  1. Jordan Jones is an idiot, always has been, we took a punt on him and it predictably didn't work out, we owe him nothing (that's not to say we owe these other boys anything).

From folk at Killie that know him, first thing he did when signing with us was selling his car, as he couldn't trust himself to head back down to NE England to go on the razz with his pals after games.

It would be foolish in the extreme to punt these boys, by holding our self to some higher moral standard than any other club.

Having watched three of the five since they were 12 years old I found it particularly disappointing. I don't think Dapo has ever been in the first team bubble,

There is no bubble, very few sports have bubbles, F1 and a few others, the players return home to their families after training, football only has an exception for training games and competitive games. At all other times, even at training and in dressing room, they have to comply with the same workplace distancing that the rest of us do.

  3. Uilleam, good article, thanks for that.

Sounds horrific, I don't think any of us who have been fortunate enough not to suffer from mental illness can ever really understand how it affects those who sadly have. In such circumstances I'll avoid passing my opinion, as it's irrelevant, about as much use as my opinion on cricket, inner city race issues or the constitution of Ecuador.

  4. I don't think we should use this as a vehicle to get rid of anyone as the rheptiles did with bolingoli, if he's not good enough, punt him for that, not because he's been stupid. A certain Geordie would never have had a career at Ibrox if we'd got shot any time he did something stupid, and many others like him.

I agree with you regarding the youngsters, punish and see if they learn from their mistake. Young Nathan's family don't come out of this well, claiming he was at home when he clearly wasn't.

  5. I've no idea. It may be that he lives in the same authority as them, stood at their garden gate, met and went a walk with them, none of that is against the rules. The fact it was him that brought it up, I assumed he was trying to get those questions asked, but then maybe not, he's no the sharpest.

So a story breaks that names nobody, there's a vague rumour that Ranger's players are involved but no details.  And the BBC are asking the First Minister about it? Seriously?

Yep, that's how they work. Somehow despite the question being given short shrift, this is now the top story on BBC Scotland news page.

I think it's unfair the way journalists get such unjustified criticism. There seems to be a complete lack of understanding about the role of a journalist, including a daft notion that they exist to report facts and to do so accurately. In fact, as more fully informed people know perfectly well, the role of the journalist is simply to fill column inches while in the process avoiding legal liability. In that respect, accuracy is totally irrelevant and to expect it is to miss the point completely.

I agree Bill, to be honest, I'm not really that interested in reading about transfer speculation*, although I admit I'm in the minority. The EPL fans in particular seem to have transfers and the window as their main interest.

I'd far rather read in depth analysis of matches, formations, playing styles, but that seems to be beyond the average UK journalist and indeed pundit too.

*Yes, I see the irony of posting that on a transfer rumours thread, but it's Rangers!

My best mate stays in Prestwick.  I have considered it for when I move back home - I like the vibe in the town.  Bloody expensive to buy property there though

If ye hold off about 7 or 8 years, you can buy mine when the wee yin moves out, and me n the missus move nearer the mountains! ?

I'm from Ayrshire, lived in Killie for a couple of years and also played for Killie Boys Club when I was younger (Gary Holt played alongside me) - but I wouldn't be overly disappointed if they went down - primarily because Billy Bowie is a :wanker:but also because I am still seething that they replaced one of the best pitches in Scottish football with that monstrosity of a plastic pitch.

Aye, I feel exactly the same, I'm just down the road in Prestwick, their fans do my nut in, love to see them going down.

  10. Fantastic record, we've went from having potential to a team that is now living up to that, and it's all down to Mr G, Gary Mac, Beales and the rest of their team.

I'm fed up of hearing this shite from the press that the beggars fans are the 12th man, and our fans are negative, and that's had a bearing on this league. Even if that whataboutery was the case, then that goes to show when it's all stripped back, 11v11, mano a mano, we horsed them.

My only regret from this season is that Gerard won't get what he truly deserves, and has earned in spades - a Full Ibrox erupting with ecstasy and the release of the last 9 years, and hearing the Bears raucously singing his name.

We'll just have to do it all over again next season #56.
