match thread (image) [FT] Rangers 2 - 1 Motherwell (Defoe 45+1; Helander 79)

He's right of course, it helps absolutely nothing when fans send bad vibes at our own player and our captain no less during a game. It's our job to support the players through thick and thin and the managers job to sort out any problems. We can be guaranteed Tav is giving it his all. -

It was a poor performance especially so in comparison to what we have come to expect at Ibrox. Wasn't helped by a bizarre refereeing performance in which we were denied two stonewall penalties then given one I though was debatable to say the least. Motherwell were fortunate to keep 11 men on the pitch for the duration then after spending a vast amount of the game wasting time got an extra 5 minutes tacked on stemming from their time wasting which gave them the chance to snatch a late equaliser. One of those days indeed. And then afterwards we have Robinson declaring this. No mention of clear non given handballs in the penalty area or his players blatantly taking ours out of the play and receiving no punishment. Despite playing poorly we still only got a narrow win because of the ref and he got away with a narrow loss because of the ref. -

I was envisaging the screams of conspiracy if we got away with a fraction of what they did. -

Ironic that we have 5 extra minutes which at this point suits the time wasters better than it suits Rangers. -

That's a relief. Can't afford to drop points at home to the likes of this lot. -

I suspect in the second half we may get maybe 10 to 15 minutes of football and 30 minutes of Motherwell wasting time. -

He's so good at putting them away with a snap one touch. -
He's here because the previous two incumbents failed to deliver even a second place league finish while one of them failed to deliver even a second round EL qualifying place. And I was always under the impression that all of our managers were hired to stop the yahoos winning any titles at any time so what's new? And besides, it was a ludicrous appointment wasn't it? An under 18's coach? They need to contact Spiers for the real deal.

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
JFK-1 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Even more so if he had a scoring run in the CL. The way I see it he has to stay beyond January to help us to the title then into the CL groups. Then he could go in January 2021 for £40 million as a proven CL scorer when he will still be contracted for another two and a half years while we also pick up another £40 million in the CL groups. An £80 million cash influx that can swing the financial advantage in our direction. I think he might be persuaded to stay at least another 6 months in the Summer if we make the CL groups and Gerrard recently made it clear he would be disappointed if Alfie were to be sold in January. -

It could be disastrous to let Morelos leave in January with a title on the line. I was happy to hear Gerrard say in the after match interview at Porto that he's key to our immediate ambitions and we must hold on to him. Hopefully the board were listening and at the end of the day the same interest will be shown in Morelos next Summer. And consider what the price tag might be if we win the league and make the CL groups next year with Morelos continuing his goal scoring exploits on that stage. -
Decided to have a look back at the co-efficient as it was at the beginning of the 2012/13 season when Scottish football had just decided to suicide. Scotland were in 15th position with 25.141 points. Fast forward to the 2016-17 season when Rangers came back to the top league and lo and behold we find Scotland in 23rd position with 17.900 points.

JFK-1 replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
Like in the current EL setup? It is what it is and we need to strive to get anything we can from the Euro pot while trying to improve the co-efficiency even further. A little help from others outside the OF would be of great assistance but since all they want to do do is park the bus and play hoofball I don't see that happening anytime soon. Of the 3 nations between Scotland and that 15th spot Greece in 15th currently have 1 team still competing while Cyprus in 16th also have 1 team still competing and Serbia in 17th have 2 still competing. We need all of them to fail as much as possible while we and the yahoos continue to pick up points. -

i think we have to put all rivalry aside in this instance and hope for both to go the knockout stage. In all honesty the past few seasons I didn't feel that way but Scotland at the time were far from attaining such heights and that's largely because Rangers weren't in it. But now it's within touching distance. One team simply can't do it alone both have to be performing well and if we can indeed get that extra CL spot then all things being equal Rangers would be pretty much guaranteed a chance at CL football season after season. Everybody has to be aware since the evidence has been right there in front of us year upon year that no sheep or killie are going to get us there. Also has to be said that the lowly status the country found itself in is largely due to what they insisted on doing to Rangers. Classic instance of biting off their own noses to spite their mindless faces. -

JFK-1 replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
Another factor after last night. With the yahoos getting a win and Rangers a draw that puts Scotland into 18th place in the co-efficiency table while 15th gets an extra Champions League spot. If they and us get a win and a draw between us in our next game while the 3 ahead of Scotland who are Serbia, Cyrpus, and Greece were to get none it would put Scotland into that 15th spot. -

Did you notice that in the after match interview Gerrard stated that Morelos is of such importance to both him and Rangers that "we have to keep him here". I'm hoping that's a hint to the board that no matter what might be offered in January you can't let him go. The video is primed to start at the point he begins to speak of it. -

I think in spells Porto looked a very dangerous side indeed and there were periods especially in the first half before Alfie struck that I feared for the outcome. On transfermarkt their squad is valued at over £230 million while ours is valued at around £45 million. They have real quality and we still didn't look out of our depth but I wont be taking the home match as a guaranteed points source. -

You obviously know nothing about them. Of course he couldn't because he's shite and Porto are shite. I actually enjoy such vacuous babble. Their bitter envy shines through. And if they're 'pish' I have no idea what that makes the sheepish cluggers. Presumably the mighty Rijeka would romp the Portugese league. -

Has to be said that the turnaround in the club since the arrival of Steven Gerrard has been nothing short of remarkable. I think it's safe to say that none of us expected much more than maybe 2 or 3 rounds of EL qualification ties last season but Gerrard took us all the way there. Then again this season the majority view was that repeating it was unlikely at best yet here we are again. And further we're not just making it there, we're competing at this level with some impressive displays having never been outclassed in any European game Gerrard has led us into. There are still doubters/critics who will harp on so what he hasn't won anything which I would strongly disagree with in the circumstances and especially so the circumstances he inherited. He has won this club a sorely needed £20 million in Euro income while improving the co-efficiency of both club and country. As far as i'm concerned that £20 million was more vital to Rangers right now than any domestic cup. It's the very money that has built this squad into a force that can compete in the EL while we can be more than confident there would be no Ryan Kent or others without it. Give me that over some domestic cup anytime. Yes we need to win domestic silverware along the way because that's what we're about but these Euro runs have been far more important to the immediate future of Rangers than any league cup or Scottish cup. -

Feyenoord 2-0 down at young boys. Crazy group but perhaps YB aren't so bad as they were painted to be. -

That's like saying why mention celtic, hubz, hearts or whoever is obsessive when it's what everyone does all the time. Ryan Jack played for them and will always have a link to them even a couple of decades from now far less a couple of years. Methinks it's looking like you who has an obsession with seeing them mentioned by me. Why, just why? Outside actual games with them I might mention them a handful of times a year and mention others just as frequently though not in such a derogatory manner. Anybody who says anything about Rangers is relevant to me. It's not unnatural for people to take an interest in what's being said about them personally or indirectly through one of their interests. And Rangers are more than just of mere interest to me as I expect they are to all of us. -

While I agree 100K a week is obscene for doing something all of us would do for free given the chance I feel with the amount of money swilling around in the likes of the EPL I would rather the players got it than anyone else. Such as club owners who are typically wealthy to begin with and don't need it. -

For around 20K a week while the sheep paid him around 4K a week. This contract alone can set him up for life while the sheep animals despise him for doing something every last one of them would do in a heartbeat. It's like us hating Alfie for wanting to go to the EPL to earn 100K a week to take care of his family. They really are the vilest form of life in Scottish football. The only cretins who expressed glee at the condition of Fernando Ricksen and his ultimate death in a most horrible fashion. Even the yahoos and hubz expressed absolutely nothing but empathy.
