Match Thread [FT] Rangers 1 (Tavernier 60' pen) - 2 Motherwell
Devil's advocaat replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
None of his our last two leaders have given us an identity, a style of play or a focus like PC has. Neither of them improved players, had us looking hungry, no matter who was in the line up. Neither of them overturned that lot, and made us look genuine favourites. Midweek we weren't lucky, coming back from a goal down isn't lucky, it's what champions do. -

Great article sir. £200k for the captain has to go down as one of the best buys in our history.- 16 replies

Match Thread [FT] Kilmarnock 1 - 2 Rangers (Tavernier 55; Lawrence 58)

It's fairly simple to my mind. To question, or expect better from referees as a whole is fine, we're paying customers after all. To chase a referee, after the event, to harass him outside of the football realm, to blame failure of our team over a season on someone, well that's your personal choice, and you leave yourself open to criticism in my opinion. Really there's no answer, no defining line, it's up to you how you carry yourself. Anyway, I've work to do, enjoy the rest of yer day. -

It'd be the first time you've put a line under something! -

Moaning at a ref during the game is perfectly normal. It's carrying that on for weeks after the event, looking into said ref to see who his father was, that kind of behaviour that is very, very yahooesque. -

I for one hope the Jambos get a couple of yahoo-esque penalties at the weekend. 😉 -
Mibbe 20 years ago, nowadays the big teams produce talent to use as makeweights in FFP, to fund buying other players, or to fulfil homegrown requirements. It's a complete racket, just look at how many homegrown players Man U or Chelsea had on the park last night. Liverpool have a decent youth academy, but they also have a team full of injured players, needs must. Chelsea could even buy players that they've sold on back, and still call them homegrown. Sad state of affairs.
-
EPL teams youth academies are bound to churn out players, the sheer size of them is incredible, they hoover up everything that is around. IIRC it was Palace that chucked theirs, as Chelsea and Arsenal were taking everything locally. We shouldn't compare ourselves to the EPL, aspire by all means, but don't compare.

Maybe back when we had 16 man squads, but it's definitely a squad game now. I think it's added to the game, having more subs, we've won a fair few games this season off the back of good substitutions. -

It looked as if his arm came out to an 'unusual' position, but that was possibly as it was struck by the ball, I'm guessing that's what the ref went on?. VAR check may not have made a difference, when you consider that Hertz penalty went to VAR. One of the Killie handballs was a stonewaller, and right in front of the ref as well. -

Very much so, terrific result. Wee bit unfair to say it's a typical McInnes performance, he's had them playing some cracking football this season, much as it pains me to say it!. Fingers crossed on Cortes injury. -
Just watched the highlights again, what a ball that was for Dessers first goal from big Souttar, superb. We're playing some fantastic football, but its also great to see how PC allows/wants us to go direct when it's on. Having players with the great distribution that both centre halves possess is a huge advantage.

Remember there were quite a few on here who wanted Warnock.... 🫣

This Move on, it's done and we're heading in the right direction.

As I said yesterday, never saw the game so no vote for me, but it's great to see big Souttar getting so many mentions, he's really growing as a Ranger. 💙

Fantastic. I was out of mobile signal in a Bothy in West Highlands overnight, got back to the van in time to hear Diomande slam that goal in, just as my mate pointed out the Killie score. What an end to a great weekend!.

You can have that, you just need to move the ball, no one says you have to cross it from the corner. But then you get the howling 'get the fuckin baw in the box' brigade! 😆

I've always thought that in general football teams are lazy at corners, generally unimaginative, and as such the stats are poor. An average quality cross can be made fruitful with plenty of movement and a bit of innovation. We've seen teams do it, but it never lasts.
