  1. Maybe the crew were ex members of the Mirror Group pension scheme that Maxwell plundered. Whole family of wrong-uns!
  2. Or did he????
  3. Ah the BBC, who would have guessed.
  4. Not sure they are in their prime. Most are well over 30 and would attract minimal fees between European clubs. Some may be crying, but in joy that someone is paying a fee for unwanted players. If they were to offer say, £100+m for Rice or £300m for Haarland then Europe would sit up.
  5. Only difference is the vast majority of players are over 30, so its akin to the US, but with more money!
  6. They have no place on the board unlike Newcastle, and no direct involvement in the club. I'd certainly expect the clubs owners to use the fact that PIF has £bns of assets managed by Clearlake," to their advantage, which isn't against any rules. Payments for the players aren't exceptional as Kante was a free agent, Ziyech is £8m, Mendy £15m and Koulibaly £25m so they aren't paying over the odds. If Gary Neville and Chris Bryant are against it then I'm glad the club are doing it.
  7. Yes they are investors, but not owners.
  8. What state would that be? Clearlake capital (US) a private investment firm own 60% LA Dodgers/LA Lakers part owners Billionaires Todd Boehly/Mark Walter own 20% Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss Foundation own 20% Apparently the terms that Roman Abramovitch insisted on after seeing what happened to Man Utd prevent any of the new owners from selling shares, or collecting fees or dividends from the club for a decade. There are also limits to the level of debt they can impose upon the club.
  9. Tough tackling Doug Rougvie. I saw him chin John Fashanu and knocked him over at the Bridge and also saw him smack Dave Beasant and headbutt Carlton Fairweather both against Wimbledon in the first few minutes of a game and got sent off
  10. No, lets not!!
  11. Frank's done his two stints in the trenches!!!
  12. Its no surprise that two clubs who have been praised for their youth products over last few years have gone down, i.e. Leicester and Soton. You can't just survive by selling your biggest assets, you need a mix. Brighton would do well to learn.
  13. More chance of Hull 802 sliding out of port on its maiden voyage!
  14. Bournemouth are a strange team and were 0-2 up at Arsenal and should have won. Quite capable of scoring and play nice football.
  15. About right for the Spanners.
  16. As an aside, the championship play off Coventry v Luton next bank holiday Monday, i'd not only like to see Coventry win, but just love their home kit that takes me back to their first division days of the 70s early 80s. Think it all started going south for them after they lost to non league Sutton in the FAC.
  17. 5-5, im going for a lie down!!
  18. Blimey, Sheffield Wednesday 0-4 down after first leg, are now 4-0 up at home after scoring in 90th minute - crazy!!
  19. Hammer time!!!
  20. Cantwell again causing havoc and causing them to lose the ball as Sakala picked it up.
  21. Competing all over the park and bettering their corresponding number, that's something that couldn't be said the other games against these this season.
  22. Great save, maybe McCrorie gets the shirt next season?
