Transfer thread - OFFICIAL!! David Templeton signs 4 year deal
Stefanovitch replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Simone Del Nero looks technically very good from the brief youtube videos I've watched but he's had chronic injury problems. He hasn't played more than 15 games in one season since 2004/05. -

An element of Coventry supporters were delighted when he declined to renew his contract because they didn't like his style of play. Similar to the complaints many Rangers fans had about Barry Ferguson - always passed the ball sideways and never forward. FWIW - I agree we need midfield players but I'd prefer someone able to play wide left, with a bit more pace than Clingan. -
Is the tide starting to turn for Charles Green?
Stefanovitch replied to Anchorman's topic in Rangers Chat
Green was greeted with much scepticism as any new owner would have been following Murray and Whyte. Perhaps Green did himself no favours with his bold statements about raising £30m etc and the fact he gained control ahead of the Blue Knights, Walter Smith, Douglas Park, Jim McColl etc but to be fair I'm not aware of anything he's done wrong so far. -

Could this be linked to the delay, if there has been one, in launching the new away kit? It seems odd our season is underway and we still haven't launched an away kit although I see no immediate problem in using last years away kit. Am I also correct in thinking that a link up Ashley's Sports Direct would see us switch from Umbro to Puma a lá Newcastle United? -
@RFC_Official: There's been a slight alteration inside the stadium that you are all going to love! Any ideas what it could be? #cryptic Any ideas?

STV say we have taken former Napoli and Lazio defender Emilson Cribari on trial. IIRC we were linked with him a season or so ago. 32 year old, 6ft 3" centre half. -
Excellent and emotive video - goosebumps galore!

If The Sun article is correct then Sandaza will be a very good signing. -

Of the 3 strikers linked then surely purely on ability Sandaza & Beattie have to be pursued. Kyle just doesn't do it for me and is far too injury prone. When did he last play a competitive game? -

From STV. Not sure we need a 34 year old midfield player. -

MAURICE EDU has told Ally McCoist he wants to quit Rangers before the end of the month. The US international confirmed his intentions in a meeting with his Ibrox boss yesterday. The 26-year-old is still waiting for a firm offer after a move to Spanish side Valencia collapsed, but it is his intention to quit the Light Blues in the current transfer window. The former Toronto midfielder, who has a £300,000 release clause, is aware of interest from Sampdoria and French side Valenciennes. Edu, above, wants to move to safeguard his spot in the US team. McCoist also held talks with Carlos Bocanegra, Kirk Broadfoot and Dorin Goian. All three said they would be happy to stay but couldn’t rule out leaving in the transfer window. Alejandro Bedoya has returned to Ibrox, but he could be on the move soon. He was set for a move to Helsingborgs but that has been put on hold after the Swedish side saw the sale of one of their players fall through. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/336903 I've read other rumours about Steve Jennings on trial / signing with us. -

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11788/7955060 Rangers are considering a move for Romanian midfielder Andrei Ionescu, Sky Sports understands. The 24-year-old is set to leave Belgian outfit Royal Antwerp due to issues over wages not being paid. And Rangers have been alerted to the midfielder and are ready to make a move. Ionescu, who spent time in PSV Eindhoven's youth academy, has spent most of his career in Bucharest playing for Universitatea and more recently Steaua. He left Steaua last summer to move to Belgium, but after one season with Antwerp he is ready to leave. Ally McCoist is rebuilding his squad following their demotion to Division Three - but a number of players are still attracted to the Ibrox outfit, and one of those is Ionescu. -

The Good Doctor hasn't been the same since Gretna were promoted to the 1st Division. I'd rather we signed Kevin Kyle than Kenny Deuchar. -

I think Sebo is available on a bosman this summer. -
There is/was talk of Jim McAllister (ex Morton and Hamilton) being keen to sign. 26 year old full back.
-
Could we attract previous trialists like Enar Jääger to Div 3? (possibly not if we can't hold onto the likes of Bedoya).
-
I would imagine that would cause a major uproar if we were promoted 2 divisions. I also assume this would need to be a breakaway league with membership by invitation only.
-
If we can attract players of the quality of Ian Black while in Div 3 then I'm quite hopeful others that do arrive will be of similar quality. Dean Shiels would certainly help in terms of creativity but as we wont be able to sign anyone until Jan 2014 we need a lot of signings and a firm commitment from those who do stay / come that they will see out their contracts.
