Wanted Argentina to win it until I heard Messi was working for the Saudis,... greedy bastard without morals.

If you drill down deep enough you could probably find something distasteful on pretty much every footballer, greed would definitely feature highly.

I prefer to try and watch it purely as a game, naive you may say, but I don't really care to be honest.

He's an absolute pleasure to watch.

  2. Spot on Cammy.

Tbh if Morelos goes, we should be fairly happy we got the goals we got from him over the time he was here for the small sum we paid for him.

Aye, it would've been great to get a big fee for him, but shit happens, we can't always do a Bassey.

Mibbe we should get compo, Gersnets very own Jim mclean, in as director of football....

  3. I enjoy the whole shimmy routine, with the taker trying to outfox the keeper (as a neutral, I'd be far too nervous to watch one of ours do it!), it adds to the theatre.

And speaking of theatre, the celebrations are great too, football getting dragged into the entertainment industry, despite the alf garnetts.

Could understand it more if the balls were as heavy as the old bladders in our day; they had thick laces as well and were heavy enough just kicking never mind heading.

We've done this before, but once again, it's about force, which is a result of mass x acceleration.

Yes, the old ball was heavier, but because of this, the velocity of the ball was much less (look at old pathe reels, wee looping crosses).

Because its a lighter ball, then it can be fired in at a much higher speed, resulting in an equally high force.

And factor in the players are physically far more advanced than ye olden days, and you'll realise the force is higher.

Good to see Lowry, Roofe and Lovelace all involved.

Yesterday's video also had Goldson and Souttar at the training ground so hoping those two aren't too far away either - same with Yilmaz.

    Agreed.

In terms of Souttar, I'm still hopeful he can be the next Alan McLaren rather than Paul Ritchie....

Saw the Sky News interview last night.  He spoke very well.  I am excited to see if he can get a tune out of this team.

A couple of things that stood out in that interview was his 'get back to standards' comment - quite telling I think, and also the reiteration that he's no one's friend, he's the shouter, the disciplinarian.

Good interview, can't fail to be impressed.
