  1. Spurs win 3-2 Sheff utd 1-0 Rangers 3-3:(
  2. Is it just me or is Whittaker in on reputation as he broke through last year and there's a lot of hype about him. Surely it's AH. Guys tend to get in these teams as they're on form around the time the voting is made and that man was Hutton.
  3. Was going with the hibs have nothing to play for theory whilst we can confirm a CL spot. You'd think it was the other way round listening to some of that.
  4. HT: Spurs 1 up, Sheff utd 1 up, Rangers 1 down! Bad enough when one teams letting you down, but when its your team its a right boot in the balls!
  5. Pompey 2 up. Rangers not doing me any favours today. I knew there was a reason I stopped betting on us.
  6. Oh crap, don't blame me for that.
  7. When it gets down to the business end of the season its sometimes good for betting. For example a team going for a european spot/avoiding relegation must be backed v a mid-table team. Man City-villa looks a good shout for the draw as neither have anything to play for. But I dislike taking draws, and just because neither side has much to aim for, doesn't mean one wont nick it. However I would predict a draw if pushed. You would have to fancy Spurs to beat Boro as again, one is going for europe an the other has ended their season effectively. You would expect 'Pool to win. although they may rest the top stars as CL football next year must be pretty much certain and they may wish to rest the top stars for the CL semi. So this one I wouldn't be happy going either way. Tough weekend but I hope you get lucky with your choices. For the record I picked Spurs, Sheff Utd and Gers. Guaranteed loss now. Only come up if I keep 'em to myself. Feel free to tear it apart.
  8. For WS building a side attractive enough to watch, as reported in the article, read: a team that wins. Guaranteed thats the real issue. Deosn't matter what the quality of football is like a winning team attracts more fans. Ask Chelsea!
  9. Not with the parachute payments. Still be miles better off than us.
  10. Good game. Fans were in good voice. Hardly noticed the mhanks were there. Lennon was class, absolutely destroyed them. The likes of Shinnie and Furman had decent games too. Other than that was hard for me to tell who played well, you're sat miles from the action at Hampden and I'm not that familiar with these players, their names aside. Ps. Br1ndy asum you were there? Didy ou think their keeper dropped it over the line direct from the second half kick off?
  11. Over a mil for Naismith now? Give Lennon a chance.
  12. No he's not young but being a keeper has at least a good 9-10 years at the top. Agree to some extent that he went through a period where he liked to flap at balls, however in recent games there's been signs of improvement with him taking some very good cross balls safely. Wait and see I guess. His development may depend on who WS brings in. Does he bring in a guy who will be expected to sit on the bench and provide competition, or an established keeper who may displace AMc in goal?
  13. Gonna stick my neck out and disagree. With the backing of the manager and a regular run in the team continuing I don't see why he can't improve into a very able keeper.

How many of the ****s forward line were picked in the team of the season? Needs to and can improve, but still the best in this country.
  15. I do find it baffling that the guys who still rue PLG's departure thought he could drag us even furtehr backwards before taking us forwards again. As i'm sure Calscot has mentioned in other threads before, name one great manager who made a team a lot worse before making them better than when he took over? It just doesn't happen that way. You do what WS did, initally you steady the ship, you plug the obvious gaps. Smith brought in some decent CB's fixed the defence. And with virtually the same team we're on one of our best runs of results in years. I think PLG's time here and even his mediocre performance subsequently with PSG shows that he was capable of keeping a vastly superior Lyon side at the top of the pile, but is not very capable of turning around a struggling team. Perhpas his reputation was not merited.
  16. Aye, have Neville and Evra not missed quite a few games with injury? Having said that, who would go in instead? And also VdS has been highlighted for several blunders this season. Maybe James deserving that one?
  17. Professionalism and enjoying your work are not mutually exclusive, hoever I don't expect many people to agree with me on this thread.
  18. Meh. Generaly looks good in games that Celtic are already dominating and where he has time and space. So generally at Craptic park. In any game where they are struggling he isn't the sort to grab it by the scruff of the neck and drive them on. Can be bullied by a physical approach too. Similar player to CA in some ways and not much better tbh. Nice touches here and there and some good free-kicks. Guys like KB get bashed for drifting in and out of games and only sometimes coming up with a a key contribution in a game and yet we're praising Nakamura for having much the same impact.
  19. I meant we are closer in terms of the quality of the two teams. I think the delusion is in beleiving they are that far ahead. As I say, under WS we're a different, much superior team. We've picked up 4 points more than them since he took over. So in that respect as I say, there doesn't appear to be this chasm in the quality of the sides. You're right, the league lasts a whole season. So lets se what WS can do from july/august, instead of trying to turn around PLG's mess from halfway through.
  20. To me that doesn't put PLG in a good light. It doesn't say that the players could only take seriously if they work in silence does it. Not suprised the players don't get on with him and don't want to play for him when he treats them like children. Advocaat got the nickname the wee General, but the above is taking the piss tbh.
  21. 4 points ahead in "WS league". Down to more than just a lack of motivation by them imo. At least domestically we are a lot closer than we were under PLG.
  22. Why are we now over-hyping this player?
  23. Hardly any pass marks first half. Difference second half was Fergie driving the team on, changed the game. Hutton>Fergie>Dado imo. Edit: Rae was horrific until he scored a very good goal. I wanted him off tbh.
  24. Put your house on that, never been in doubt really.
