  1. My ratings are pretty much in line with that.
  2. Good luck Wagbo. If we got anywhere near the £1m rumoured then it's good business.
  3. Foderingham - 8 Hodson - 5 Cardoso - 6 Alves - 7 Wallace - 6 Jack - 6 Dorrans - 8 candeias- 6 Windass - 7 Miller - 4 Herrera - 5 Subs : Tavernier - 5 Wilson - 5 Morelos - 5
  4. That is an absolutely disgusting story. I'm genuinely sorry you and your brother had to go through that. As for the whole gay / lesbian thing, as someone alluded to, I think the generational influence is massive (see the thread of the merits of Glasgow vs Edinburgh!). I think I may be on the younger end of the scale for this forum. I have loads of gay mates, make and female. It doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, they have some of the best parties you could imagine and are a load of fun. Live and let live. And for the record, I'm a happily married man.
  5. Interesting that they completely ignore the comment about Spence.
  6. I had emailed the BBC regarding their impartiality when it comes to us and the reduced coverage. See email to and from below. Full Complaint: As a fan of Glasgow Rangers, I am often baffled as to why the BBC are choosing to exclude themselves from any coverage inside of Ibrox stadium. I understand this is vaguely to do with the exclusion of the reporter Chris McLaughlin by Rangers - he was previously shown to have reported in a biased manner against Rangers (he pushed through information regarding arrests at a match at the start of one of his reports and stated this was his normal mode of reporting whilst doing the opposite for other teams). If the BBC feel that this is enough to justify the boycott the club, then why have the BBC chosen to ignore exclusions in the past? (I.e. Jim Spence's exclusion from Dundee did not result in a boycott of reporting from Dens Park). As a license fee payer, it is unfair for supporters of a certain team to recieve a sub-par service (when compared to other supporters) in what seems to be a personal bias from BBC Scotland staff against a particular football club. Can you please let me know what you plan to do about the issue of specifically targeting one section of football supporters and purposefully providing a limited service? Especially for those who may be disabled or elderly and unable to attend the matches. Is there any intention of putting a personal grievance aside and providing a fair service for all license fee payers? Kind regards. Response: We are disappointed that Rangers took the decision to ban one of our reporters from Ibrox. We believe it is unjustifiable and we stand by the integrity and the quality of our journalism. We will continue to report on Rangers both on and off the pitch and will feature match action where appropriate but, until this issue is resolved, we will not be sending journalists to Ibrox or attending Rangers' press conferences. The BBC would respond in exactly the same way if any institution or body acted in a similar fashion. BBC Scotland continues to cover stories and match action involving Rangers but in a way that does not involve our journalists in any direct professional interaction with employees or representatives of the club. This is a perfectly justifiable response to an unwarranted action taken by Rangers FC to exclude one of our reporters on the grounds of lack of impartiality. The action required to resolve the current dispute lies entirely with Rangers FC. Your comments have been fully registered on our daily audience log. This internal document is made available to all our production teams and senior BBC management. Thank you, once again, for taking the time to contact us. Details of the BBC complaints process are available online at http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/handle.shtml Kind regards Craig Osborne BBC Complaints Team
  7. Yeah Glasgow's clubscene is amazing. Edinburgh's is well known for being pretty poor but I guess it's not bad for a city of its size.
  8. Jeez good 3 points but no nails left. We need to up our performances from that. It was like Jeckyll and Hyde at times. Sometimes great pressing, other times looking scared of the ball. Need to get a Miller replacement.
  9. Miller slows / messes up our attacking play so many times.
  10. No, someone insinuated that as he called the city beautiful, he must have been talking about Edinburgh.
  11. Sorry but you are wrong about the music scene - one of the world's few UNESCO Cities of Music, the Hydro (the world's second busiest music venue), hundreds of other music venues (including multiple other large scale venues that regularly sell out) and a truly world class Techno and House scene that is a world level influencer. Also, as for the arts scene, it may not be obvious on the surface (apart from the world class mural trail) but it has one of the most influential art scenes in the U.K. With the Dchool of Art at its hub (a ridiculous number of Turner Prize winners recently). There are also multiple top class galleries as well (outwith the GoMA or Kelvinhall). You are right, it has its fair share of scumbags but one thing that most don't point out is that it is one of the most polarised cities around - it also has a large amount of Scotland's most affluent areas. But that doesn't suit the "pure mental Glasgow" image so it's not communicated.
