That's interesting because weren't we supposed to be keen on a striker we'd been watching for over a year? It seems now we've made our interest public, have spoken to the players agent yet still haven't made a bid. I guess if we sold Edu we may use that money to make an offer or we could be waiting on offers for Jelavic before making any moves.

I agree that £2m on a 29 year old might not be the best use of our limited resources but, I also don't think we can afford to gamble on a younger player with potential rather than a proven goal scorer if Jelavic leaves.

Don't see any mention on the Wigan website. McArthur would be a good signing but with Davis, Edu etc already in place would he feature? Di Santo on the other hand is a forward player of which we are short of but does he not play quite regularly for Wigan?

The English Premier League is a pipe dream as is an Atlantic league I'm afraid but certainly worth considering. With an Atlantic league involving (Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Dutch(?)) clubs would the tv revenue come anywhere close to what Sky are pumpinmg into the EPL?

Watching it's pretty clear the boy is a Rangers fan. Favourite player - Gazza. Last game was Old Firm game at Ibrox when Samaras missed the penalty. I haven't seen the lad at all byt by all accounts he's had a fantastic start to this season. Will he play tomorrow?

To be quite honest I don't think he's good enough for Man Utd. He lacks pace and pace in the English top flight is what you need. With Rooney, Hernandez, Wellbeck and Berbatov they wont be looking for a striker.

Another thing struck me last night. Pace in the modern game is absolutely vital. We only have one player with any real pace - Wylde - the fans get more excited when the ball goes to him and that's a heavy burden for 20 year old.
