Didn't think much of the view at each end when I was there for the youth cup final, but it was only about a quarter full. You're too far from the field at all parts of teh ground, but particularly at either end.

Went down to Hampden today to help a lecturer with some performance testing for Queen's Park. He gave me a wee tour, out through the tunnel, into the traditional Rangers and Celtic changing rooms as well as around the various labs and warm up areas etc. Wee bit of testing and then into the changing rooms where the Queens Park boys were having an end of season talk from Billy Stark (ok so he's an ex tim). Loved it. If I think of anything else I'll be on to show off. God i'm such a sad bastard, but I really loved every minute.

The only complaint I would have is that no relegation would really kill the league. Everyone would be playing for the title a CL spot and a UEfa cup spot. Everyone else would be playing our meaningless games almost from the kick off. And I don't think cash incentives would be enough to change that perspective for fans or players.

Maybe, only remember seeing him at LB. However, surely we've even better cover for CB?

I suppose you're right Cammy. With Konchesky's PL experience, he would be a good option. But for me that relies on moving on Murray and Papac. Becuase, with our lack of funds (that I expect us to spend anyway) we can't afford to go for another LB when we have 3, meaning there is not money for, for example, a LM. As I say depends on moving on the other LB cover first.

No thanks to Konchesky. Actually really rate him as a premiership standard LB, but would mean shipping on at least Papac and Murray. Smith has to be the long term LB. Came through the youths costing us nothing and is frankly a quality player. When fit this season he was easily the best player tbh, but injury wrecked his season about half way through. Cuellar, Nekounam and Pandiani would all be decent standard experienced signings.

On Rangers tv 3.30 am our time with repeats about 5 and 10 pm, but can't remember where I read that.

Yep, sign of a good keeper. And Am did that in the final OF with the one real save he had to make v Nakamura early in the second half. However, that was one game and we need to see if the concentration of a really top class keeper is soemthing he will show in the majority of games.

Its a helluva a lot more than half a dozen decent performances and noone has claimed he's the finished article. I missed this game right enough though.

Should maybe have put this in footy chat in a thread about the CL final. And despite his short stay in glasgow, but I just love RIno Gattusso. Observer article Some great lines in there. Including having to be told to calm down by the doctor as he can't sleep for days before games. And also having to be told to put clothes on for the World cup presentation. Legend.

Tbh at games I spend so much time concentrating on our players, well we do dominate most games, that I rarely notice just how well an opposition player is doing, unless he's obviously balls or playing like Pele.

Was the first I heard of being linked with him, but if he ran the show against us then he would surely be a good buy. Take it he plays central midfield?

Having to listen to a radio broadcast of the game today. Anyway they just mentioned we're linked to 2 Osasuna players, Cuellar and an Iranian called Nekanam (sp). Anyone know/remember much about him?

We did but it isn't counted due to it occuring in the war years. However Celtic count gaols during this period in any official statistics so go figure.

Cheers mate. Not exactly prolific, but then he hasn't always played as a striker. Doesn't expect to come here to make up numbers either according to what i've read on bbc.

Yep, agree with all that. WOuld have been ideal for our midfield, so we have to look for a different player with a similar style. Trying to have a positive outlook.

In the last OF, although arguably a "nothing" game, Fergie, Hemdani and Thomson totally dominated their midfield. Browm comes into stengthen their midfield with Lennon leaving and also possibly Gravesen. I'm not sure that this one signing gives hands the advantage to them in the middle of the park.

Next seasons team should include Smith - free imo and not Papac.