  12. One thing that may be unseen in this discussion is... Age (and no offnence is intended!) Through experience I have found Glasgow to definitely be a younger person's city - maybe this is true within this conversation. PS I do know what the tattoo is, but it genuinely holds no interest to me. As for the "few natives" comment - I'm sorry but every time I've been to Edinburgh the vast majority of people I've dealt with haven't been Edinburghers, pretty much all staff have been either Eastern European, French or Spanish. It is almost an exact carbon copy of Dublin for me, except I enjoyed Dublin more as I at least felt like a tourist in a foreign country rather than feeling like a tourist and outsider in my own country.
  13. Not directly Rangers but the latest bit of Fake News; "Celtic fans chant "there's only one Lee Rigby" at Celtic Park - when it was actually Hearts fans. I'm no fan of the poor guy's name being dragged in in any way but good opportunity for the press to spin a story in Celtic's favour after their failure to cover up last week's shitstorm.
  14. I am truly baffled when any native Scot actually believes that Edinburgh is a "better" city. As I said, it is like a big York to me - more like a big town than a city, and similar to Dublin in that there are actually few natives which invalidates any genuine feel to the place. Truly awful for a night out also. Maybe I am just a rampant Glaswegian but I genuinely feel that Edinburgh's hype passed on from the hoarded of tourists precedes the reality, especially as a Scot visiting the place.
  15. For culture? Really? In what way? I am honestly confused when people say this. In glasgow you have superior museums, theatre, the arts and music scene is on a different planet to Edinburgh. I honestly think they are incomparable. if it is because Edinburgh has a yearly festival then that is fined but again, Glasgow is a 365 day a year city, not a temporary tourist destination.
  16. As I said, fair enough. For those into a bit of culture, Glasgow is unrivalled anywhere outside of London. The arts and music scene is second to none. Edinburgh is a fantastic tourist trap and has the second best castle in the country so that is obviously an attraction. Nice place to visit, can't imagine it being a great place to live. Again, Edinburgh is on a much smaller scale than Glasgow so I would definitely find myself a bit bored there. It must be a shame having to wait for a festival all year when there is basically something going on in Glasgow 365 days a year.
  17. Yeah, Edinburgh has a nice castle but as a bit of a culture vulture, that is it. Yes, it has the festival but that is once a year. Glasgow has multiple cultural events throughout the year, is much bigger, has a much friendlier vibe, a world class music scene, better architecture (Mackintosh, Thomson, Hadid, Foster), better nightlife, better for sports... the list is endless. I actually had to convince my wife that Edinburgh castle was actually Edinburgh caslte when we drove past it once. She thought it was just a building up a hill as she was that underwhelmed. Maybe as more of a city lover and a music lover, that is why I like Glasgow more. I view Edinburgh in a similar light to somewhere like York - worth a visit but definitely would be bored living there.
  18. It's hardly that argument, more like my da is bigger than your wee granny
  19. I also agree about Thomson, his works are amazing. There was a recent programme on the BBC that charter the times where Glasgow shot ahead of Edinburgh as Scotland's main city. As for preferring Edinburgh to Glasgow? There really is no comparison. I don't think Edinburgh really feels like a city at all. And the fact that you are unlikely to meet a local, rather some foreign tourist or student serving you, makes the whole place feel false to me - like a big Disneyland for tourists. Also as a massive music fan, Wdinurgh pales into insignificance when compared to most places in the U.K. ... but that's just my opinion
  20. As a 365 day a year city, Glasgow is far more vibrant. And the city Centre is hard not to call beautiful. Have you looked up?
  21. Good to see someone calling out Rodgers for his constant stream of pish-talk.
  22. Glasgow, architecturally, is far superior to Edinburgh. You have some of the finest examples of Victorian architecture in the U.K. never mind Scotland. The City Centre and West End is miles ahead of anything Edinburgh has to offer. Plus the Southside has some of the most amazing areas of affluence that is often overlooked. But Edinburgh has a castle.
  23. They never turn their own in for anything. That's just their way and that is why the country is as it is just now.
  24. Bravo! Great season opener.
