  1. Of course a balance is required, but right now we're not short of experienced players, we need to up the number of young, hungry players who are willing to learn and improve their game. I'd far rather see us sign Barron from the sheep than McLean, granted he's not as good a player right now, but at we have to develop young signings to gain a better team and more value in the squad. This should also alleviate our ridiculous wage bill - Apparently higher than Atalanta's.

Youan from Hibs isn't a bad buy at £2.5M as well btw, he's done well in a shite team.

Anyway, all of this is pure conjecture, McLean is probably just the usual lazy rumour.

But you said he can't cut it elsewhere which is blatantly untrue.

It's not really, did you watch him when they were in the PL? he was in his 20s then, and wasn't particularly impressive. I'd rather sign players that shone in a brighter, more technical league than the championship. Kamara made it look easy.

If it wasn't for Butland, Tav would probably be our player of the year, but I wouldn't sign him, would you?.

It's okay to have a different opinion to yours Cammy.

Do you mean Erhahon? He's in League One and recently was voted their player of the year for Lincoln I think. Wouldn't be expensive. Not a bad shout.

No, young Scots lad that went south last season.

Edit- Dylan Reid, 19, went to Palace. No idea how he's doing, but he certainly looked a good un.

If he's 32 instead of 22 I'd get the money motivation

Many players will (rightly or wrongly) see Norwich as an easier passage to the riches of the EPL than going via Govan. This is sadly viewed as the real prize nowadays by your average footballer, not the CL.

I've intentionally avoided watching league matches at the Piggery in the past but never thought I'd see the day where I avoid watching a cup final but I'm the same as you - seriously considering doing something else.

Christ, I've not watched a game against them for years!

  6. I'd imagine Clements comments relate to the lack of physical conditioning, which then means players struggle to meet the requirements demanded in a busy season, and break down. He hinted at this in comments about wanting players to be able to cope with 2 or 3 games in a week.

IME you can't really change this mid season, that'll just result in fatigue and injuries too. I think the result is that our squad are in for a busy pre season.

Change the offside law to the whole of the back foot clearly behind the offside line instead of any part of the body

I always preferred the clear daylight way we did it for a while (I heard talk recently of this coming back?) as it results in more of a positive effect on the game, ie more chances/goals.

  8. I agree that the spontaneity is definitely affected, but the CL* in the main manages to keep the game flowing far better than either our league or the EPL does. As a team who are generally in the opponents box more than our own, VAR will always result in a net positive for us.

    * I believe that's due to it being semi automated.

I've been asking for our players to snap that lot for years, so not going to give him too much grief about the sending off.  Just wished he'd hit the ugly wee c*** harder.

Which with VAR is never going to do us any favours, as we seen. We could do with just competing with them, not allowing them to waltz past on a regular basis.

Given how lucrative this is, plus he and his family are settled here, there is absolutely no chance he is going to be away this year.

A Saudi wage will blow that all away. It's a decision for him and his family future now tbh, overall he's been a great signing, but I wouldn't be disappointed to see him leave. We've kept too many over the years.

I guess what I'm trying to say is we don't have to rip everything up. There are weaknesses in our squad, but its core is capable of winning the League Cup, reaching the Scottish Cup Final, the last 16 in Europe and taking the title to the final weeks. Some judicious improvement might be all that's required.

    Absolutely.

I think Clement has been a bit of a victim of his own success, I mean no one had us anywhere near the title when he came in, then we gave him zero budget in january, but now we're disappointed as it feels like we chucked a very good position - that his management took us to.

  12. I stopped wearing tops at the age of 30, a conscious decision that was taken, and tbh since then I've kinda lost interest in what our kits look like 😆
