road. I can’t do an FOI but someone sensible should. Someone also might want to throw in hospitality accepted versus hospitality rejected question. Not sure if they collate data on rejected but they must on accepted. You could ask Rangers how often they have invited BBC executives over the last 10 years and how often the offer was taken up.
  19. Don’t forget Kent is a loan so grezda is the future. Kent and Middleton are young so having grezda and Murphy to come back is a great problem. Still think we are missing a playmaker aka carzola or hate to say it a Rogic or McGregor. Scum still ahead of us in that area but see us catching up across the other positions.
  20. I think Kent and Middleton are 2 different kinds of players. Kent is more effective inside and linking middle and front but has trickery and he puts in a shift. Middleton is more direct out wide and a great crosser but doesn’t have same all round game as Kent. If you know you need to get good balls in the box and don’t have much time to do it then Middleton is reliable. I think Kent starting is probably SG style and Middleton as impact - for now. Incidentally the clever aspect of the second goal last night was the Barisic run. He started and finished it from well off the touchline so there was a big channel for Middleton to play the ball down (superb pass) , but also that ball down that space meant the central VR defence could not cut it out as it was down the line and lafferty was occupying them and also because of Barisic position of run meaning the VR right defender had come in off the touchline to pick him up. Looks like that tactic came off the training ground. Credit to SG for turning the game round. Great point he also made about the lesson of the game is watch the second half and start to believe in yourself. Football is about being as good as you can and maintaining or improving even on that. Before SG our club was full of fear and that was infecting us/me as fans. That fear is going and this result will give massive self belief to the team. The scum would have lost in VR.
  21. There can be no other club on planet fitba who would behave like they do. It is one thing to try and push the limits to get a sporting advantage for your own club but it is another to try and damage a rival at all levels like they do. There can be no doubt now that these SFA charges have nothing to do with Sporting Imtegrity. It’s got nothing to do with EBTs and false liquidity statements. It’s pure hatred from them because of what they are. It makes you strongly suspect that organisations like FARE are working very very closely with these people. They are an absolute cancer. A club that could only offer their greatest ever employee a pools job because he wasn’t a catholic. Rangers need to come up with some sort of response against these people (I can hardly call them by their name anymore) and it needs to be a series of actions not words and statements. Getting them out our stadium was a good start. It also demonstrates we need to build our relationships with other clubs. I am sure there are chairmen out there who will think these people are totally out of control and stuff like the referee strike was manufactured purposely and entirely from bad sportsmanship and zero integrity.
  22. Yep I have. He’s basically asking the refs to make it up as they are going along because the rules are ambiguous and contradictory and saying leave it to the refs interpretation to do what they think right. Then he’s flagging up incidents where he thinks that in his opinion the refs didn’t get it right despite the fact they are doing what he suggests and making it up as they go along. His article is biased hogwash and has 3 examples of injustices which favoured Rangers in his opinion and none which Rangers may have suffered from which from my blue tinted perspective is wrong. Only a complete fool would suggest Morelos deserved his red, and when you add clowns like Michael Stewart in claiming Morelos “volleyed” pure weak timid fragile McKenna then you are left with one conclusion. Our refs might be useless but so are our sports journalists. Morelos did not use excessive or brutal force and the referees are entitled to overturn his card. He also omits that other countries seem to do OK with the current rule book. He ignored that some clubs (well one club) have their decisions and alleged offences poured over in micro detail and even our national broadcaster has submitted video details to UEFA against one of our clubs (guess which one - same evil Rangers) hoping they would take action. Meanwhile another club has a thug wearing the number 8 jersey who can hack and elbow without scrutiny. If our refs are garbage (which they are) then they are not helped by a biased, torchlit pitchfork mob called BBC Sportsound who until now have rarely bothered their collective backsides to consult the football laws. Normally don’t mind him but this article is garbage and I wish I got paid for writing cr*p. In fact cancel that, I wouldn’t submit such a ludicrous piece.
  23. The year they won it against malmo we KOd Eindhoven and Juve. Possibly our best chance of going all the way looking at the QF lineup. We were arguably the biggest club left in the tournament at that stage.
  24. He would simply have denied it. He’s a politician. Politician = liar.
