    WS did come in and fix the defence with some "good to go" players such as Wier, but how many on here whinge that he was coming - "he's to old and slow blah blah". Then How many whinged when Dailly turned up - he has been pretty sound. Also Cousin was to GTF, But scored the goal that got us passed Bremen. I still would have preferred Hutton to stay. Now he has brought us success, but I want either the SPL and SC, or the SPL and Uefa Cup. Would settle for the 2 Cups but that means we are out of the CL. Is that a sacrifice SDM, WS and the fans are willing to make? I would agree we have improved, but I also agree that the Dhims are poorer, and that the rest of Scottish Football is slowly improving to meet up with the Dhims.

    Cammy, In that there is only 1 thing that gives me satisfaction - a cup in the cabinet. All the rest are worth hee haw if we do not win the SPL and/or win 1 of the others. I would prefer to do all 3 others but I cannot see the team we have doing it because they are too stretched and there is no usage of hungrier, fitter fringe players when we play the Jags (for instance). If we fail to win anything else is that a satisfactory season? i for 1 believe not. But as is agreed, the team/management are not above criticism

    My hero, when he came to our primary scholl before the final against the sheep in 1981/82 SCF. He was a Hamilton lad and the Noble family who ran (they may still) the Hamilton Advertiser were close friends of his. He was asked by my then teacher (Mrs Noble funnily enough) to come to the school and say hello... I was simply in awe. He then proceeded to do 100 keepy ups with a suit and shoes on (remember the kind of style back then and you will know how hard that must have been). Met him a few times, My old man knew him - mainly from the bookies. A total gent and never failed to do his bit as a hero to everyonr who worshipped him. The day he died I found out in the evening, and I was in tears. Simply the best.

    Sorry but I am not whinging, I am stating the facts from where I see them. I believe we should be producing better football. I believe that we should be playing more players when teams like Patrick Thistle come along - and that those players should beat them. I believe that if footballers where out on the pi55 after the Final then they should be hawled in and have the book thrown at them. These are the professional footballers who whine like cnuts because they earn 20,000K a week, but it only lasts 10 years due to career length. Well If you stopped getting tanked up you could play football to the same age as Teddy Sheringham et al. I am angry that these kinds of little niggles are allowed, and even more angered when fans join in with them. Now it is fact that you are happy with the current way we play. I am only happy with the fact that we are winning (albeit hopefully we will beat the Jags, The Dhims, and also Lisbon) I want to beat these teams, and do it playing with heart, it appears that you would be more than happy to scrape through. Well I don't agree OK. Simple as that.

    In short, No.... and never should get so big headed that we think we are.

    IMO we cannot continue with 4-5-1. McCulloch and Boyd cannot play in that formation. 4-3-1-1 yes they can, or indeed 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. The thing is Boyd is a penalty area striker - and we don't play to that strength, even though we have McCulloch who will win most headers/fliks on. Bazza will always move forward from Midfield. But as said, Boyd is a penalty area player. Novo is a runner, and is also a penalty area finsher. We need to feed them both in any giving game as they WILL both find the onion bag. And to those who don't think fans having a whine about formation/tactics... get a fooking grip. That is what fans do, and the fact we can all do it on here in an intelligent way (unlike other forums) is a great example that debate and difference of opinion on GersNet can be a breath of fresh air, and might even change peoples point of view!!! WATP

    MacGregor was excellent on the Pens. Boyd to score the winner was fitting. Utd were the better team by far, and TBH I feel a little sorry for them, NOT!
