  1. Are you meaning ComeOffit's ban ? If so, he didnt get banned for calling anyone a bampot. He got banned for the use of FTP. And you would do well to remember that the website and its owners would also be liable to criminal charges in the event that someone brought it up through the Threatening Communications Act.

Simetimes things arent as simple as you would like them to be.

Comeoffit, Kuznetsov, craig gave you a reason for the ban and the forum must comply with the rules of the threatening communications act or there will be repercussions for the forum and for the owners. This is about more than just yourselves so quit the childish and selfish attitudes.

  2. 2 great but different conversations going on here. Amms posts have made me a lot more positive about it all. I have no understanding of business and PR and hadn't considered his take on it, but he backs it up with good points.

On the other, related conversation, about winning hearts and minds. Well we're the Man U of Scotland (or they;re the Rangers of England). We are the biggest. We are the best. It's just not very British to like people (or teams) who are overly successful. Particularly when our success means we deny all others it. Therefore I don't believe we can ever become truly popular out with our own support. Fortunately our support is the biggest in the country.

  3. you need to remember that they are friends. you need to also realise that thats what traynor used to call blog writers. it wasa ajoke and english still said we were right to complain.

You may be right. But maybe it's not all as innocent as you suggest as I would say the vast majority of people who read the papers do not know of this friendship and would take the comments at face value. Gotta agree with Kuz on this one.

  4. If he thinks McCulloch as a lone centre forward is part of our best 11 then 60 minutes later he's making a substitution that moves players around so he can accommodate McCulloch at midfield then perhaps his professionalism should be questioned.

I disagree. Yes his judgement can be questioned. It doesn't look like he;s making the right call. But I believe that is down to his view on the game, our squad and McCulloch's abilities relative to others who could play those roles, not being correct (as I view it) rather than because McCoist lacks a logical approach to the game in favour of an emotional one.

  5. I'm also hoping for more from Jim Traynor than opinion pieces on our website.

I was thinking this but didn't write it as I didn't see think I speak with enough credibility and eloquence for the point to be debated on its merits.

It read like a editorial from the Sun or Record and we often moan when the fan groups don't put out professional statements.

I like the boldness and the weight of the piece. There was just something off in the way it was presented. I can only really put it down to lacking professionalism for a club of our standing.

  6. If you have watched Walter and now Ally in action and don't think certain players will in the starting 11 no matter what, then I'm lost for words.

You are missing the point. McCoist and Smith (wrongly imo) pick certain players because they think they form part of our best XI. Not because they have some man crush on them or some other such nonsense.

  7. Generally not, but his insistance to play McCulloch whenever possible and never sub him raises some questions with me. Probably not a jobs for the boys thing but perhaps more related to the position of captain?

Could be correct with that one. I again doubt he's alone in playing the captain more for what he brings to the team in terms of presence and leadership than actual ability on the field. So again the assertion that McCoist is picking his "favourites" is wrong, but that he is perhaps making one selection on more than just pure ability on the field.

  8. I wouldn't say Ally chooses out of pure sympathy. But it seems when a player has earned his spot in the starting XI, it is very hard for him to lose it again, except for injury. Take Sandaza for example. How many starting line up spots did he have despite horrendous performances until he was replaced finally. Not a take on Ally as I'm sure this isn't a policy, just appears to have a lot of trust in players once he starts them and gives them a lot of time of time to show what they can contribute. In some cases this surely has been positive though.

You can label this accusation at all managers though. Once a player has experience at a certain level managers will often fall back on them.

How else did Paul Hartley continue to accrue caps once he had his first few. Rarely played well at that level. But managers look at his caps and "experience" and played him in spite of performances. At least as far as I can tell. And it happens all over world football. The managers don't have some kind of attachment to these players. They just have a different view to me or you as to who their best XI players are. Complain that they have made a bad call, but don't tarnish their judgement based on some emotional dysfunction.

  9. Loan won't work he has to get into Ally's wee gang, then he will get picked every week no matter how he plays.

Do people honestly believe McCoist isn't objective when he picks his teams and does so from some sort of emotional attachment or jobs for the boys mentality.

He might make poor selections but that is because he picks the players he thinks are best to win the game, whether he is right or wrong. He doesn't pick players because they're his mates. Give the manager some respect.

More tired rhetoric from the Rangers support. I hate these buzz phrases and nonsense ideas that get perpetuated among message boards.

  10. Didn't want to start a new thread on this as I know it bores/annoys some fans.

So searched for a thread with a relevant discussion.

Here's the FOI for their ICT game:

Completely forgot about this and thought i'd stick it up for the record along with the other ones.

    Quite interesting this one.

BBC gave the official attendance as 44,379

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20374545

Oh dear, somethings not right here, celtc fans also claim their club has 44,000 season ticket holders,now..Looking at the BBC official attendance that would then mean only 379 people bought a ticket for this game or all those 44,000 season ticket holders turned up and perhaps the Inverness fans bought the other 379 tickets..But that would then mean no celtc fans outwith season ticket holders bought a ticket from public sale.

But anyway,FOI says totally different, official figures given to the police by the club themselves is 31,155.

    A shortfall of 13,124

  11. I still find this baffling.

Normally everyone is saying how the club shouldn't be throwing money away. Now that want to give Miller wages?

What will they learn from Miller that they wont learn from the club's greatest ever striker? So much for living within our means and having a sensible financial strategy.

  12. People don't want to give Alexander two years but do want Miller back?

Last time I saw him for Scotland he looked awful. And considering Miller appears to be more motivated by money than most we've had through the gates in recent years I can't see him coming cheap enough for our current level.

Signing Miller just so we can win a game against Elgin? Fuck sake. He may have scored in that one. But we're gonna walk the league and there's no guarantees we wont drop more silly points if he was here.

Hardly the goal scoring rate of a Kris Body is it. ;)

  13. No directly attributable quotes so not overly worried about this being anything other than a normal negotiation process. i.e. a game of offer, counter-offer, bluff and double-bluff.

However, I would would be absolutely astonished if Alexander rejected our final offer if he is indeed on £10k-12k per week. Where else is he going to get anything like that kind of money? It would be a massive gamble on his part to assume that he would.

    England no bother I reckon.

  14. My worries summed up by someone else:

The whole idea is to get everyone under the 1 Sky television deal I guarantee it, we are the anchor in that deal.

They will then distribute the money per each level, so top 12 get 60% next 12 get 25% and bottom 18 get 15% and within each level your placing giving you an amount at end of season. That way it sticks to what Longmuir has stated, finishing bottom of top Lge will still get you more than the top of the 2nd Lge.

So the SPL gets us in the TV deal but has to pay us feck all for a few years.

  15. I see Longmuir has apparently said the powers are close to agreeing a deal which basically sounds like what the SPL wanted. :(

12-12-18. We stay in the bottom tier.

And likely they sell the tv rights, including ours and despite the fact that we are the ones bringing in the money the SPL "big" teams will carve up what we generate. :(

  16. When you look back McGregor was prone to howlers every now & then, especially in OF games. I do agree with Real PapaBear that he was responsible for the Kaunus defeat

Aye, like that Samaras penalty save!

  17. he knew exactly what was going on with temps and mcgowan in the summer. right down to him being on his way to mp etc.

And this is the latest from teh same guy:

In the past hour Ryan has completed the deal to take him to china, all things in his contract are fine and there is 100% a clause in the contract which will allow him to make the move to us, only a 1 year deal!! As iv stated from the start his plans where always to come to us whether it be sept or January!!
